Nellie Crowder, DDS was born in Tehran, Iran and moved to Virginia Beach when she was 12 years old. She realized she wanted to be a dentist while pursuing her dental hygiene degree at the Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. After graduating, Dr. Crowder then went on to obtain her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, graduating in 1997. Dr. Crowder had a wonderful school experience and made several life-long friends, including her husband.
With a passion for overall dental health, Dr. Crowder strives to provide optimal comprehensive care to each of her patients. She is a member of the Charlottesville Dental Association and feels fortunate to have traveled to Jamaica to perform volunteer dental procedures on residents of the island.
In her spare time, Dr. Crowder enjoys tennis, hiking, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family and community. She is married and has two children, and looks forward to family dinner with her parents each week.

I ordinarily wouldn't say I really love my Dentist and hygienist, but I do since they are all caring people. They're not just there to do a job, but to bring an understanding to you of your dental needs. The numerous procedures that I have needed were all done gently and with explanation along the way to make the experience relaxing. In my youth I did not have the opportunity to care for my teeth as I should. I have paid the difference of that flaw of mine, but now I have no regrets of strong beautiful teeth due to their professional and very knowledgeable treatment(s). Thank you Drs. Rice and Associates.

I was just at the dentist two days ago. I was chatting with the hygienist. In conversing, it came up, why do you drive so far to come here -- without hesitation I commented, "because Dr. Crowder is good". She and her team are great. You can hear the staff talking and laughing...which says they like their job...They are all caring and attentive to any needs. No one Ines the dentist but...
