Dr. Gates is excited to serve his community in the DFW area and help you reach your optimal dental health. His emphasis on patient comfort is keeping up to date with the latest advancements in dentistry, which enables him to provide his patients with the best quality of care in the field.
Dr. Gates has a wide range of experience in different areas of dentistry from cosmetic and restorative dentistry to surgical and root canal treatments. Dr. Gates also places a strong focus on his post-doctoral education using it in conjunction with the most state of the art technologies. He has been involved in placing over three thousand dental implants and has advanced training in conscious sedation.
When he is not working, Dr. Gates enjoys traveling, exploring, time with family, and training his dog Duke. Duke just received his official status as a certified therapy dog and will be visiting local hospitals.
That said, though, I wasnt really sure what I wanted to do for my career until I was part of the way through college. I knew I wanted to work in the healthcare field, because I saw it as a career path where I could tangibly help people. At the same time, I was also interested in one day running my own business. I liked the idea of working for myself and the autonomy that would provide. Many dentists have their own clinics, so I figured becoming a dentist would be a great way to help people through improving their health as well as run my own business. I started my own dental office at the end of 2019, but after the COVID-19 pandemic swept through the country, joining up with another dental office became a better option for doing the work I love while providing for my family. So, Im happy to be a part of the Custom Dental team and continue to meet new patients!
Outside of the office, Im a father of four children, including two 6-year-old twins, a toddler, and a baby whos just a few months old now. Between helping my wife take care of the kids, spending time with them, and working, it doesnt leave a lot of time for many other activities. However, I do get a chance to play hockey on the weekends with an adult hockey league, so thats pretty fun!

I began my career as a dental assistant in 2011, during which time I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Oklahoma State University. I decided to go into dental hygiene, earning my Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from Baylor College of Dentistry in 2016. My favorite part of being a dental hygienist is making my patients feel confident in their smiles and learning how to keep their mouths and overall health optimal. I enjoy getting to know my patients and families and them getting to know me. I have loved meeting my patients and their children and watching them grow up.
I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Dalton, for sixyears. We have a daughter named Caroline who is almost 4 and a baby boy due in October. Being a mom is my favorite job and such a blessing! In my free time, I always try to find a way to get outdoors and run. I have currently run six half marathons and am training for my first full marathon. We attend Anchor Church in McKinney and stay as involved as we can in our community church and small groups.
In my spare time outside of work, you can find me spending quality time with my 9-year-old daughter, Marlee, our Schnauzer, Theo and my fianc, Buck. We spend many weekends hiking in our favorite place, Colorado! When we are not taking adventures trips out of state, you can find us at home playing multiple board games ( I am an Uno and Battleship champion) eating pizza and watching our favorite movies. I am blessed with the best!
I began my career in the dental field in 2001, during which time I earned my Associate's Degree in Dental Assisting. My favorite part of being a dental assistant is restoring patients self-esteem, reversing dental anxiety, and renewing trust in their dental care providers by giving them a good dental experience.
I am a single mother with 2 girls, Shaniah, 8-years-old andLiyah, 3-years-old. We have 2 adopted rescue dogs Karma and Deuce. We love to be outside, going to the park, or walking around the lake and enjoying nature.
I earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University in 2020 andstarted working with Dr. Gates here at the Bonham office that same year. I love that our office islike family. Everyone is always willing to help each other out and being a new office we all have a common goal to make this practice as successful as possible.
Born and raised outside of Bonham and returned after 20 years, I am married to Cody and we have three children Chloe (15), Barrett (4), Emmy (baby). I love cooking, Aggie football, and spending time in Bugtussle at my parents farm.
