Melissas career in dentistry spans well over 25 years so far, and she never gets tired of seeing patients happy smiles once theyve completed their treatment. Originally from Munster, she attended the University of Southern Indiana for her college education.
Melissa has two sons who are both very devoted to baseball and one daughter who is a bookworm and currently attending dental school. In her spare time, she loves traveling with her family, seeing new places, and decorating her home for the holidays. Her favorite channel is HGTV the shows give her so many ideas! In the future, shes really looking forward to going skydiving with her daughter.
Skye has been a member of the Creating Smiles, PC team for over 25 years so far. She studied at Indiana University Northwest and is certified in both CPR and radiology. She really enjoys working closely with patients and helping them overcome any fears or anxieties they have through the power of sedation dentistry.
Originally from Hobart, Skye has one daughter in college who is studying elementary education and another daughter who is currently a senior in high school. Outside of the dental office, her top passions are reading and adopting senior animals.
A Chicago native, Saras career in oral healthcare covers a full decade so far. She attended Olympia College for her education and is trained in coronal polishing, dental sealants, radiology, and CPR. Her favorite part of this job is an easy answer being able to give patients their confident smiles back is so rewarding!
Megan is from Valparaiso, IN originally, and she studied dentistry at Indiana University Northwest. She is also trained in CPR and radiology. Today, what she loves most about her job is being able to help patients achieve such healthy smiles.
Outside of work, Megan loves spending time with her sisters (one of whom is her twin) and her three cats. Her biggest personal interests include basketball, softball, and watching movies. Heres an interesting fact about her: shes never cut her hair before!

Dr. Kapers has been practicing dentistry since 1993, and he never gets tired of helping patients change their lives through high-quality oral healthcare. He takes pride in spending a lot of one-on-one time with each patient, discussing their unique needs and creating one-of-a-kind treatment plans that exceed expectations.
While he was in elementary school, Dr. Kapers went to an explorer group and got to visit a dentists office. Seeing the dentist work and interact with the patients had such a strong impression on him that he was inspired to follow in the mans footsteps. He made the decision to become a dentist in the 4th grade--and all these years later, Dr. Kapers is still 100% confident he made the right choice!
He completed both his undergraduate and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees at Indiana University. Today, he is very passionate about continuing education and takes an average of 100+ hours each year in advanced courses on new technologies. He has a particular interest in sedation dentistry (he is trained in DOCS sedation) and dental implants.
Dr. Kapers is married to his high school sweetheart, Melissa, who has worked here in his dental office ever since the doors were first opened. He also has a daughter who is following in his footsteps by attending dental school, and two sons. One plays professional baseball with the Texas Rangers organization, while the other plays division one baseball for Valparaiso University and hopes to reach the next level one day.

Fraudenlty charged me for services not rendered. When my insurance company called them they hung up on my insurance company. They charged my insurance for regular xrays as well as the 360 xray when they were only able to fo the 360 xray due to technical difficulties. Stay far away

I am so happy I found this awesome dentist. Dr. Kapers and the staff are the best I have encountered ever. Can't imagine where the 1 stars come from. My previous recent visit to the dentist before seeing Dr. Kapers had me writing off dentistry all together which caused me major issues. I just had major dental work and Dr. Kapers has called me personally to check on me. Never in my life have I had a dentist call personally to check on me. Reviews complain about the cost...well you get what you pay for and I for one love comfort, hospitality and genuineness! Choose a Pinto or a Cadillac. I choose a Cadillac with Lucy in the passenger seat.

Wonderful experience!!! Doc took time to answer all my questions and help me calm my nerves before the procedure. Front desk, Heather, is second to none, took care of all details and extremely courteous and nice. I never felt judged. I'm really greatful.

So insanely expensive. Be ready for them to ring you dry. I'm sure they do great work, they were friendly, but omg the cost!!! I got work done for THOUSANDS of dollars less at a different dentist then what they quoted me.

Dr. Kapers is extremely pushy, uses your fears to his advantage, overcharges, and clearly doesn't send anything to your insurance provider. I was given a treatment plan that cost $11,939 and was immediately charged that price to my care credit before having any work done or even have appointment date set. The treatment plan among other things consisted of IV sedation($3000) seven extractions($325 each two of which were wisdoms, had no issues, and are not causing me issues), three peridontal scaling and root planings($315), three bone grafts($1400 each) and a cleaning which he insisted be done all at one time. He also insisted that i buy an electric toothbrush for $125 that only they sell. My health insurance covers consultations, cleanings, xrays, and fillings. No copay in network and 20% out of network. Based on my treatment plan my consultation and xrays were not reported to my insurance. After a few days of stressing out about how im gonna pay this i decided i need to get a second opinion. When i called to tell them this i was treated very poorly by the receptionist for basically wasting their time. DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST!

I have never felt so comfortable at a dentist office before! Dr. Kapers made me feel very welcomed and explained everything to me so thoroughly. The front office staff was very organized and amiable. I highly recommend this place!

I cannot day enough about Dr. Kapers and his staff. The office is clean. His staff is nice and caring and doesn't try to push you into anything unneeded. I left feeling like I found my lifelong dentist.

I have been seeing Dr. Kapers for the last few years. During this Covid time I was very nervous about any and all appointments. Dr. Kapers called me himself to put my mind at ease he knows what a worrier I am. I went in and the office was immaculate and the staff was PPE ready I felt safe and secure. Thank you Dr. Kapers for the amazing care you have shown my family over the last 5 years!!!!

If i could give Dr. Kapers a ten I would. He is awesome over Memorial Day i was in pain. I called figuring no one would call me back. I was wrong 9:45 pm it was Dr. Kapers. He took great care of me as always and never seemed aggravated that I interrupted his weekend. I f you are looking for a Dentist stop right here he is the best. His offices are clean and the staff are friendly. I don't have a bad thing to say about anything at either location... Patient for 15 years.

Horrible, they dont even deserve to have one star! Dont get your teeth cleaned here until you get it in writing that you will not pay anything out of pocket. Asked the staff repeatedly are you in network and are the cleanings covered 100% without any money out of pocket. Constantly reassured that we wouldnt pay a dime out of pocket. Called dental insurance, not even in network. Then a billing statement comes in for over $800 for my kids cleanings!!!! Their excuse is well those are contracted prices and we dont accept them. Really?! Dont you think you would let your patients know when asked repeatedly before their appts?! Nope not Creating Smiles. If you want to be lied to and OVER CHARGED for basic services then please sign up with this office! They will make sure to over charge you and then apply finance charges every month as well. Way to go Creating Smiles for being proven LIARS.
