Unlike other Highlands Ranch dental practices, our dental office is not corporate-owned. We are a family-run dental practice that was founded by our familys father, a highly awarded college dental professor, who left the dental office some years ago. Now, the practice is run by Dr. Sarah Parsons, their daughter.

Same-day crowns are one of restorative dental services that were proud to offer! But do you know what this procedure involves, or if its right for you? Lets get into the nitty-gritty of porcelain crowns:
Adental crown is simply a cap that is placed over a damaged tooth or implant post to restore the shape, size, strength, and appearance of a tooth. Unlike dental veneers, crowns fully encase the full visible portion of the affected tooth or teeth.
Because dental crowns are designed to functionally replace and restore damaged teeth, they are most commonly used in order to restore a broken or worn-down tooth or to protect a weakened or cracked tooth. Crowns are also commonly used to support teeth with unusually large fillings, in which not much natural tooth remains.
The first step of getting a crown on your tooth is to use local anesthetic like Novocaine to numb the affected tooth and surrounding area. Then, impressions will be taken of the tooth in order to fabricate a perfectly shaped, natural-looking crown.
Once the tooth has been sufficiently numbed, the next step is to prepare the tooth. This involves removing a small amount of tooth and filling material in order to shape the tooth for a secure-fitting crown. If decay is discovered underneath prior fillings, it is removed during this step.
Once the tooth is shaped, another impression is taken to shape the inside of the crown for a secure and precise fit. The same-day crown is then created while you wait, and is cemented permanently over the shaped tooth!

I recently moved to the valley and was referred to Cottonwood Dental. I am so glad I followed up on the recommendation! I went for a cleaning and exam my first visit. Carrie, the hygienist was very gentle and thorough, and I felt relaxed in the chair. When Dr. Jackson came in for the exam, he was very welcoming and explained each procedure in detail to prepare a treatment plan. My next visit was for a crown. I was very comfortable knowing what was involved in the procedure and felt like both visits were professional and caring. My husband (who does not like going to the dentist) was also very pleased with his experience. I feel very fortunate to have found Cottonwood Dental and will be referring my family and friends.

I used to get my dental work here. Around 2012-2014. I must say, the dentist Jackson rude. He looked in my mouth and said, "do you even floss?" I had just had breakfast and didn't brush before my appointment. My goodness, didn't know I would be insulted. Everyone else in the office was friendly and helpful. The dentist just has attitude. Now, I go to Blanca Peak on Edison. Friendly, understanding dentist, Dr. Sarah! Needless to say, I do not go to Jackson anymore nor would I recommend him to my people.

I'll start with the 7 week wait, followed by the snarky receptionist, then I had a absolutely wonderful assistant get me situated (the only highlight), then my experience was wrapped up with the rudest, most inconsiderate dentist ever. Receptionist needs to take an interpersonal communication course and the Dentist must have slept through most of ethics.

I called in to this Dental Center as my jaw had swollen and I was in pain. I was afraid I had an infection. From the moment I called I was spoken to in such a kind and caring way. You can really tell this Center cares about their patients. I had never been here before and I was treated like a friend. The concern shown to me was overwhelming. I was seen that same day. Cottonwood Dental Center is very clean and nicely decorated, it felt warm not so clinical. Dr. Jackson is very gentle and he explained everything. He was very thorough and honest. It turns out I have been grinding and gritting my jaws in my sleep so much it was creating problems. He explained all the options and even gave me a low cost solution. I have found my dentist...although I feel more like I found new friends. Absolutely wonderful staff and Dr. Jackson was amazing. I would recommend this Dentist and office to anyone.
