Dr. Andrew Kim is a Davis resident and California native who grew up in Southern California and attended UCLA for his undergraduate degree. He went on to dental school at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and fell in love with Northern California.
Dr. Kim has over ten years of experience as a dentist and has worked both in private practice and at a non-profit community clinic for the last few years. In 2015, he acquired this practice from Dr. CJ Gregor and enjoys serving his patients with clinical excellence and close attention to patient comfort. He is also passionate about continuing education to stay current on best practices.
Dr. Kim is married to Rebecca who works at a local community clinic. They have two small children and a rescue Dachsund mix named Gulliver. Dr. Kim enjoys playing drums, drinking craft beers, camping, and organizing the garage.
Courtney has been a fixture at our practice for the past 10 years, priding herself on maintaining a positive rapport with patients. Courtney has been a valuable asset to our team and specializes in developing systems at our office to ensure that you receive high-quality services. Her goal is to ensure that each patient is provided with exceptional dental care and customer service.
Vanessa graduated in 2017 from the Registered Dental Hygiene Program at Carrington College in Sacramento. She is often complimented for her gentle touch, and always trying her best to help patients achieve the best oral health possible. Vanessa is a diligent individual who thrives on knowing that she can create a positive experience for her patients.
In her free time, Vanessa loves being with family and volunteering to help the community. She enjoys simple nights at home with her husband Dominic and beloved dog Cadi. If they get the opportunity Vanessa and Dominic love beach vacations and time to unwind.
Ali attended Sac City and got her degree in Registered Dental Hygiene in 2017. She is patient-focused and driven to provide a personable experience along with the highest quality of care possible. Ali enjoys building relationships with her patients and educating them on the importance of maintaining their oral health.
Brittany has been a Registered Dental Assistant since graduating Blake Austin in 2015. We have been lucky enough to have her as a part of our team since 2018. Brittany wears many hats in the practice including assisting alongside Dr. Kim in various dental procedures. She is committed to quality patient care and strives to provide the most comfortable experience for our patients.
Outside of work, Brittany can be found spending time with her husband Jeremy and fur baby Kyree. In her free time, she enjoys church activities, exploring local eateries and getting together with family.
Ernest began working as a Registered Dental Assistant in 2015 after graduating from Carrington College in Pomona, CA. He enjoys helping patients feel at ease when they come to our office. His knowledge and easy-going nature help to comfort patients during dental procedures.
When he isnt working, Ernest can be found exploring Northern CA. He moved here a few years ago with his husband Alec and their dog Justice. They enjoy trying new foods and hiking spots. Game nights are a staple in their house.

I had an outstanding experience at Cordova family dentist they put a cap on my implant and I've never had one that worked as well or was as easy and painless as a process I would highly recommend this dental practice

They literally lied to me about a law that doesn't exist to force xrays for a cleaning. The Dr is good but his staff is low down dirty and rude. I hope he finds better help before they destroy his reputation.

This was a very good dental office for 34 years. I was trapped in Portland for two years bc of COVID. Now he won't see me for two broken crowns now that he or his predecessors installed and are now are broken painful.

Dr. Kim is friendly, thorough, knowledgeable, and professional. I'm confident that he will be able to provide and coordinate the long-term care for your dental health. (My impression on first visit) His staff are warm and professional, particularly Courtney at reception and Brittany the hygienist. Second visit, I'd a toothache and Dr Kim and Courtney was able to schedule me in promptly. The assistants Hillary and Vanessa were kind and professional and provided thorough instructions. Vanessa, the hygienist, was very skillful in administering the anesthesia. The procedure went very well. More visits affirmed their excellent communications, professionalism, and skills in the holistic dental care. I want to add appreciation to Briana and Bethany for their help and care.

My entire family is under Dr. Kim's care. With professionalism, he addresses our questions and concerns, always finding the best solution. The quality of everything he does is impressive. Our smiles have never looked so great! The team at Covell Family Dental is exceptionally culturally inclusive. Although English is not our first language, we always feel understood and respected in all conversations. The staff also takes into consideration our needs and financial expectations. It took us a few years to find our dental office in Davis, but I'm glad we found it! I highly recommend Cover Family Dental!

Dr. Cam was available at the time of my appointment so I got right in for treatment. He was very informative and helpful throughout the process of putting in a temporary crown and helping me decide about a second one. I was pleased with his work and also the treatment by his staff.

There's a new hygienist who is very competent, thorough, and gentle. Dr. Kim is excellent, also. he has never recommended unnecessary dental work. he is efficient, kind, and pleasant to talk to. he is very willing to explain procedures and any questions you may have. his front desk staff has been there many years and they are very efficient, too. Courtney, the main receptionist, will try very hard to make sure your insurance will pay for as much dental work as possible. she is extremely knowledgeable and will answer all questions you may have. I highly recommend this dental office and staff.

We moved from SF in Jan and found Covell Family Dental. Dr. Kim is excellent along with staff and I like their system for appointment reminders. I have quite a bit of work done on my teeth and all I can say they are excellent.

Dr. Kim is an excellent dentist. I have always had terrible anxiety about going to the dentist, and I've had to have a lot of work done over the years. I've seen several dentists in Davis and not had very good experiences. That changed when I came to see Dr. Kim. Dr. Kim is thorough, kind and great at communicating with his patients. I had to get two crowns last week, and almost fell asleep because the procedure was so painless! His staff is really great too! They are very clear and knowledgeable about insurances policies, appointments and payment. And, they have serious and careful guidelines regarding COVID.

I brought my 3 year old here after a terrible first experience at a different dental office. From the very start we were greeted with friendly faces and followed proper covid protocol. The office itself is very clean and sanitary. Brittany helped us and was extremely patient and caring with my wild daughter. She took the time to explain everything with my daughter and not once did we feel rushed. Dr. Kim was also very kind and patient with my daughter as well. Overall I would definitely recommend this dental office to anyone. Covell Family Dental turned a not so great experience into an amazing one. My daughter now looks forward to going to the dentist.
