Disappointed and will take my business back to Friendly Smiles.. They had me wait while they took my 19 year old daughter back for XRays. As soon as she was taken back they had her sign a consent which she thought was routine. It was actually consent to do unnecessary procedures not covered by insurance. I always avoid these. This was not explained to her at the time she signed. At the end they showed the paper with her signature and we were stuck paying the bill. Totally unethical. Hard lesson learned for her-- read and ask questions before signing anything. She felt they took advantage of her youth. On a positive note, Sophia did an incredible teeth cleaning for my daughter-- no pain great personality.

A perfect example of medicine turning into nothing but for-profit.... I had an appointment on 21 DEC 2020 @ 2pm for a regular dental exam as a first time patient at Dr. Yen Nguyen, DDS office in Lutz (17553 N DALE MABRY HWY Lutz). After finishing all the paperwork, the receptionist went over my insurance and said that I will have to pay extra $10 for PPEs. I asked, "What you mean by PPEs?" She explained that I will have to pay for facemasks and gloves used during my exam!!! By the way, the receptionist was not even wearing a facemask... I asked for the office manager and I had to wait for few minutes until she came back from her lunch. Not a surprise, also the office manager was not wearing a face mask, and she came out to the lobby to talk to me. The office manager explained that since COVID started and all patients are required to pay $10 for PPEs. I told her that I will not pay the extra $10 for the PPEs because I find it unjustified and I cancelled my appointment. Now, I would like Dr. Yen Nguyen to answer those questions for the sake of all new patients that will go through the same experience: Is it not required to wear gloves with or without COVID? A box of masks is $15 for 50 masks... So why are you chagrining $10 per patient? IS this considered price gouging during a pandemic? Why your office did not mentioned the $10 upfront when they called to confirm the appointment over the phone? Is this false advertising? As a dentist, are you trying to make the extra buck and profit from this pandemic?

I would give this NO STARS IF I CAN HELP IT!! Decided to make an appointment in this office for a new patient exam and cleaning. The girls at the front desk were not wearing a mask, asked us to file out the paper work and we did. While the receptionist gave us a review of our insurance benefits, she asked us to pay for a panorex because the insurance will only pay for a full mouth series. Tried to sell us services like we were in a car dealership. I told the girl that we will opt out for the panorex, and she stated the doctor has to make that decision. Obviously the insurance companies have their rules for a REASON to protect themselves from scammers!! She then tried to sell us the oral cancer test, and we told her no will opt out on that as well... we just want our exam and cleaning. She then told us, the office charges patients $10 for PPE. It was shocking dentistry now became a BUSINESS!! THIS OFFICE tries to SCAM patients out of as much money as they can get out of them! Charging $10 for PPE is ridiculous, a box of 50 masks on Amazon costs $12. When we asked to speak to the office manager, the office manager wasn't even wearing a mask. What PPE is this office wants to charge patients... and they are not even wearing a MASK?!?!?! We saw at least 3 employees and were not wearing a mask. The lab coats, goggles, and masks are all multiple usage. When we confronted the office manager about her not wearing a mask, she pulled it out of her pocket and she said ohh there it is, I have it in my pocket! This was our first impression and we didn't even went past the door to the clinical side, and our first impression was that this office is they are after MONEY MONEY MONEY!!!

I am a patient with creating Smiles and came for my cleaning appointment on Monday 21st 2020 , I was sitting in the waiting room waiting on my appointment when a man and his wife came in to their appointment the receptionist greeted the woman and man and she gave them both their paperwork to fill out , they both left and went to the car, shortly the man and woman came back in demanding to be seen right away , the receptionist said that their appointment was at 2pm , he then started yelling at his wife who he called Mira , reacting in a very hostile way towards her telling her she lied to him about him about his appointment time that was suppose to be at 1.00pm . Then he turned to the receptionist and started yelling and being verbally abusive to her about the $10.00 fee for PPE , he said that he will not pay for the staff to do their job . He demand to speak to the manager , she told him that she was at lunch and that she will be back at 2pm . shortly the manager came in before she can say get through the doors or say hi he started screaming demanding why he is paying $10.00 fee for PPE and he will not pay $10.00 that they need to eat the cost , and he is not paying for anything . The manager was just walking through the door she didn't get a chance to even get behind the desk he did not give her a chance to say anything or get ready to start back working .He was very disrespectful and he was talking down to the staff members ( both girls )I've been a patient with Creating smiles for over 11 years and for a human being to behave like that in public is a disgrace , he even went on to threatened the staff members and said that he was going to leave bad reviews because they wouldn't eat the cost of $10.00 , so sad . His wife had no voice she was in silence only when she called him out by his name Fakher and said to lets go. This person complaining about $10.00 in this pandemic where the cost of everything went up , even going to a restaurant there is a an upcharge fee of $2-3 dollars, to hear someone speak like that in a medical setting is unbelievable . I can ONLY imagine how he treats his family at home , this is so sad, this man is ABUSIVE !!!!!!!!!!! This behavior is unacceptable and the office should of call the cops on him . A short description of this man , his accent is middle eastern , height about 5 "11 and brown in color . Please be on the look out for him he is a danger to society . I will never understand why a person will behave like this in a public place and my heart goes out to the staff at Creating Smiles .

Edit to original review: I had complications with the receptionist communication at first. After being able to talk to Gemma, I had a appointment made right away and the Doctor even accommodated my work schedule by coming in after hours. He apologized for the miscommunication with the receptionist and was finally able to answer all my questions. The doctor does truly care for his patients and is willing to go the extra mile to make sure they are comfortable and worry free during and post op.

I wish I could give Dr. Nguyen's office more than 5 stars. This is hands down the best dental office I have ever been to. I have been seeing Dr. Nguyen I believe since the office opened. They are family to me. I have brought my fiance to see them and he loves them (he hates going to the dentist). They have treated my daughter and my stepdaughter who both just raved about the care and how nice everyone is. I can not say enough great things about Creating Smiles. They truly care about their patients and making the dental visit comfortable and stress less. I get so many compliments on my smile. All thanks to Dr. Nguyen and her incredible staff. Thank you for all you do.

Went in for a teeth cleaning and they refused to do it because I had "Pockets" and need a "Deep Cleaning" which would have cost $900. I said no thanks, I did not have the money, please just do a regular cleaning. They refused to clean my teeth as the doctor stated it had to be a deep cleaning. Last time there two years ago pre-covid, it cost me $900 for gaps and some other cleaning. I do not have bad teeth, I take care of them daily but please stay away from this place. It is worse than a used car lot how they try to gauge you. The same thing happened to my wife; every time in was an upcharge for something needed. Many dentists in Lutz, steer clear of this outfit.

The staff at Creating Smiles is very knowledgeable and has always gone above and beyond for our family. There is a true sense of passion in this office! Dr. Yen Nguyen is a SKILLED and down-to-earth dentist. She is patience, gentle and cares deeply about her patients and will always go extra miles for them. Highly recommended this office, and thank you to the staff at Creating Smiles for always taking care of our family! For the negative reviews... Based on the fact that they were so out of line with previous positive reviews, I am wondering if perhaps the person had a personal agenda. 1

Awesome office! They got my daughter in for a dental emergency and were so good with her. She is handicapped and they went the extra mile to make her feel comfortable. The office is very clean and welcoming. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a new dental office.

I recently moved into the area and was happy to find a dentist who can see my entire family. The appointments were easy to make and the office was very clean. Dr.Neguyen was very thorough and gentle. I even had an oral cancer exam, which noone had ever offered me before at the dentist. Highly recommend. Gemma also is helping my wife maximize our insurance benefits between this year and next to save money because she needs a lot of work. Thanks Creating Smiles!

Office staff are very rude and do not care about their patients and will deny service if you express any pain you are in. Staff will yell at you and when you explain to them that they are rude to you first they will tell you that they want you to get services done elsewhere . Very disrespectful staff they truly do not care about well being for the patients.

Creating Smiles is a phenomenal Dentist! I have been going to them for several years now and in that time I have moved 3 times and still insist on driving 45+ minutes to them because of the service they provide. Those that work here are personable, professional, and skilled in their practice. I have had to have cosmetic work done by them and it can be described as nothing short of perfection. They do whatever then need to do to ensure you are completely taken care of and satisfied with their work. This is the place that you should trust with your smile.
