Dr. Helen is not only a pediatric dentist but also a mom of three wonderful girls (including identical twins). She was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and completed her dental education at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, where she received a 2 year Health Professions Scholarship from the U.S. Army and earned her DMD degree in 2006. She then went on to serve two years as Captain as a general dentist at Fort Eustis, VA. Subsequently, Dr. Helen moved back to New York to join a practice focusing primarily on children and patients with special needs; she then immediately realized her most enjoyable days were spent treating toddlers and children. With her heart set on pediatric dentistry, she went on to pursue her pediatric specialty training at St. Christophers Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center. There, she received extensive training in treating children with special needs, pediatric trauma care, sedation and hospital dentistry. In addition to her love of pediatrics, Dr. Helen participates in the annual Give Kids A Smile day and is a volunteer with TeamSmile, donating her time helping low-income children receive free dental care.
Dr. Helen is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Not only is she Board Certified in Pediatric Dentistry, but she is also a Certified Scuba Diver. In her free time, she loves baking and reading thrillers but her greatest joy is spending time with her daughters in New Jersey.

Dr. Johe has completed an extensive three year program in clinical orthodontics while simultaneously participating in the prestigious Dental Scientist Award research program at Rutgers University. Dr. Johe is a licensed specialist in orthodontics. He has also completed a 2 year program in the study of temporomandibular joint disorders (TMDs). Dr. Johe has served as president of the New Jersey Association of Orthodontists, is currently on its executive board, and practices the most modern orthodontic techniques currently available with the goal of achieving the best results possible for his patients. Dr. Johe has been providing personalized expert orthodontic care to THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN AND ADULTS FOR OVER 20 YEARS. That's right, Dr. Johe treats adults too!
Dr. Johe, the grand-child of a holocaust survivor, was born in Germany and emigrated as a young child to the great state of New Jersey. A long term resident of Northern New Jersey and an avid hiker and cyclist, Dr. Johe is active in promoting and maintaining the natural beauty of the local area for our future generations.

Horrible experience trying to make appointment, insured patient but $100 fee just for coming for consultation regardless of doctor referral unless their doctor referrals you then it's waved. Excellent program for retaining new patients.

The staff and docs are all so nice and great with the kids. None of the usual wait time or hassles for appointment changes. Only issue is it's so good it's super popular and appointments after school can be hard to come by

I took my kids to them for the first today and we love the team at creating smiles . Very professional and kids friendly . One of my kids has autism , they did a great job with him and advised me on how to care for his dental needs . When we got home my kids were already asking me when they can go back to the new dentist . . I highly recommend this place for your kids .

CreatingSmiles is a great pediatric dental office to take your children to. This was our child's very first visit to the dental office. Immediately you are greeted with great hospitality and friendliness by the staff that puts you and your child at ease. Dr. Helen's expertise in the area of pediatric dentistry is above par and she thoroughly explains everything while keeping your child entertained. My 2-year old enjoy the visit so much! You'll leave knowing she provided the best care to your child. We look forward to our next 6 month visit.

My daughter enjoy going to the creating smiles. She likes all the staff and definitely enjoy choosing the toothpaste that for her cleaning session. She loves that one of the room has a princess color theme. We are usually in and out without much waiting. The staffs are always friendly and accommodating. They help ease any stress whenever my daughter is there.

My son and daughter see Dr. Hellen for their dental care. They both look forward to their dental visits which speaks a lot to the doctor and the office staff who are all accommodating, welcoming in addition to making the kids comfortable at the dentust's chair

Dr. Helen and her staff are truly amazing with kids. I've been taking both of my kids to her since they first got their teeth and I can't imagine a better dentist. She truly has a way to put the kids at ease, while also being quick, yet still thorough. My 4 yo son has totally warmed up to her and cleanings are no longer dreaded by him or me. Hopefully my 2yo will follow suit, but knowing Dr Helen it should be no problem.

We have been going here for over 6 years now. My daughter absolutely LOVES Dr Helen and she always looks forward to her next visit. She literally cannot wait 6 months for her checkup, it's hilarious! Dr Helen is the sweetest dentist and makes her always feel comfortable and at ease. My daughter loves the bright, colorful rooms and the office is immaculate! I highly recommend Creating Smiles (and already have to many friends).

Creating Smiles is an amazing place for children's dentistry and orthodontics. Dr. Helen and Dr. J are both amazing doctors. They have wonderful "bedside manner" and strive to develop rapport with both the children and the parents to put them at ease. Dr. Helen is especially sweet and has the patience of a saint! The office itself is new, modern and always clean! The other staff is always pleasant, accommodating, helpful and sweet. HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommended!!
