Dr. Cosmo received his education at the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Dental Medicine and Boston University Medical Centers Department of Orthodontics. He remains highly active in continuing education in order to offer his patients the most current technology in his field.
Dr. Cosmo has published articles in respected peer-reviewed scientific publications and he lectures to doctors and residents on new developments in the field of orthodontics. Dr. Cosmo has served on the faculty at Boston University Department of Orthodontics from 2000-2005, and continues to perform clinical research with residents from Tufts University to createnew techniques and products that advanceorthodontic treatment. He has attained Diplomate status withthe American Board of Orthodonticsthe highest level of achievement and level of quality for his patients.
As a pioneer in orthodontics, Dr. Cosmo remains abreast of the latest research in the fieldand has created several products used inorthodonticstoday. He serves as an advisor for major medical and orthodontic companies such as 3M. Dr. Cosmo was chosen as a beta site for the testing and improvement of 3Ms programmed orthodontic brace system.
In 2009, Dr. Cosmo was integral in creating one of the first-ever cloud-based andsecure, interdisciplinary communication tools, called OrthoTracker, whichallows doctors to share information easily and effectively about mutual patients and coordinated treatment. In the field of 3D imaging, Dr. Cosmo was involved with companies like Anatomage Imaging, to help design diagnostic aids used today, and is currently a member of theadvisory board for EnvisionTEC.
Dr. Cosmo is active locally within the dental community asan orthodontic advisor to several study clubs, including the prestigious Seattle Study Club. He is a member of the Cranston Dental Society (past president in 2000-2002), andof the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, American Board of Orthodontics, Rhode Island Dental Association, and Rhode Island Association of Orthodontists.
Outside the office, Dr. Cosmo enjoys local sports and spending time with his wife and three children. He volunteers his spare time with church organizations and various charitiessuch as the American Cancer Society and The Tomorrow Fund.

Dr. Cosmo is certified by many medical institutions, including the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, in 3D CT imaging. In addition, he is certified in the Biolase system, so he can provide advanced technologies for exposing and managing impacted teeth and soft tissue, as well as Botox for pain management of craniofacial pain. Dr. Cosmo remains on the forefront of orthodontic research and development so our office is able to offer patients the most up-to-date technology.
