Dr. John Coulter was born in Knoxville and raised a Vols fan. He met his wife, Ashley Robins Coulter in elementary school, they began dating while attending high school in Knoxville, and the rest is history.
Together, the Coulters have three children, Grayson (5), Callie (3) and Caitlin (1). They enjoy exploring in and around Knoxville and just grilling on their back porch. When it is not football season Dr. Coulter enjoys spending time on the lake or taking a family hike up House Mountain.
Dr. Coulter has earned over 800 hours continuing education (CE) hours. In 2017 he was awarded Fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry. This designation follows one of the most rigorous continuing dental education programs today.
Leslie is a Knoxville native and a huge Tennessee Vols fan. Her husband Chris and dog Daisy are her favorite things in the world. Leslie has been a dental hygienist since 2015 and has a passion for making teeth shine bright like diamonds. She loves the satisfaction of making people proud of their smile.
No one cares about your teeth more than this all-star hygienist. She works hard to get the gunk off your teeth and keep your gums healthy. Got some coffee stain on your teeth? She will get those pearly whites sparkling again!
Forrest was born and raised in South Knoxville and returned after graduating from East Tennessee State University. The only place youll see Forrest sitting is at work because she is always on the go! Shes loves an excuse for quick weekend trips and visiting new places. Her favorite people in the world are her sisters except when they steal her clothes ;)
Meet Kailea! Youll find her by Dr. Coulters side, keeping you comfortable during your dental visits. People matter to Kailea. When she isnt helping our patients, Kailea is loving on her special-ed friends while teaching them dance class.
Kailea is from Knoxville and went to Gibbs, where ironically she won Best Smile :) Her cat Ernie is a real goofball and keeps her laughing. When we asked about one of her favorite life experiences she said Studying abroad in France for a month!.
Katie was born and raised in Knoxville, moved away for a bit after college, and now shes back home where shes happiest close to family. And we mean REALLY close. Katie lives on 4 acres of land where her dad, sister, aunt, uncle, great aunt and uncle, AND grandparents live!
They say with every great man is a great woman and Dr. Coulter couldnt work without Lauren. Your comfort is her priority and she works hard to ensure that you have a positive experience in the dental chair.
Lauren is a West Knoxville native and she wouldnt have it any other way. When shes not at work you can find her on the lake with friends or hanging around Rocky Hill. All she needs in life is her black lab Allie, a cold beer, her family, and a chair by the water. ? Make every season summer!
Why would you leave the financial sector to work in a dental office? In short, because were awesome! Rebecca brings a money mind to our dental office. She works hard to get the most out our your insurance benefits and ensure that you have a full understanding of your treatment plan.
Rebecca is from Strawberry Plains and graduated from East Tennessee State University. She has two dogs, Stella and Blossom, whom she loves walking at the park. Going on weekend trips and to country concerts are some of her favorite things to do. In the fall and spring you can find her hunting with her dad in the woods or will you? Her nephew has her heart and she loves watching him grow.
Dr. Coulter credits his love of cooking to mayonnaise. Back in middle school, his mom would always put mayo, which he hated, on all of his school lunches. Finally, he started packing his own lunches, and he got pretty good at it!

I have been to Coulter Family Dentistry three times now, and each time I have had an amazing experience. Each staff member makes you feel welcome and comfortable. Everyone know who you are as soon as you walk into the door, and greets you with a smile. I have asked numerous questions, and never once been made to feel ignorant or incompetent. I am finally excited to go to the dentist! (The massaging chairs aren't that bad either )

Today was my first appointment at Coulter Family Dentistry. As soon as I walked in the door Haley, Caroline, and Rebecca greeted me like a regular! Leslie, my hygienist, was the best! She made me feel comfortable and even turned ESPN on the TV for me. Once she was done, I couldn't believe how my teeth looked and felt. Dr. Coulter concluded the appointment with a thorough check of Leslie's work. I couldn't be happier with the experience and the way the Coulter Family Dentistry team treated me. Before leaving I was able to talk to Kailea and Lauren, who made sure I had a great experience and enjoyed my visit. I would recommend this team to anybody. They are the best in Knoxville!! :)

THE BEST DENTAL VISIT I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED! I needed to find a new dentist. Receiving great advice from a friend in that field of medicine I had my first visit today. I have never previously experienced the level of detailed care, professionalism, and comfort I received today at Coulter Family Dentistry. The office is perfectly designed, it is welcoming and aesthetically perfect. The equipment is as modern and good as it gets. The examination and my cleaning was gentle and thorough. Dr. Coulter and Dr. Anna Birch are fantastic! The office staff and hygienists were gentle and accommodating. I highly recommend this practice.

I had some pretty extensive dental work done involving 4-5 different trips and hours in the chair to replace my front teeth- Dr. Coulter and the team made it as painless as possible- they're friendly, professional, and go above and beyond to make sure you're comfortable- and the end result was well worth it! Annie Grace, Dr. Coulter and Coulter Family Dentistry are absolutely PHENOMENAL. Specifically, Annie Grace. She went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable and relaxed. She is very knowledgeable and explains each step throughout the process. She is also extremely friendly. Overall, best experience I have ever had at a dentist appointment! 100/10

Dr Coulter, Dr Birch, and the staff are phenomenal! I went in there a nervous wreck after previous bad experience elsewhere and I was dreading the appt. They all took great care of me and were extremely kind and attentive! They kept checking with me that I was ok. They explained each next step so there were no surprises. I had two appts and they couldn't have been better! Got a few fillings and I am now pain free! Yay! So thankful and grateful for the kindness and compassion shown at this office! This was exceptional care. The best!!

I highly recommend Dr. Birch and the team at Coulter Family Dentistry!! Dr. Birch is extremely knowledgeable, thorough and talented making the dental experience enjoyable! She did an amazing job repairing a broken cavity and giving me what feels like a brand new tooth! Excited to continue working with Dr. Birch and Dr. Coulter on the treatment plan they engineered to give me the smile I always wanted! Really looking forward to the results!

I recently had to have about 3 days worth of dental work done by Dr. Birch. She is so personable, knows exactly what she is doing, is a perfectionist and settles for nothing less than the best. I am an extremely complex patient and Dr. Birch was up for the challenge and exceeded my expectations. I have had the best care I've ever had with Dr. Birch and her incredible team. Kailea, Lauren, and student Mila were assisting at one point or another with me. My appointments were not short, and these girls made me feel completely at ease. I could not possibly ask for better. The girls at the front desk always communicated with me and made sure to let me know if they had different openings to work with my schedule. No more dreading dental visits with this incredible group of young women!!

My experience at Dr Coulter's office was great, the office itself was so nice, and had a relaxed atmosphere. I have a lot of anxiety with the dentist and was very nervous about having to have several fillings, but Dr. Coulter made the whole experience quick and painless, and being able to choose music to listen to also helped calm me down. Every staff member I have encountered was welcoming and kind.

Dr. Birch was the dentist that saw me at Coulter Family Dentistry. She had stated she was new to the practice, which made sense since I had not seen her before. Not having a favorite dentist before (like you commonly do with hair stylists, nurses at your doctor's office), she provided an amazing experience. You can tell she knows what she is doing. She took her time to perform an exam and then provided information in a way I could understand what I needed to have done. She allowed me to ask any and all questions and answered them and I felt very confident her in abilities. As I saw Dr. Coulter on my way out, I told him I thought he hired an excellent partner and couldn't have had a better dental appointment. This office is so incredible with their entire staff it is unparalleled to my other experiences. They are truly just the best in the business!

Most amazing dental office I have ever been too!! I had very bad dental anxiety when comeing to this office and Dr. Coulter and his staff were so understanding and made me feel much better! They are some of the most caring and kind people I have ever met! They truely changed my life! Hands down the best!!!
