Dr. Sonny graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelors degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering in 1992. He later pursued a career in dentistry at the University Of Missouri, where he obtained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1997. Since entering the field of dentistry, he has been heavily involved in training and perfecting his art in cosmetic, implant, and sedation dentistry.
He has obtained numerous certifications in all aspects of the aforementioned fields and has provided exceptional care to his patients who require general, cosmetic, and implant dentistry. Dr. Sonny puts great emphasis on his patients individual needs and dental aspirations, and takes great pride in ascertaining which treatments will yield the most favorable results for his patients.

I was extremely comfortable with the whole procedure. Amy the technician was so kind, it was like we were friends forever. It was truly the best experience at a dentist office that I have ever had. I highly recommend them. I actually look forward to going back.
First off I want to say that this is one of the best dental offices that I have ever been into in my entire life. the staff goes overboard with accommodating you and making you feel welcome. the professionalism of this dental office is 100% Grade A. They have the best dental team in California.
Amazing service from Dr. L and staff. Dentist are scary for some especially me and they could not have been more kind. They were very thorough with treatment as well as billing, and Latrisha Robin and Angie were so helpful making sure I understood everything. I'm cash pay and they gave me a really good discount on everything. Thankyou again.
This was my initial visit. It is a bit stressful changing dentists and especially during covid reopening. That said, country club dental did a wonderful job communicating what to expect, what they have done with Covid safety, and how they work. And then the visit was exactly as the said it would be. As a bonus, they are all really nice. Overall a good experience. As good as going to the dentist can be. Thanks everyone at Country Club dental for making the dentist change a positive experience.
Just had a filling done on a TOP FRONT tooth. Was a little uneasy, have seen mismatching results on other people. You truly cannot tell, even with a magnifying mirror. 7 years now and always the best, thank you!!!

Teeth cleaning appt went well. They saw me on time and the total procedure was 30-40 minutes. The hygienist used a metal scaler mostly and was careful and detailed; no more discomfort than expected. She gave me an overall assessment of the level of build-up on my teeth and then gave advice on where to focus on my daily brushing. The front desk was pleasant, courteous, and efficient.
Great customer care. all of front desk was very helpful and made me feel comfortable as I waited to be seen. Sonny recommend great options for my teeth. Thank you all and I would say best dental office I have ever visited.
I've been going to Dr. Sonny Afshar at Country Club Dental for many years. I think he is an outstanding dentist. Just as important to me, he's also a wonderful person. He invests in the latest technology which enables me to be more involved in my care - like seeing x-rays immediately on the TV or seeing photos of my teeth captured by a tiny camera. The dental technicians and office staff are all wonderful to work with. They also work well with my Dental insurance company to make the billing a breeze.

Dr. Afshar's team is the best team of dental professionals out there. All of the staff take the time to really understand your concerns and treatment options. They walk you through the insurance side of things and make sure things are handled right, in advance. Treatment plans are clear and pricing is upfront. They made time to fit me in and evaluate my dental issue with a walk in which was awesome! Anyone in the office who touches your teeth also seriously know what they're doing and take extra time to ensure that the work is done correctly.
Very informative and upfront about what's going to happen to your teeth. Whether it's a simple filling, root canal or extraction, you'll know and understand what it takes to fix it. Also, Country Club Dental will tell you the cost before they do their procedures. Thumbs up!

Dr Afshar is THE best. He cares & cares ....I & my wife have been with him for last 3-4 years and can only say great things about him & his staff in the Cameron Park.I highly recommend him to anyone and have sent him many of my friends.They accept and work with this insurance we have although this insurance may not even give them any money. This is just one simple example of his care about patients.
I love this dental office. The office staff, dental hygienists, and dentists are the best. Also, the dentists are knowledgeable and dont have a problem just waiting and watching problem areas instead of pushing to do things immediately when you really dont need to do it right away. Initially interested in a career in the medical sciences, Dr. Fara graduated from California State University at Fullerton in 2000 with honors from the Department of Biochemistry. After volunteering at local hospitals and private practices throughout Southern California, she decided a career in dentistry was her calling. Her first career in dentistry was as a front office receptionist, which later led to management of the practice. In the fall of 2007, Dr. Fara gave birth to her only child. Ironically, she received notification of her acceptance to the Class of 2011 from the University of the Pacific two months later. After serious deliberation and soul searching, Dr. Fara realized that she had the fortitude to accept both challenges head-on and complete her dental education successfully while also raising her son. Dr. Fara graduated from dental school in the spring of 2011 and has been practicing ever since. She possesses superior technical skills and, with the guidance of cosmetic seminars and residencies, she continues to provide transcendent dental care.
Dr. Radu has been in the dental field for the past 16years, treating patients with the best dentistry available. Graduating from California State University Sacramento, the University of San Francisco School Of Management, and the University of California San Francisco School of Dentistry, Dr. Radu has dedicated much of his career to educational advances, research-driven dentistry, and becoming a quality-driven practitioner. When not in the office, Dr. Radu spends most of his time with his precious wife and daughters and appreciates the trails of Northern California as he cycles through them.

Been going to country club dental for last 15 years. Dr Afshar is most caring and best at what he does. His staff also are friendly, and professional. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a great dentist.

Dr.Afshar and his associate dentists are the best of the best! I would recommend Dr.Radu and Dr.Khoury to every single one of my family members. I am so happy to finally be a part of a dental family so close to home. I love the customer service all around the office. It felt so good to get my teeth cleaned after the pandemic. I have never been happier in a dental office. Highly recommend! I wish I could do more than 5 stars!

I received a notice that I was due for a cleaning. When I called to book an appointment, I was told that I hadn't completed the advised treatments from the previous year. (This included 2 crowns, a surgical implant, and a laser deep cleaning.) The total is over $9,000. I told them that because I am a senior with a limited income I am unable to do that work at this time, but would like the basic cleaning. They would not allow me to do that. I guaranteed them that any tooth loss from not following the plan would be on me but was unable to get a cleaning appointment. Will have to be seen elsewhere.

Crowns for everyone! I truly believe based on mine, my husbands and multiple reviews on other platforms of Country Club Dental they are in the business of giving people crowns. I never had pain In my tooth and I had seen another dentist prior who did not even see a cavity in the tooth. They did X-rays with a little wand and every discoloration in my teeth needed a crown apparently. Dr. Corey filled another one of my teeth, but in the middle of it he advised he had to do another surface and said he would be charging me more. It was weird. Moving on to crowns...Corey started a crown on the tooth I never had issues with. Unbelievably painful experience. He shaved my tooth down to almost nothing and placed a cap on it. It took 3 weeks to get the crown made and back to the dentist. During that time I was in a ton of pain until the crown placement. This is my first crown ever so I have no idea what to expect. Keep in mind I did not have any pain In this tooth prior to this crown ordeal. Corey puts the cap on. I leave and still have pain. I am in more pain than the temporary crown at this point. I go back and he adjusts it, but also shaves down the tooth beneath the crown. So fast forward to now. I now have to heat up water to drink it and can't eat anything cold. I can't eat anything at all on that whole side of my mouth. The bottom tooth he shaved down now hurts as bad as the horrible crown he gave me. Also on top of all of this, I went in for a cleaning. My teeth were never cleaned and I was looked at like an alien when I asked about it. Maybe you're thinking this is just my experience? No I think not. My husband had the exact same experience. Big shocker they told him he needed crowns as well. He had to have a root canal after Dr. Corey did one of his crowns. I'm assuming I also need a root canal due to my botched crown. Read online reviews about country club dental on other platforms, aside from their website. Many people are complaining about the same thing I am. These people Are in a nicer area of town and are praying on peoples pocketbooks with the whole crown scam. I guarantee most of the crowns they do are unnecessary. So here I am with pain in my teeth everyday, but I am waiting until my dental provider changes so I can go somewhere where the dentist isn't ruining peoples teeth and scamming it's patients. I would rather wait in pain then let them fix my whole mouth for free

I was going here but I had an appt during Covid in May 2020 and they never contacted me or ever rescheduled an appt. I was looking at another dentist's reviews and see Dr. Fara posted a negative review of another dentist which sure looks bad on Country Club's reputation. Why would an adult do such a thing to another dentist? I'm leaving this practice.

This is by far the worst dental facility anywhere in the world! The staff are rude, the technicians that take dental xrays are incompetent and the dentist himself doesn't have a clue. I have never been in so much pain my entire life after getting a crown done at country club dental. A year later it fell off. I was given about 40 xrays with no lead vest. If you enjoy your smile and health please don't go here.
