To make a difference in the lives of our patients by delivering unsurpassed pediatric dental and orthodontic care in a fun, welcoming environment. We aim to create a foundation of optimal oral health for every child and a supportive, inspiring atmosphere for every team member.
We are committed to providing you and your children exceptional service in a comfortable, fun-filled and family friendly environment. As a pediatric and orthodontic team, we strive to provide the highest standard of care for infants, young children, adolescents and kids with special needs. It is a privilege to treat your children and create a lifetime of happy and healthy smiles.
Cumberland was formed in 2012 by four dentists with a desire to make a difference. Their vision was to create a company that positively impacts the lives of children. Today we have grown to eight locations in middle Tennessee, all owned by partnering dentists now employing over 150 team members.
We use up-to-date infection control measures and universal precautions recommended by both the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to protect both your family and our team. Our employees undergo frequent training to ensure proper infection prevention, respiratory hygiene and cough etiquette, updated safe injection practices, and measures for effective instrument sterilization.
Standard Precautions are the minimum infection prevention practices that apply to all patient care, regardless of suspected or confirmed infection status of the patient. These practices are set forth by many different administrations including OSHA, CDC, The American Dental Association (ADA), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). These practices include, but are not limited to:
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Summary of Infection Prevention Practices in Dental Settings; Basic Expectations for Safe Care. Atlanta, GA: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, US Dept of Health and Human Services; October 2016
The Cumberland family goes further than pediatric dentists, orthodontists, assistants and hygienists. We have a great Leadership Team in place to ensure all our patients and employees have only the best experiences with our practices! Each person contributes to this team by building company culture, creating marketing campaigns, making every dental visit FUN! and everything in between- these are the people that are behind the scenes.

My son has a terrible gag reflex and has never had a good experience until today. The dental assistant that treated him talked him through everything she was doing and was very careful about not touching his tongue. He did not have one episode! Today they showed him compassion and truly a great experience!

We have used CPDO before at a different location but this team was amazing. My son doesn't like change but he absolutely loved them. I'd rate a ten star if could but I'd definitely recommend to family, friends or anyone for that matter. They really care for their patients.

Went to CPD this morning, this being only our 2nd time being there and it was horrible!!!!!! The lady that came out to get my daughter who had to get a filling because she broke a tooth last week eating food was so rude and mean. My daughter asked so many times to get me and let me go back with them which I still don't understand why I couldn't go? They let me go back last week when they checked the tooth out so why I couldn't this time is just wrong. I guess they like to make young kids upset. Finally the rude lady came out with my daughter like here leave now got mad at me for asking for a school note and then the hifer throw it at me. I asked to talk to someone in charge and what do you know they were in a meeting and they would have him call me when he got out, I still have not gotten a call. I will never take my kids back and if I was everyone else I would either.

They are very kind to my son. He's not a fan of the dentist but this place makes it absolutely comfortable for him, they understand he's uncomfortable when he goes in so they add extra care to make him more comfortable, not to mention it's in and out quick. Fast, but not rushed, and very friendly.
