Dr. Shetye received his DDS from the New York University College of Dentistry, and his post-graduate Certificate in Orthodontics from St. Barnabas Hospital. He completed an Advanced Craniofacial Orthodontics Clinical Fellowship from the University of Illinois at Chicago and Craniofacial Orthodontics Research Fellowship from the NYU Medical Center. Dr. Shetye also has earned an MDS in Orthodontics from India and MOrthRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Scotland.
Dr. Shetye has expertise in all areas of Craniofacial Orthodontic treatment for pediatric and adult patients. He has a special interest in orthodontic treatment for patients needing reconstructive surgery of the face and orthognathic surgery. He also offers all phases of comprehensive routine orthodontic treatment for children teens and adults.
Dr. Shetye is an internationally recognized orthodontist and has authored over 60 peer-reviewed scientific papers and 6 book chapters. He has given over 175 scientific presentations at various universities, national and international scientific meetings in over 20 countries.
Dr. Shetye has received several awards for clinical excellence, The prestigious Daniel Marchac Award The International Society of Craniofacial Surgeons at heir annual meeting in Paris, France, The Henry Kawamoto Award from the American Society of Craniofacial Surgeons, Joseph E Johnson Award and Charley Schultz Award both from the American Association of Orthodontics and T. C. White Award from the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Glasgow.

This was my first experience seeing an orthodontist and I was a little nervous about the experience but Dr. Sheyte put my worries at ease. He was very patient, kind, and took his time answering all my questions regarding my teeth. The front desk and dental staff were very friendly and greeted me with a smile from the beginning of my appointment until the end of the visit. I ended up getting braces with Dr. Sheyte and didn't always adhere to the diet he recommended while having braces (i.e. not eating hard food) . I ended up breaking the brackets on my braces on several different occasions. When I called the office staff to have my brackets repaired they were very accommodating to my schedule and fit my in right away to see Dr. Shete. No many how many times I needed my brackets repaired (3 so far) Dr. Sheyte never got upset and we both agreed it was the foods fault for breaking my bracket and no fault of my own :). So far I am very happy with the results of my teeth and have and will continue to recommended Dr. Sheyte to my friends and family.
