It is with a great deal of excitement and joy that I am joining Dr. Ann Walters in practice! I trained to become an orthodontist at the Ohio State University where Dr. Walters is a faculty member, and I have been working in private practice ever since graduating in 2013. It has been a pleasure and a privilege getting to know Dr. Walters, and I look forward to continuing her long-standing tradition of conscientious high-quality orthodontic care in the Marion community!
I grew up in Alliance, Ohio in what you might call a dental family. After graduating from high school, I moved to Columbus to go to school at The Ohio State University. I finished my undergraduate, dental, and orthodontic training there, and after twelve years of OSU education, I consider myself to be a true Buckeye! My father continues to practice dentistry today, and I am so proud to have followed in his footsteps as a fourth-generation dentist!
In the past several years since graduation, I have been busy practicing orthodontics, and pursuing my hobbies. I love running, all things food-related, traveling to new places, and being outside. Im happiest when Im spending time with my husband, Dan, and our new little boy, Jack! Since he arrived in March, Ive been proudly sporting the new title of Mom on my resume!
Most importantly, you have my word that I will always do whatever I can to provide the highest quality of care with compassion, empathy, and fun! My philosophy is to deliver conservative but effective orthodontic management of developing problems from the mixed dentition through adulthood. I will even be adding new treatment options such as clear aligner treatment! Please dont hesitate to call with any questions whether its about me or about treatment, Im here to help!

Choosing an orthodontic practice to trust with the beauty of your smile or your child's smile is an important decision. Orthodontic treatment has the potential to be a long process, so you'll want to make sure you or your child are comfortable with the doctor and staff. Your orthodontic experience is something you'll remember for the rest of your life, so make sure it's something to smile about. Ask someone you trust for a recommendation.
Selecting an orthodontist may seem like a daunting task for someone who has never been through it, so it's a great idea to ask for a recommendation from someone who has. Whether it's a friend, co-worker, or family member, they'll probably be more than happy to share their first-hand experience. Your general dentist is also a great resource to get a recommendation. If their children have had braces, ask which orthodontist they used.
Choosing an orthodontic specialist instead of a general dentist for your orthodontic treatment is a decision that will truly make a difference in your smile. Orthodontics is a big investment in your health and confidence, and the function and appearance of your smile. Why would you trust anyone less than a specialist?
A dentist must attend an additional two to three years of training at an accredited university residency program and then pass national board examinations in order to become certified as an orthodontist. This education, along with the experience of a practice dedicated solely to orthodontics, gives orthodontists a unique ability to create a customized treatment plan and carry out safe, predictable, and efficient treatment.
