At my daughter's cleaning they tell me we need to schedule an appointment for the extraction of her 4 wisdom teeth. I was adament my wife would contact them after checking her schedule. My wife gets a call today from Crossroads Dental saying they have already made the appointment. Thanks for NOT listening, having NO regard to what I said yesterday.

Crossroads Dental is amazing. My husband & I both go here. It is such a well organized office. The dentist & staff are so nice & what I love is they are so organized. My husband picked up his set of dentures & they fit great. The minute you walk in the door you're greeted with a warm hello. Check it out. You will be glad you did.

Today I had appointment and it was good. The dentist assistant was amazing. Loved her personally and she did such a great job cleaning my teeth. I was asked to updated my review as I had a better experience this go around.

If you are on Iowa healthcare insurance, expect to get 1 appt per month, unfinished work and temporary filings that end up falling out because they never got back to it. So frustrated with poor service that I just quit going because I couldn't continue taking time off from work every month to essentially get nothing done. Very disappointed! Update 5/24/22: I am no longer welcome to this dentist bc I vented my frustration and left a negative review. Probably for the best. Maybe I'll actually have my issues addressed with a new dentist.

A+ Dr Halloran and Annie gave me confidence that my teeth and gums have a chance at being more healthy without resorting to tooth removal/dentures. Some background: My family and I disagreed with other dentists who talked as if removing 27 teeth and wearing dentures at 62 yo was a great idea! I began to realize that some dentists were willing to make some very quick money by "selling me" on a "2-stage quick fix." My family all have had their own teeth till they died and I don't have damage from smoking anything (ie cigarettes nor crack). So I have been trying to find a dentist for six years who would be more interested in me keeping my teeth as long as possible. I have had ONE tooth pulled in the past six years. I began to realize I likely had quite some time before I would need to resort to dentures! Anyway, on to my review of Dr. Halloran and Crossroads Dental. After making my first appointment I was sent many reminders about it and opportunities to cancel...I LIKE reminders! At the start of my visit, I was cheerfully greeted at reception and soon called in for an exam by Annie. Annie has excellent communication skills. She was reassuring and still able to be informative about issues. I also liked that she was QUIETLY checking and then recording gum receding measurements. In other offices (3) these measurements were called out between dentist and assistant which I felt was too "public" and tone of voice often became quite "judge-ee" (eg sighs, grunts? lol, and eye-rolling). Back to my experience at Crossroads Dental! Annie was gentle while poking around! I loved finding a female dentist for once!!! So many male dentists with a flock of highly made-up female assistants (Yes, looking at you, Dr. Z). I felt comfortable as soon as I met Dr. Halloran--to me, she met my expectation of a professional working and busy female dentist :-) How to say this, lol, but I recognized she had more than a few years of experience and wasn't made up like a plastic Barbie-doll. Don't get me wrong, I like giving attractive newbies a chance, but horrific long-lasting pain from filling one cavity for my son from a newbie dentist scared him--and me. (Or maybe the better word is scarred? Hmm). Doctor Halloran had carefully reviewed my full-mouth x-rays before coming in exam room. I felt reassured because she had already jotted down on a slip of paper a list of teeth that she was concerned about based on x-rays and information provided. Also Dr. Halloran passed the slip of paper to Annie, rather than calling out all the numbers of teeth--lessened my anxiety and yet I was still confident that exacting and personalized treatment was being planned. At several points Doctor Halloran stepped back and asked me questions and explained options before proceeding. Due to my anxiety issues, I really appreciated her verbal summary of future procedures at the end of her exam. Doctor categorized procedures and spoke in a calm voice and gave eye contact to both Annie and me. Some dentists' eye-contact in the past has been a bit non-blinking and his/her speech would be rushed ( "I'm done and gettin out of here"). Doctor Halloran was busy, also; but she was focused on my case while in the room. I was invited to call if I need any help before my next appointment. Annie walked me to the check out desk. Check out was efficient and I liked getting a sticker reminder instead of a card with my next appointment information! Recommendation to see Dr. Halloran and accolades voiced by my friends, B and M, were spot-on! Sincerely looking forward to my next visit with Dr. Halloran and Annie!

Everyone in this office is very nice. Pam, at the front desk was always especially nice. I have been recommending this place for about three years now since my daughter and I started going to them and I now I regret doing so. My daughter recently started having more than normal issues with her teeth.. she doesn't get pop, barely has sweets, brushes twice a day and goes to her check ups. Within a 7 month period (in between check-ups) my daughters teeth got bad enough to need three baby root canals, and they claimed the cavities could have been there and they may have missed them. They "fixed" the teeth. Within a month my daughter developed an abscess on the tooth they fixed and at this point I felt it would be better to take her to get another opinion. They had been putting fillings in her mouth that are NOT recommended by the American dental association, instead of putting a cap on her teeth like the guidelines state they were putting massive silver fillings in instead and even the recently worked on teeth had visible issues. One of the fillings had already cracked, there was still visible decay next to the tooth, and the other one was leaking/cracked which caused the abscess. My daughter now has to be put under and have two hour surgery to have her tooth pulled and all of the fillings that weren't supposed to be placed in her mouth in the first place, removed. For a dental office to brag on their website that they are members of the American dental association you would think they would follow the guidelines especially for a child. I do not recommend.

I heard great things but came right after my sons kid dentist did the exam and said he needed to start seeing an adult dentist. They only took care of the main tooth that needed a root canal by sending us to Iowa city to get it done. When the work was complete and Crossroads was supposed to finish with crown or filling. They made us wait till he could have a 6 month check up the same day. That day they wanted to send him home without even touching the tooth we came in for, just did the check up. I had to talk the dentist into doing it. So far not impressed with this place. Maybe if we weren't on title 19 we would be treated better.

Our whole family (including our children) have had great experiences with the staff, and the kids even ask when it's their turn to go back. We have always had honest evaluations of our dental needs and given clear options.
