Dr. Rachel Brown-McDonald graduated from The University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2012, completed a one year general residency in southern Colorado, then settled in Grand Island shortly thereafter. She has enjoyed making Grand Island her home, becoming involved in the community, and providing quality general dentistry to her patients at Cottonwood Dental. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Nebraska Dental Association, and Hall County Dental Association. Dr. Brown is now a member of the American Laser Study club.
Dr. Brown-McDonald enjoys spending time with her husband, Austin, and their two children, Mara and Aiden. They enjoy traveling, exploring new restaurants, watching documentaries, and spending time outdoors.
Cathy grew up in Gibbon, Nebraska and graduated from Gibbon High School in 1982. In 1985 she graduated from Central Community College in Hastings, Nebraska from the Dental Assisting program . In 1999, she earned her Associate's of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. Since then, she has been working part-time at Cottonwood while subbing at other practices in the Grand Island area. She enjoys building a rapport with her patients and seeing their oral health and hygiene improve. Her and her husband Mike have three sons and 2 daughter-in-laws. They have been blessed with three grandchildren. When she is not working she enjoys traveling with friends to different countries and also around the US. She also likes to golf, garden, and spend weekends on the boat at the lake.

Love my experience so far with cottonwood dental. Had teeth pulled and a new upper denture. So far so good. Very happy.

Dr Brown was fantastic as usual. Pulled a tooth and prepped to get an implant. Little to no pain. The staff was very pleasant and competent as well. Even major dental work doesn't need to be painful and scary. Thank you for taking care of me!

I have avoided and hated dentists all my life. To no one's surprise, my teeth are horrible and need a lot of work. I made an appointment here after a lot of new pain and a recommendation from someone I work with. I have never felt so comfortable in my life at a dentist. They answered all my questions fully and took time to explain everything they were going to do, everything they were doing, and what the next steps could be. When I voiced shame, they were comforting and centered around what they were going to do to help me not have to feel that way. I just can't say enough in a google review, to show how appreciative I am of the staff here. I'm not as anxious about my future visits, of which will be many, and that says a whole lot!

Dr. Brown was great! She confirmed what I had been thinking my daughter had. She went through everything very detailed with me. I am so glad I found her! Anyone thinking your baby has a tongue or lip tie go see Dr. Brown at Cottonwood Dental!

Dr. Brown and the staff at Cottonwood Dental could not be better! They are always courteous and very knowledgeable about the work they do. I travel 2+ hours to have them take care of my dental needs. If a problem arises where I need immediate attention, they work very hard to accommodate me. I'm a patient for life and I will not go anywhere else!
