Tyler B. Hoelzer, DDS graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelors of Science in Medical Biology and a minor in Biochemistry. He then moved his young family to Oklahoma to attend dental school at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry.
During dental school, Dr. Hoelzer completed a research project regarding the effectiveness of therapies utilized in treating TMJ dysfunction. After graduation, he was accepted into the highly competitive General Practice Residency program at the University of Utah Hospital where he gained further training in all aspects of General Dentistry including oral surgery, implant placement and restoration, sedation dentistry and oral appliance therapy for treating obstructive sleep apnea.
Dr. Hoelzer practiced general dentistry for 10 years and, during that time, he continued his interest in the area of temporomandibular joint disorders and dental sleep medicine. He began to treat patients suffering from migraines, chronic daily headaches, facial pain, and obstructive sleep apnea and, eventually, decided to give all his attention to the treatment of TMJ and Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Dr. Hoelzer has studied with some of the best minds in these areas and will continue learning through the offerings of the various Academys. His best training has been the mentoring from years with Dr. Robert Talley. He is excited to be caring for TMJ, orofacial pain and dental sleep patients and looks forward to building a working relationship with dentists and physicians throughout the state of Oklahoma.
On a more personal note, Dr. Hoelzer grew up in a small farming community in Northern Utah. He and his wife, Ali, will have been married 20 years and blessed with four wonderful children. Outside the office, he enjoys chasing trophy trout or hunting various critters.
Dr. Hoelzer is grateful to call Oklahoma home and loves all the opportunities recently provided to him and his family. He is grateful for his training from Dr. Talley and looks forward to providing continued excellent care for the TMJ and Dental Sleep Medicine patient.
Temporomandibular Joint Disorder, or TMD, refers to problems related to pain and improper functioning of your jaw joints, muscles surrounding your jaw joints and associated structures in your head, neck and face (including but not limited to your teeth).

Absolutely love going to my appointments. I am welcomed by name when I walk in, treated like family and treated with the upmost respect, kindness, and care. When you leave a professional office with a smile and laughter you know it's going to be a good day. You are truly taken care of and cared about in this office. Absolutely great people. Sweet, caring and EVERYONE were very educated with thier profession and position. Most professional medical office while still being caring, concerned and treating you as a person not just another patient. Highly recommend this practice. Dr. Hoelzer was great. Awesome bedside manner. Knew exactly what he was doing. His financial lady Emily, knew her job. She knew how to sell his services without you knowing that's what was happening. She handled every question with ease. Even though she was administrative, she talked very intelligently about their services as if she was a medical professional. Very impressed with her. Kelly was wonderful, very caring, very cautious with how she handled her testing knowing it caused me pain, and very sweet. She talked as a very educated, experienced medical professional. You would of thought she was the doctor. Impressive. Mike was great, fun and enjoyable to be around. Made all the scanning, pictures and impressions easy to complete because of his fun personality. Gave perfect instructions and direction of what he needed you to do. Helen was great. Very intelligent and knew exactly how to explain everything she did with the testing she preformed where I could understand it. Would like to have an office full of employees as competent as Dr. Hoelzer's.

Everyone that I dealt with was very professional and pleasant. Dr. Hoelzer is great. My only issue is that Medicare hasn't paid anything. But that isn't Dr. Hoelzer's fault.
