Digital X-rays have become one of the most popular advancements in dental technology. Patients who are concerned about the level of radiation emitted by traditional X-rays can rest easy knowing that digital X-rays emit far less radiation. Theyre also a great way to keep track of your dental health over time.
Lasers have helped Dr. Kennington provide a higher level of care in several ways. DIAGNOdent uses lasers to detect cavities and tooth decay before he would be able to detect them with a simple visual or X-ray exam. With DIAGNOdent, Dr. Kennington can modify your treatment plans to stave off major dental damage when its easiest to treat. In fact, we can often find cavities so early that we can do the required filling without ever getting our patient numb. People really smile about that! Meanwhile, soft tissue lasers have greatly improved periodontal therapy and oral surgery to make care more comfortable, safe, and effective.
Cone beam computed tomography, or CBCT, gives us the ability to use 3D images to perform your dental implant placement surgery. With 3D imagery, our office can perform dental implant surgery more accurately, safely, and with greater success. Sometimes we use our Cone beam imaging to more safely perform other procedures such as removing impacted teeth.
Of course, technology is just one part of your experience at our Castle Rock, Washington dental office. Weve also taken great care to create comforting and relaxing spaces in which to provide your dental care.
Our dental office offers blankets and warmed neck wraps, which will warm up our patients on chilly days. Our waiting area features a childrens play area that will keep your kids occupied during family trips to the dentist. Plus, with sedation dentistry, we make sure that anxious patients can be comfortable and receive much-needed dental care.
Our Castle Rock dental office features an upstairs area with a conference room that can be used by members of the community. After graduating in 1984 from University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill, Dr. Kennington was employed by Clinical Research Associates, now known as Clinician's Report. He was a dentist with the United States Air Force for 12 years, including a residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry from 1994 to 1996. He left the Air Force in 1998 to join a private practice in Mountain Home, Idaho. Dr. Kennington began his own private practice when he moved to Castle Rock, Washington in 2002.
Dr. Kennington is a founding member (2009) of Advanced Dental Implant Studies (ADIS). ADIS is a group of about 70 dentists from across the country dedicated to furthering clinical implant dentistry. They meet in Atlanta four times each year to present, discuss, evaluate, and develop implant treatment techniques.
Dr. Kennington is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Lower Columbia Dental Society, and Washington State Dental Association. He's an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Kennington enjoys working with a talented and professional staff, providing a relaxed and caring atmosphere for patients, and helping patients smile again. He also enjoys learning. By staying involved in continuing education, he keeps current with today's market of dental skills, materials, and techniques. Continuing education helps Dr. Kennington provide the highest level of up-to-date dentistry for our patients. Hes completed the American Academy of Implant Dentistrys MaxiCourse in Atlanta, Georgia (2008) and is a Certified Associate Fellow of the AAID (American Association of Implant Dentists) as well.

I waited a long time to review this dental place, I wanted to make sure I was writing impartially and not emotionally. I gave them 3 stars, but really should only be 2. I went there with 4 concerns on 4 different teeth. I do not want to go into a lot of detail, so let's just say, they wasted my time, twice, and never cared or asked how I was. The second time I went in was for a cavity about the size of the punctuation at the end of this sentence. It took over an hour to fix a cavity they, themselves, called microscopic. My tooth hurt for 2 weeks, unable to chew anything, for 2 weeks for a microscopic cavity they laughed about. They never called to ask me how I was. They did not take me seriously when I said it hurt to chew water. They told me I should not be in pain because it was such a tiny cavity, not even worth their time to address, but they did, and they were happy to take my money. They were happy to make fun of how small it was and how it was going to take much longer to drive there than it would to fill. They were all full of jokes, joking and chuckling, they get the extra star for humor. I thought it was odd that this dental practice had only 12 reviews, all given a 5 star review. I should have went with my gut on this one. Even now, months later, I have to use Sensodyne toothpaste because that tooth, the one with the microscopic cavity, the one they all laughed at and made fun of, the same tooth that "Shouldn't Hurt because it was so small", yes, the same tooth, still hurts, months after they laughed at me and gladly took my money to "fix" it.

This office misleads you. They lied to us about their costs even when told repeatedly that our finances were limited and no insurance. My wife came home in tears bcs they lied about the cost of things until she was already in the chair and x-rayed. She left without what she came for and a $200+ bill. I went to them to ask for a refund. They said their office person would call me. Nope! No respect and they don't mind ripping off seniors! Stay Away!

Dr Kennington is a wonderful Dentist and Professional. My last experience at a different place was not good years ago, and the much needed dental appointments never happened on a regular basis, but I called Dr. Kenningtons office with tooth pain and the Staff was so reassurring, there were no judgements. Then Dr K removed three of my molars and gave me a filling in the most amazingly short time frame! Thank you Cowlitz River Dental!!
