A pacifier habit is easier to break because a parent can choose when to take it away while a thumb is always available for sucking. The earlier the habit is broken, the less likely there will be orthodontic problems in the future.
Kristy Cupelli D.M.D. is a 1983 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. She was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society and upon graduation received the International College of Dentists Award which is given in recognition of outstanding leadership. She served as Chief Resident during her specialty training at Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh and continues to maintain her hospital affiliation there. Dr. Kristy practiced in the Oakland/Shadyside area for 11 years before opening an office in the South Hills in 1997.
Since opening her first office on McMurray Road, Dr. Kristy has upgraded to a larger facility on Drake Road, just minutes away from the old location. The office is a state-of-the- art facility offering a bright and cheerful environment designed to meet the unique needs of the young patient. Dr. Kristys friendly staff has worked with her for many years. Together, they strive to provide the finest pediatric dental care possible.
