Dr. Tanioka is a 2001 graduate of the University of Southern California School of Dentistry, one of the most prestigious dental schools in the country. While attending dental school, he was one of two recipients of the Health Professions Scholarship through the United States Navy.
Upon graduation, Dr. Tanioka completed a rigorous one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency to further hone his dental skills. He spent several years serving our country as a Dental Officer in the United States Navy. He is a member of the American Dental Association and California Dental Association.
My true goal is to get the patient involved and excited about their oral health. I do this by educating each and every patient about their oral health, then go over how we can achieve this goal together. I know that a visit to the dentist isnt easy for many patients. I provide a relaxed and gentle environment to make your dental visit an enjoyable experience.

Horrible dental office. They refused to do a treatment plan and submit it to my insurance. When I finally got the treatment plan, I called my insurance...Delta Dental... and gave them the codes and found I was 100% covered for any treatment Creekside said I needed. When I went back to Creekside I was told I was not covered and needed to pay over $100 just for that days treatment. At that time I got on my phone to Delta Dental...they again confirmed I was 100% covered by my insurance. I handed the phone to the lady who said I was not covered and she refused to speak to the Delta Dental agent and refused to give her the dental codes she stated were not covered by insurance for my dental treatment. At this time the Delta Dental agent was furious over my mistreatment and hers and told me an immediate claim was going to be filed against this dental office for noncompliance to the rules and regulations an acceptable dental practice needs to follow...no exceptions...and Creekside Dental did not meet that criteria. The claim against Creekside Dental has been filed on 9-28-2022. Also the treatment plan they had originally prepared for me was altered while I sat in the other room when they realized my insurance was going to pay 100% of my bill and they would get any extra money from me....but I was still covered at 100%. I should also state....while sitting in the room, before my treatment was denied, I noticed how filthy the baseboards in the room were....this dental office could use a good cleaning. Be very careful going to Creekside Dental...it's bad when even the insurance companies file a claim against them... YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

Creekside Dental is without a doubt the best dental and orthodontics office I've ever visited. Everyone is incredibly friendly, patient, and thorough in their work. It is evident that the dentists and orthodontists at Creekside will not hesitate to go the extra mile to ensure that each procedure is completed to perfection. Unlike other offices in the area, I've never felt rushed at Creekside. During my root canal, the ortho took the time to explain every step of the procedure and not one individual hesitated to answer any questions I had. Everyone at Creekside displays professionalism and demonstrates a work ethic that promotes open communication as well as respect among employees. I will happily be returning to Creekside for my next checkup.

It's ridiculous. They have a kind of sales pitching attitude. For general cleaning appointment, I went there yesterday and heard that I need a kind of semi-deep cleaning, a special cleaning. But I just wanted general cleaning that my dental insurance provides two times in a year. And also past visit, the dentist didn't mention about any special cleaning. But the staff insisted that I needed to have the special cleaning and pay $77 plus copayment $4. I insisted to have a general cleaning but the staff asked me to see their dentist to get approval for the general cleaning. Ridiculous! What the heck approval for a general cleaning from dentist! For last 2 years, they have split my appointment, for instance, a x-ray exam and check for the first appointment, and 6 months later, either a deep cleaning or a special cleaning for the second appointment. It's their pattern according to my experience for last two years. Usually, most dentists do the x-ray exam and cleaning at the same day. But they do not.

Beware...I paid for my daughters braces and retainer here...after years of wearing braces and unsatisfactory care/results we decided after they were removed to go elsewhere. They refused to refund me for the retainer...id call that theft

Well, what can I say.... best dental office around. We drive in to see Dr. Tanioka from San Diego and it is worth the trip! My husband and kids are patients as well. The staff is kind and efficient. Came in for my yearly cleaning. Preferred not to do an X-ray and gum measurements (painful for me). Was told that it is mandatory to do an X-ray in the state of CA and that a cleaning can't be done without the poking of my gums. I left, I'm not going to be mandated to do an X-ray. Also, 15 min late in bringing me back. As a patient, I can refuse certain things, I expected some level of accommodation, not just "it's mandatory and we can't do your cleaning without the gum measuring", although the assistant was apologetic, still didn't change the situation.

Creekside Dental is an amazing place!! I am not sure why it is so difficult to find a good dentist office that has a skilled dentist and a staff that is good at running the office. But this office has both!! Plus, the staff is courteous and happy. It is a rare find to have all of these qualities within the same office! I have had dental issues since I was young. Recently I needed to have all of my teeth capped. They did an absolutely fabulous job!!!
