Dr. John completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Detroit where he majored in Biology. He was active in the pre-dental club and for the last two years of his education was honored to serve a Teaching Assistant in the Anatomy and Physiology department. He also spent time in the Learning Center tutoring students struggling in Biology and Chemistry. During college Dr. John worked at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit as a Dialysis Technician. From this experience he learned that kindness and compassion were almost as critical to a patients health as the treatment itself. He then went on to earn his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the University Of Detroit Mercy School Of Dentistry. He graduated in 1999 and has been in practice ever since.
Dr. John has worked in Southeast Michigan for his entire career and in 2005 fulfilled his lifelong dream of opening his own dental practice. He started Crestwood Dental Group in Clarkston so he could serve the patients in his community.
He has taken extensive continuing education courses throughout the country with a keen focus on pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, and Implant Dentistry. He has earned a Fellowship with the International Dental Implant Association.
In his free time Dr. John is an avid boater and enjoys skiing and camping with his family. He is an active member of his church community and volunteers his time at his childrens school. Dr. John prides himself on offering compassionate, affordable, quality dental care to all of his patients.
Dr. LaPoulas was born and raised in Rochester Hills, MI and completed her undergraduate education at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She earned her dental degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. She then moved to the Windy City where she completed an additional three years of study at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) orthodontic residency program. There, she dedicated her studies to the art and science of facial development, smile esthetics, and facial balance, earning her a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Masters Degree in Oral Sciences from UIC. She remains dedicated to education and attends various continuing education courses, ensuring that she is providing her patients with the best orthodontic care possible. Dr. LaPoulas is a diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontics and a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, and Michigan Dental Association.
Dr. LaPoulasloves spending her free time with her family and friends, especially her twowonderful children. She and her husband Nick volunteer for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and are avid sports enthusiasts. They enjoy cheering on the Detroit Lions, the Detroit Red Wings, and the University of Michigan Wolverines!
Jill brings a love of all things computer and dental to her job. After several years of training dental offices on their software, she trained the initial staff at Crestwood Dental and joined them! She enjoys the challenge of keeping the accounts and the computers up to date, and when not in Michigan you will frequently find her at Disney with her family!
Ashley has been with the Crestwood Family since 2011. She joined us as a dental assistant but quickly demonstrated the skills necessary to manage our reception area. While not at work, Ashley enjoys spending time with her husband, bike riding, a watching movies.
Jessica graduated from Oakland Community College with her degree in Dental Hygiene in 2013. She has been part of our team ever since. Jessica is passionate about her career and enjoys educating her patients about their oral hygiene needs. Jessica loves spending time with her niece and nephew and is learning how to play the guitar.
Sarah is a 2013 graduate of Oakland Community College Dental Hygiene School. She has extensive experience working with our pediatric patients. Sarah loves spending time outdoors with her husband and two sons. She enjoys camping, fishing, and riding ATV's.
Mary has been working at Crestwood Dental since she was just out of high school. She started as a dental assistant and discovered her love for dentistry. Mary then changed her major and decided to pursue a career in Dental Hygiene. She graduated from Mott Community College Dental in 2015 and is loving her new career.
Nicole has been with Crestwood Dental since 2008 and has been working as a dental assistant since 2005. She is an outstanding dental assistant and also works with Dr. LaPoulas as an orthodontic assistant. When she is not helping our doctors, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.
Kallie has been with Crestwood Dental since 2012. She has earned her BA in marketing from Oakland University and has been able to utilize these skills in the marketplace. She is starting her business career and helps out at the office when she has availability. Kallie loves to travel and is an avid outdoor enthusiast.

Dr Jon is a hack!!! Charged me for a root canal he did not do, he just drilled and filled on that tooth... He also did a root canal on another tooth where he broke the tool off in my jaw and did not tell me. I later went in for an abscess infection to a different dentist who told me about the broken tool which was the cause of the infection. When I called Crestwood they claimed that they have no record of any broken tool or even a root canal on that tooth. They claimed that I just had a filling done on that tooth and no other work was performed. If you have any work done by Crestwood dental please for your sake double check your paperwork and keep record of it. When you bring your problems to the receptionist you are going to be treated like a common criminal. They treated my wife so horrible one time that I had to go and pick her up because she was crying so hard she could not drive. Such unprofessional people should not be in the medical field whatsoever!

Staff was all extremely polite, courteous, and empathetic to my daughters needs. She hates going to the dentist and everyone was very patient with her. The dentist himself was extremely thorough in the exam and gave great non invasive options for us to try. All around a really great experience with them!

Dr John & his wonderful staff have provided my family excellent dental care for many years. My children do not dread to come for cleanings, the staff is kind and gentle. I would highly recommend Shelly- she is absolutely a rockstar! Dr John goes above and beyond to ensure patients are comfortable and knowledgeable about the dental procedures and any after care follow up. He even provided me with his personal cell phone number when my husband had an emergency dental procedure. I would highly recommend Crestwood Dental.

I have been coming here for years along with my two boys. We've been happy and have always had great experiences, however in the past few months that all has changed. My youngest who is only 19 was recently dismissed due to 7 missed appointments. When I called to inquire 6 of them were from when he was a minor and getting him there was MY responsibility which were more than likely cancelations due to illness or work. They allowed him to schedule again since he needed some work done. His second appointment into it, he woke up sick and needed to cancel so they dismissed him again this time for good. What makes me SICK is Dr Jon did a root canal on my oldest son when he was younger. This past summer, he got an abcess in that tooth and was hospitalized and had emergency surgery. I made him an appointment, paid out of pocket for a cleaning and of course Dr Jon had left early that evening so I would need to arrange to get my son back in to have the tooth examined. I spoke with Dr Jon who said another dentist who had previously worked there had done the work, that's a lie because my son was young and I was in the back when Dr Jon himself explained what he was doing. He said it needed to be treated asap. My oldest called today to schedule and was told he is not able to schedule due to canceled appointments! He has not even been there in 5 years besides 6 months ago for his last cleaning! We are finding a new dentist!

Terrible experience. Don't go here. I got a root canal done a year ago... and it was giving me pain this summer. I went in and had a big infection.. he didn't know what was wrong with it. I saw a root canal specialist and messed up the root canal and I had to go into surgery right away and get the tooth(molar) removed. I've heard a lot of other failed root canals from patients of his as well. Staff is so rude. DO NOT RECOMMEND

I've went here for several years and should have stopped going when he ripped on a root canal I had done by a previous dentist. He did the same with my husband as well. We just brushed it off and kept going and refused to have him touch those teeth. Most recently, he botched our 19 year old's root canal and refused to take responsibility. She had it for only 11 months before the botched job became severely infected. It cracked and had a big abscess. We had to take her to a actual oral surgeon to get her molar EXTRACTED. She is 19! All he cares about is his money and maintaining his Range Rover lifestyle. He acts like he cares but he is nothing but a scam artist and lacks the ability to self reflect on his work. You are not a God Dr. Jon....you make mistakes too. Have some respect and humility for the people who pay for your overpriced occupation. His front staff are also rude and disrespectful if you challenge them. They refused to give our daughter a antibiotic she desperately needed for the infection. I had to call up there and threaten suing them if she had to go into the hospital. Rude, arrogant and do not recommend.

I am 82 years old, this dentist group took me in same day when my other office was closed. They helped take care of my teeth in an excellent and professional way. I have never had a dentists office take such good care of their patient. Very nice staff all together, well run facility, and willing to work for affordable dental care. Don't go here, the Dentist does not stand by the work that he does. I went in in April for a filling and it fell out a couple weeks after the work was done, and it took a month to get back in the office. When I went back in to get the work fixed, the Dentist refused to do the work and said that he will only do the filling if I pay for it in full and did not stand by his two year warranty because he said he initially recommended a crown, which is not true. He said you could do a filling OR a crown, the only difference is the filling can be done today for less out of pocket cost and the crown will take longer and will cost more. He did not recommend one over the other, he just does not want to do anything for free. Very upsetting and frustrating that he does not stand by the two year warranty of his work and would rather have a patient be in pain than fix his mistake. Very rude Dentist and staff! I also got a second opinion from another dentist and they in fact said I do not need a crown and did not understand why he would even recommend a crown for a small filling.

Had a bad tooth, they got me in their the same day! Did a crown, and root canal, and didn't feel any pain whatsoever. Dr, John and his staff were warm and very polite. He also fixed a near by cavity for free. I'm absolutely going to crest wood for all my dental needs! -Matthew-

Very friendly, very knowledgeable, very well run, clean and friendly. Dr. John's very knowledgeable and helpful! We've known him for 15 years and he's done fantastic work on all of our children and our families that has worked with us when we needed his help! I can honestly say I've never had anything bad in that time frame, nothing negative that I can think about.

Dr. John is phenomenal and very understanding especially for patients who neglect going to the dentist. My crown fell out and I had an appointment the same day and two days later had my dental work completed. The staff are friendly, encouraging, accommodating, and very helpful.
