After high school, I headed to California where I received my undergrad degree in human biology from Stanford University.At the time, I knew I wanted to be in the medical field, but I wasnt quite sure which part.
Fortunately, in addition to my degree, I also acquired a wife during my time at Stanford. Whitney and I were both on the track team for several seasons, and lets just say it was love at first hurdle. After graduation, as I was scouring my brain (and the Internet) for a career path, Whitney suggested I look into the field of dentistry. As always, she was right. It turned out to be a great fit.
Since starting with Custom Dental, Ive had two sons, one daughter, and a whole lot of new patients. I love that Im able to help people alleviate their pain and enjoy a happy, healthy smile each and every day.
However, I understand full well that not everyone feels comfortable at the dentist;in fact, Im willing to bet that more than half of you would rather be anywhere else. To facilitate that, Ive become certified in sedation dentistry a wonderful option that allows even the faintest of heart to get any level of dental work done without having to endure the procedure. No pain, ALL gain.
As much as I care about my patients, being a good dentist is second only to being a good dad. I love spending time with my kiddos, and while theyre still a bit too young for hiking, we can always manage to have a good time at the neighborhood park. Whether its my kids or my patients, I love making people smile and I plan to be in the smile business for many years to come.
My hometown resides in Raymore, Missouri. I have spent all my life in the southern towns surrounding Kansas City. These are the communities I have long desired to serve, and for that I feel truly blessed to have this opportunity to serve at the Custom Dental of Harrisonville.
I attended Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas earning my Bachelor of Science in Biology. I then attended the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Dentistry. During my dental career, I have participated in health services around the Kansas City area and internationally in Nicaragua.
Outside of dentistry I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing sports, trying new food, and traveling. I am looking forward to being a part of the Harrisonville Custom Dental Team and serving the nearby communities.

Shelly has been with Custom Dental in Harrisonville since November 2011, just two months after Dr. Wassink opened his practice. She earned her Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene from University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in 1984 and has appreciated having a career that balances work and family so well.
Victoria graduated from Concorde Career College in 2016 and is excited to be a part of the Custom Dental team! As a dental hygienist, she offers education to patients on oral health and hygiene, cleans teeth, and provides treatment to prevent gum disease. Best of all, she enjoys using her knowledge to help others lead a healthier, happier life.
Victoria is married to her best friend, Leo. She also has an American Eskimo dog who is loyal, cute, and likes to shed everywhere. In her leisure time, Victoria enjoys traveling with Leo and taking different dance classes at a studio in downtown Kansas City.
I absolutely love helping our patients figure out details and finances and then putting their plans into action. The friendships and relationships I have developed with so many of them will last a lifetime.
Tammy started with Dr Wassink in 2014 and brought with her many years of front office, insurance, and billing experience. Although office manager is her title, helping patients navigate through their treatment is the most important and rewarding part of her job.
Tammy and her husband Tim have been married almost 40 years. They have three kids with wonderful spouses and the sweetest grandkids. They are an outdoors family and have all invested in mountain bikes, so much of their free time is spent on the trails in Overland Park.
Laura graduated from Concorde Career College in 2009 and joined our team shortly after. Holding her expanded functions certification, she is qualified to assist during all procedures to ensure our patients achieve the best results.
Laura and her husband Erik, along with dogs Dally Jo and Gunner, raise cattle on their farm, in addition to owning a feed store and diesel shop. When she has free time, Laura enjoys being with her nieces and nephews, hunting and fishing, and traveling. Shes also a track official for tractor pulling and gets to drive every now and then as well.
Dr. Chad Wassink and the team at Custom Dental are passionate about their work and serve patients with a variety of dental services in an inviting, relaxing, and compassionate environment. We work together as a close-knit team and treat everyone like a member of our family.

Went in to just get a cleaning, they wouldn't do it and just tried to upsell me more expensive treatments when I told them no they said they couldn't do anything for me. Just a scam company attempting to get more money from your pocket.

Dr. Wassink and has complete staff are the greatest. I had much work to be done and the team was able to set temporary crowns on 7 teeth and prepare a place for an implant crown in one trip. In preparation for this project I mentioned to Dr. Wassink, "It would be nice if this could all be done in one sitting instead of returning 8 times" and he quietly said, "We can do that." Well, I can't say enough good things about the sedation process, The complete project was indeed painless and completed in under 4 hours and one trip!
