Dr. Counihan received his dental training at The University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California. He served in student leadership through dental school and was recognized with awards for clinical excellence. Dr. Counihan was also inducted into the OKU dental honor society. Since graduation, he has practiced general dentistry in Yuba City and Rocklin, CA. Dr. Counihan has enjoyed pursuing further education in sedation dentistry, Invisalign, Implantology and advanced bone grafting techniques, as well as the wonder and gratification of full-mouth reconstruction. He stays active in study groups with his colleagues in dentistry.
Dr. Counihan speaks fluent Spanish, which he learned by serving two years as a missionary in Argentina for his church. He enjoys the opportunity to keep his Spanish fresh by conversing with patients, so feel free to test him! He remains actively engaged in his church community in Gridley, CA and serves in his mens group.
Dr. Counihan and his wife have five children that bring them great joy. Together, the family enjoys outdoor activities like camping and hiking. Occasionally, Dr. Counihan likes to get away to the coast to surf and enjoy abalone diving with his father, which he have done together for years.
