The dentist was quick and extremely friendly. There is a no parent policy which seems normal now for the Hampton Roads Area. The front desk messed up my birthday, name and my sons name. It's a bit frustrating having to repeat myself a few times but overall it was alright.

This is shocking to me. I brought my child in to get cleaning and they told me I can't go back. I'm very uncomfortable having my child alone with complete strangers that I don't even know myself.

Front staff is horrible. They can never have their answers the same. Every day is something new with them. They don't allow parents in the back. So if your kid freaks out getting work done they automatically want to go through the hospital route. More $$$$ in their pocket going that route. Makes sense why they don't want parents back there. My kid has never had issues with a dentist until the last appointment. Also everybody, we should feel happy that Dr. Cox takes Concordia insurance for military because he doesn't even have to do that for us, but hey the front office will down the military by saying "We accept Care Credit if that would be helpful to you for the final payment". I didn't need help with a final payment. I just needed them to show me proof of what I owe instead of emailing me a blurry form and having the front office tell me a different total every single time I called. "Dr. Cox has proudly supported and served the military community for many years." Yeah okay Dr. Cox is only as good as his staff and his staff needs help.

Front desk staff is extremely rude. I was called a liar and over several phone call conversations, I have been hung up on multiple times. These ladies will even laugh at you when all you are concerned about is your child who is in pain. They will not "fix" teeth in the office and make you go to the hose under anesthesia to have it fixed. When you ask for your chart, they will not release it to you or another dentist. After four months of trying to get my son's tooth fixed, we decided to go to another dentist who was able to do it in office within a week of calling.

Dr. Cox went out of his way on a Thanksgiving afternoon to repair our son's broken tooth. We can't thank him enough for that. We would highly recommend him. Highly experienced. Also he's one of the few Dentists in the area that takes the military healthcare plan. The government plans reimbursement rates are extremely low to providers. He also employs the spouse of an active duty military member which means a lot as a lot of businesses discriminate when it comes to hiring military spouses.

The staff that answers the phones are insanely rude. The fact that they had the nerve to tell another dentistry, good luck finding someone to do a surgery is ridiculous. Especially over a child in pain. I will never recommend this practice to another person. Their front office definitely needs to be fired.

While I have heard that this practice comes highly recommended, I suggest the scheduling staff forewarn new patient parents of their no parent policy before scheduling as it came to a surprise once we arrived to the appointment. After 2 visits, I will never really be able to properly review this establishment due to the fact that no parents are allowed to accompany their children to where the dental visit/treatments happen.

I saw Dr.Cox as a kid and always felt comfortable and sage. Back then I remembered him always being patient with me and my brothers. And now 20 plus years later I am now bringing my daughter who is 2. The first appointment she walked back without hesitation, climbed into the chair and let them do what they needed to do. The second appointment she let them do full on x-rays. Dr. Cox and his staff are always kind in person and on the phone and always have a smile on there face. And when Dr. Cox can't be the the other Dr.(unfortunately I can't remember her name) is also sweet and patient.

This is Kate Stiles (wife of Richard Stiles.) As a dental health professional for over 15 years and a full time employed registered dental hygienist of 10years I'm simply disgusted with the front office staff at this office! What an embarrassment to the entire dental field, especially with pediatric care! My poor 5yr old son is now experiencing pain with his teeth due to the incompetence of not pre-authorizing treatment in a timely matter! I will NEVER recommend this office to anyone!! My son and I were given the complete runaround and the only excuse that was given upon confrontation is that they're just "so busy!" So appalling and insulting especially since the patient is a young child! As an RDH, I would never treat any of my patients this way, in fact, I always go above and beyond to ensure my patients are given the best treatment possible! In the dental field, we all are aware of the high turnover especially among employees that work the front desk/reception area. I strongly advise that the business owner replace and well-educate their front office staff before a horrible and well deserved lawsuit is brought forward! Not to mention to do that to a child all because you're "so busy!" Might wanna consider giving a better excuse! Also, you may want to actually note on the bills that you send out a date of service as well as a dental code, as on my bill that was mailed a month later (And noted as 30 days past due) was completely blank! Starting to wonder if documentation and record keeping was even noted in my son's chart at all! What a waste of time and money it was to go here! And now my son is in pain with teeth that should and could have been treated a long time ago! Thanks for nothing!

My daughter went there to get her regular dental cleaning which supposed to be FREE with our insurance. But they provided this fluoride treatment without asking the parents and of course this treatment is NOT covered by insurance. What a ripoff!!! You want to make money but you should make it when customer knows what they are paying for!!! This is Robbery!!!

Can't say enough great things about this place. The entire staff is super friendly. My 1.5 year old was really scared and crying when she was there but she calmed down pretty quickly after Dr. Cox started looking at her teeth. He's a natural with kids. Also, my 4 year old is always really excited to go there because of how friendly they are. Definitely recommend bringing your kids here!
