The Cuozzo familys commitment to excellence in dental care spans three generations, starting in 1931 when Dr. Pats grandfather Dr. Pasquale Cuozzo graduated from Georgetown University. With Dr. Pats father, two uncles, an aunt, and a brother-in-law also in the dental profession, his family has a legacy of improving the lives of countless families all over New Jersey.

Established in 1972 by Dr. Pats father, board-certified orthodontist and former NFL quarterback Dr. Gary Cuozzo, Cuozzo Orthodontics has become a major force in the orthodontic health of Central New Jersey.

Dr. Mehreen is skilled with a variety of orthodontic procedures for both adults and children.

Dr. James Dodd is an award-winning orthodontist and an active member of the Northeastern Society of Orthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontists, and other organizations. As a small child, Dr. Dodd had treatment to correct his own orthodontic concerns, and from then on, he knew exactly what he wanted to do when he grew up. Dr. Dodd is experienced with an expansive array of advanced procedures, and he takes great care to set patients of all ages at ease during treatment.

Theresa has been working in orthodontic offices on the east and west coasts for 31 years. She has experience in all aspects of an orthodontic office, but is most knowledgeable in insurance billing. She is enthusiastic, hardworking, and believes customer service is one of the most important aspects of her job. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, going to the beach, and spending time with her family and friends.

Judy has been in the orthodontic world for 35 years. She began working at Cuozzo Orthodontics in 1994 as a part-time registered dental assistant. After her children entered elementary school, Judy began to work full-time and eventually took on the role of clinical manager, and more recently, daily operations coordinator. Her favorite part of her career is mentoring and teaching the junior assistants and interacting with patients and parents. She finds it very rewarding to organize and implement systems and watch the office run like a well-oiled machine. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the beach, reading, gardening, and small home improvement projects.

Brittanni joined our team in September 2020 as a receptionist. Brittanni is a 2016 Paul Mitchell graduate and has her full cosmetology license as well as an Associates Degree from Brookdale Community College for Business Management. In Brittannis spare time, you can find her at the gym, fishing, or surfing!

Ruthellen joined our team in October of 2018 as Cuozzo Orthodontics Administrative Assistant. Ruthellen has over 8 years of Executive Assistant experience and over 25 years of experience in Administrative and Accounting. She enjoys being a part of The Cuozzo Experience, providing the best care possible. Ruthellen lives in Ocean Grove with her husband of 27 years, and their sons. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to the beach, hiking local parks, and biking and walking the Ocean Grove boardwalk year-round.

As one of Cuozzo Orthodontics longest-serving employees, Beths knowledge and experience are truly assets to our practice. Beth began orthodontic assisting in 1983 and has been with Cuozzo Orthodontics for 32 years. Beth has superior orthodontic skills and is one of our key employees that helps to train junior assistants. As Cuozzo Orthodontics inventory manager, Beth researches and implements new products that keep our practice on the cutting edge of orthodontics. Beth resides in Howell with her husband of 40 years. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with her three grandchildren.

Alison started out as Dr. Pats patient, and later went on to join our staff as a part-time junior dental assistant at the age of fifteen. She has now been a part of our team for more than 12 years, and is a Registered Dental Assistant. Alison is cross-trained in every aspect of our practice, from clinical care to scheduling, finance and insurance, and treatment coordination. Her knowledge of both the clinical and clerical sides of our practice is extremely beneficial in helping our office run smoothly and efficiently. What she loves most about her job is having the opportunity to help patients become their best selves by achieving a beautiful smile! Aside from her career in orthodontics, Alison has been dancing since the age of 3, and earned a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Dance from Georgian Court University. When she is not at the office, you might catch her at the beach or taking a dance class!

Tessa has been a dental assistant for Cuozzo Orthodontics since 2011. She was treated by Dr. Pat with a palate expander and braces. Tessa is a 2013 graduate of Manasquan High School and has her full cosmetology license as well as her CDA/RDA. Outside of work, Tessa attends her weekly bible studies with her friends and family. She practices calligraphy, loves to listen to music and be with her friends, and she also loves trying new breakfast places. Working at Cuozzo Orthodontics has provided great friendships and a wonderful work family. She loves working with kids you might see her at your local health fairs!

Salma is our senior treatment room assistant. She is also being trained in our lab by our lab technician. She is going to school for her x-ray license, CDA certification and RDA license. She loves the friendships she has made here at Cuozzo Orthodontics and her favorite duty to do is help our RDAs and Doctors while they are putting braces on our patients. She was born in Mexico and was raised bilingual, so she is able to help interpret at work for our Spanish speaking patients. Salma and her family have 3 dogs and a lizard that she loves. She is a great student and strives to learn as much as she can. She is very valuable to our Cuozzo family.

Samantha joined our team in September of 2018 as a receptionist and she enjoyed the dental field so much that she moved up to dental assisting. Samantha graduated with a Bachelor's in History for Coastal Carolina University. She is continuing her education at ACI Medical and Dental School where she plans to graduate with a dental radiology license in May of 2022. Samantha hopes to continue to grow in the dental field and will be going for her CDA and eventually her RDA. In her spare time you can find her at the gym or reading a good book!

Eileen joined our team in October of 2021 as a receptionist. Eileen recently moved back to Red Bank after living 30 years in beautiful Colorado raising her family. She has spent the last twenty years as a Middle School Secretary and loves working with children and families. In her spare time Eileen loves walking, reading and going to Colorado whenever she can to see her grandson!

Dr. Patrick Cuozzo is proud to continue his familys legacy, spanning three generations, of providing quality orthodontic treatments. Dr. Pat is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics who graduated from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. He joined Cuozzo Orthodontic Specialists 25 years after his father, Dr. Gary Cuozzo, started the practice in 1972.

During his free time, Dr. Cuozzo teaches the next generation of orthodontic professionals as a Clinical Professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and helps out at the local Little Silver Volunteer Fire Department

Dr. Mehreen Merchant is certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and is skilled with a variety of advanced orthodontic treatments for both children and adults. Dr. Mehreen is originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, where she was raised and spent most of her childhood years. She completed her undergraduate studies at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and a certificate in Entrepreneurship and Management.

Thereafter, she moved to Philadelphia, PA to attend dental school at theUniversity of Pennsylvania, where she was awarded a scholarship to obtain a dual degree. In just four years, she completed both a Doctorate of Dental Medicine and a Masters in Bioengineering. While in dental school, Dr. Mehreen was selected to treat complex cases in the schools Advanced Dental Care Clinic. She also volunteered to organize a clinic that provided free dental health education and services to uninsured patients in the local community. For her efforts, she graduated with honors in both clinical dentistry and in community service.

Upon graduation, Dr. Mehreen matriculated into the Department of Orthodontics at theUniversity of Pennsylvania, where she earned a certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. During her specialty training, Dr. Mehreen was active in orthodontic research and teaching. As a resident, she was selected to lead a continuing education course on temporomandibular joint disorders, which was attended by both her peers and specialists across multiple departments at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Mehreen continually strives to keep up with the latest advances in orthodontics by attending continuing education courses, completing advanced training, and by contributing to research in the field. She has presented her work to the American Association for Dental Research and has been published in three prestigious orthodontic journals.
