Dr. Cathleen Coyne is a specialist in oral and maxillofacilal surgery. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, she received her doctorate of dental surgery from the University of Illinois and completed her hospital residency program at Tufts University and Boston Medical Center. Dr. Coyne was a leader among her peers and held the distinction of Chief Resident in her final year of residency. In addition to her surgical and anesthesia training, Dr. Coyne enjoyed teaching students about oral surgery, a role she continues to cherish today, speaking at numerous dental study meetings throughout the Nashville area.
In 1997 she began practicing in Franklin, Tennessee, and in 2004 she opened her own practice in Cool Springs. Dr. Coyne excels in providing compassionate care through careful diagnosis, case planning, focused surgical care, and attentive follow-up. At Coyne Oral Surgery, the passion and enthusiasm for people as well as their concern for every patients total health make the practice truly unique and allows them to be a leading oral surgery center.
Dr. Coyne is actively involved in her community; she serves on several local boards, sponsors youth soccer through the Williamson County Soccer Association, and volunteers for the Interfaith Dental Clinic. She has participated in several international medical mission trips, and for the last seven years she has sat on the board of Williamson County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children.
With over 16 years of experience at Coyne Oral Surgery, Marlena brings a wealth of knowledge to our practice. She originally joined Coyne Oral Surgery in a front office position with a dental phobia! She quickly became fascinated by oral surgery and began learning everything she could about the field.
While working at Coyne Oral Surgery, Marlena attended Tennessee Tech College and graduated with her Registered Dental Assistant degree. Today, she is a vital team member in providing quality care to our patients. With every patient, we strive to give them a very comfortable and genuine experience, says Marlena.
A Middle Tennessee native, Kaitelyn graduated from Remington College in Nashville with a Dental Assisting diploma. A passion for the surgical aspect of dentistry led her to join our team at Coyne Oral Surgery, where she plays a critical role in caring for patients throughout their entire procedures.

Dr. Coyne and her staff are really awesome. They knew I was nervous about my tooth extraction, and walked me through every step, reassuring me along the way (as I did not get sedation). The team worked quickly and my sad tooth was out before I even knew it! Would recommend to anyone who has anxiety about dental procedures.

Amazing staff - immediately put my teenage daughter at ease and they did a great job keeping us informed and updated through the entire process. Fees were also very reasonable, all in all can't recommend this team enough. We'll be back when it's time for wisdom teeth to come out!

The absolute best experience ever! Called at 12 and was set up and ready to get two wisdom teeth out by 2pm! The staff were the sweetest lady's I've ever met they made us super comfortable and explained every step of the procedure along the way! Kelly was the icing on the cake for me! Super down to earth and caring! All in all our experience was amazing and very affordable! Thank you lady's!

My daughter had her wisdom teeth taken out over a year ago. The procedure went well. Unfortunately, the office refused to honor the contracted insurance rate for services saying they weren't 'in network.' The insurance company confirmed that they are in network, completed a full investigation and indicated we would be receiving a refund check from the provider but we haven't yet. We paid $1600 in advance of the surgery. According to the explanation of benefits from the insurance company, we owed $312.50. I'm extremely frustrated at how long it is taking for this to get resolved but I'm not giving up until it is.

Dr. Coyne and her staff are exceptional. I was amazed by how professional everyone was. During the consultation, they went over everything I needed to know and answered all of my questions. The procedure went smoothly, and the staff was extremely patient and detailed in their instructions. From the front desk to the surgical assistants and Dr. Coyne, everyone in the office was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Dr. Coyne!!

I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed yesterday. It was so quick and easy. Everyone there made me feel so comfortable and like I was in good hands. I've never really had to have surgery done so I was very nervous. I 100% recommend this place for sure. I've already been telling people I know with dental issues to come here. It was truly an easy and fast experience. Thank y'all so much.

What an experience! From the moment I got on the phone to the moment I stepped in for surgery they had taken care of me ! I love this place and highly recommend to anyone looking for oral surgery ! I got my wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Coyne about a month ago and she and the team made every effort to ensure I was informed and as comfortable as possible! They really made sure I was taken care of and healing well afterwards, too. Would recommend to anyone in need of oral surgery.

Very unhappy with this office. It has taken over a year to finish a procedure that they said they were waiting on my insurance to get back with them. Only to find out they never turned it in. Was swayed into a dental implant after needing an emergency extraction. My dentist explained that they should have waited until I could make the proper decision not while in pain and out of it. I was told it had to be done that same day or could not be done. I paid $4000 and now find out that does not include the actual tooth/crown. Just very upsetting experience and did not feel like they cared at all.

This is Today 3/2/2021... My husband needed his tooth extracted immediately. I called the office and talked to Marlena late yesterday afternoon. She made an appointment for my husband this morning. Marlena explained all the options and worked with us in an AMAZING way!! Dr. Coyne's office will be our go to for our family when an oral surgery need arises! I want to say thank you to Dr. Coyne and her AMAZING staff!!! Keep up the amazing work! You have our family for life! This was 3 years ago... My husband needed his tooth extracted immediately. I called the office and talked to Kristy late yesterday afternoon. She made an appointment for my husband this morning. Kristy explained all the options and suggested sedation due to my husband being in so much pain. Her and the staff also worked with our needs as well. My father took my husband to his appointment and stated that Dr. Coyne was amazing and extremely professional! My husband ended up going with the sedation option and he is doing great! I have talked to Kristy a couple of times today and she has always been so helpful and curteous! Dr. Coyne's office will be our go to for our family when an oral surgery need arises! I want to send out a heart felt thank you to your wonderful staff! I was in desperate need of relief from pain on a Friday afternoon at 2:30 mind you!! (What dentist office can you find open on a Friday afternoon!) A shout out to the Endodontic Associates office that referred me too!! You all were so patient and thorough in your care and handling of my case. I would highly recommend this office to anyone needing oral surgery of any kind. And I am in the health care field so I know superb care when I see it!! So, thank you Marlena, Kaitelynn, Kelly, and Tanya - and of course Dr. Coyne!! Job well done!!
