Contrary to the numerous comments about his 'youthful' appearance, Robert S. Yuan, DMD has been practicing dentistry since 2002. Originally from New York, Dr. Yuan has come to call California his home. Dr. Yuan obtained his degree in Biochemistry from the University of California at Berkeley. He then proceeded to do a research fellowship at the prestigious Yale University. After several scientific publications, Dr. Yuan pursued and obtained his doctorate in 2002 from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Over the pastthirteen years, Dr. Yuan has associated with various dentalpractices throughout California while continually improving and broadening his dental skills and acuity through continuing education.Throughout his life, Dr. Yuan has always stressed the importance of respect,honesty, and compassion. He wholeheartedly applies these values to the manner in which he practices dentistry. Dr. Yuan is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the Orange County Dental Society. During his free time, Dr. Yuan enjoys running, movies, and cars.
Kim N. Pham, DMD is an Orange County native who grew up around the magical kingdom of Disneyland. Dr. Pham has been practicing dentistry since 2003. She graduated with a degree in Biological Sciencesfrom the University of California at Irvine.Pursuing her lifelong dream of becoming a dentist, Dr. Pham attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and obtained her doctorate in 2003 with high clinical honors. She returned home and has been associating in Southern California for the pastnine years. Dr. Pham always puts her patients' comfort as a priority through gentle and compassionate dentistry. One of Dr. Pham's passions is providing dental care to underpriviledged children through participation in charitable associations such as Project KIND and various screenings at local schools. Dr. Pham is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Orange County Dental Society, and the California Association of Vietnamese American Dentists. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Pham enjoys cooking, reading, and listening to music.

Bad experience here. These people are not transparent and dishonest. In the beginning when I started coming here, Dr. Yuan was oddly promoting a lot of services that could be done. I didn't like doing something that seemed unnecessary so I brushed them off. Then one day, he recommended me to fill up surface abrasions for my teeth because they had a slight potential of becoming cavities. He provided me a quote and assured me this was covered by insurance. I asked to think about it, then came back in a few weeks and confirmed with him again if it was covered, then proceeded with the filling appt. ONE YEAR LATER - The receptionist switched to a new person. She casually brings up when I come in: Oh hey, on top of the $500 copay you paid last year, you need to now pay us an extra $500 because it turns out this isn't covered by insurance. We've been having this issue with some people. What? They didn't tell me anything for a year... I confront Dr Yuan about this. He says he can't "keep up with all the codes and regulations" and shrugs. Well that means every time you get a service done here it's prob risky that it won't be covered by insurance because "they can't keep up with all the codes and regulations." This caused me to do a lot of calling, each phone call avg 40 min with my insurance company to figure things out. In the end, my claim is escalated and the insurance company flat out says this is just obviously not covered by my plan and my dentist shouldn't have recommended me to do this based on false pretense it was covered. They tell me to file a grievance with them so they can dispute with the dentist. Not sure who to believe, but since there was already no transparency with Dr Yuan, I strongly believe there is some shadiness going on here. I feel like these people at Culver Family Dentistry are the type to try to push you to do all these unneeded types of services, not really caring if it might be covered or not by insurance. *Update - I got a 3rd party opinion, and they said they would not have recommended the service because they know it's not covered. They would have recommended me to wait it out to see if my gums would recover, of if the abrasion actually becomes a cavity.

Even though we were late for our appointments, Dr. Yuan and Dr. Pham spent a great deal of time to take care of our dentist needs. Dr. Pham did a great job of deep cleaning for my wife. Dr. Yuan offered an excellent treatment plan for my dental problems.

Our family of 6 have been going to Culver Family Dentistry for over 5 yrs. We think Dr. Yuan & Dr. Pham are the best! They're very professional, skillful, and great at what they do. They are not kids dentist but I brought my 3 girls here since they're 5 yr old. My girls love them!! Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.
