Dr. Aaron attended the University of Michigan and graduated with Distinction with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the School of Kinesiology. She then pursued her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where she earned the distinction of being on the Deans List every semester. While in school she became passionate about surgery and obtained her degree in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry from New York University.
Dr. Aaron is a Board Certified Periodontist, which is a testament to her commitment to the specialty by attaining the highest level of recognition from the American Board of Periodontology. Not all periodontists are board certified by the ABP and she has truly distinguished herself from the others in more than one way. She has many years of practice experience with expertise in surgical services including dental implants, various techniques in soft tissue grafting for recession and mucogingival defects including Pinhole Technique, bone augmentation, sinus elevation, crown lengthening, regenerative periodontal therapies, treatment of peri-implantitis, and surgical extractions with ridge preservation. She has trained with world renowned implant and periodontal surgeons, Dr. Tarnow and Dr. Fletcher to name a few.
She maintains an active membership of the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, and the Northeast Society of Periodontology. In addition to her expertise in periodontics and implants, Dr. Aaron has a friendly and kind personality and has a calming way about her while treating her patients. A native of West Long Branch, she resides in Westfield with her husband and two children. In her spare time, she enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends.
Periodontal disease (also known as 'gum disease' or 'Pyorrhea') is an ongoing bacterial infection in the gums and bone around your teeth. If not treated, this infection can cause you to lose your teeth. Periodontal disease is responsible for 75% of adult tooth loss.
When you were a child did you ever get a bad scrape which got all red and swollen? That was because harmful bacteria was able to get under your skin and cause an infection. It may have lasted for days or even weeks. Finally your immune system conquered the bad bacteria and the infection healed. With an ongoing infection, your immune system never wins the battle. If you have periodontal disease, your immune system is losing the battle with periodontal bacteria to a point where you now have deep pockets of infection around your teeth.
People with periodontal disease have low resistance to periodontal bacteria. This causes a continuing gum infection which grows in bursts of activity. Each time it grows, more support for your teeth is lost. Some factors that can cause a burst of activity are:

Important Note: Your gums can look quite normal and yet have deep pockets of periodontal bacteria. To be certain about periodontal disease, ask your dentist or periodontist to examine your gums for signs of periodontal disease caused by bacteria.
Your general dentist is trained in the detection and treatment of the early stages of periodontal infection. A periodontist is a dentist with advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of the gums and bone around your teeth. This includes periodontal disease, gum and bone grafting, implants and many other treatments (see the Procedures Section). Periodontics is one of 8 specialties recognized by the American Dental Association.

Been coming here for almost 10 years for implants, very friendly staff and dr saber is an amazing dentist, I've never felt much pain with any of the procedures I've under gone. Highly recommend for anyone that needs any kind of dental surgery or implants.

From the first phone call setting the appointment with Cynthia I was very impressed with the friendly and caring attention that was conveyed to me. The staff are professional, thorough, take their time to answer all of my questions and give feedback without ever feeling like I needed to rush. During the exam Dr. Aaron and Andriana were both gentle, positive and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend to my family/friends.

Can't say enough great things about Dr. Aaron, Irene, and the entire staff at Cranford Center for Periodontics. I had a crown lengthening procedure and the end-to-end experience was comfortable, easy, professional, and the highest quality. I also needed their perspective months after I saw them, and they went above and beyond to squeeze me in and give great advice. Truly exceptional customer service and great results.

Knowing I needed 2 separate procedures done - when the first concluded I knew it was in my best interest to use this same office again. From the office staff to the doctors performing the surgery, I felt taken care of. The office is clean, procedures are communicated and you feel safe as a patient overall. Special shout out to Dr. Aaron who made what is normally a painful recovery extremely easy with her incredible work!!!
