Dr. Varlakova has been a dentist in Sonoma Valley since 2011, and has chosen to put down roots here with her husband and partner, Dr. Lee Tetz. Born in Bulgaria, she comes to Cotati having grown up in Toronto, Canada, and then pursued her BS degree in Nutritional Biology at Rutgers University in New Jersey. She completed her dental school education at the School of Dentistry at Loma Linda University in Southern California.
While a student, Dr. Varlakova wasdistinguished with Honors in Pediatric Dentistry, was elected to the Deans List, and received numerous awards including leadership recognition from the International College of Dentists, as well as clinical awards from the American Association of Pediatric Dentists, and the American Association of Periodontology, among others. She has also taken manycontinuing education courses in the study of cariology, functional esthetics, laser dentistry, and other specialized dental techniques.
Dr. Tetz has was born and raised in Napa Valley, and has returned here with his wife, Dr. Varlakova. He has been to many parts of the world, and thinksthere's no place like the North Bay Area. Following dental school at Loma Linda University in Southern California, he completed a General Practice Residency at the VA Hospital on Mare Island, where he had extensive training in complicated surgical procedures, endodontics, implants, etc. He performs many procedures such as root canals, surgical extractions, and implants for our practice. Heis also our IT specialist. He takes care of our computer upkeep, and he is our Mr. Fix-It!
While a student, Dr. Tetz wasdistinguished with Honors in Periodontology, was elected to the Deans List, and served as his class Vice President. He has also taken numerous continuing education courses in the study of implantology, functional esthetics, laser dentistry, and other specialized dental techniques.
Outside of hisdental practice, he enjoys travelling along the California coastline, building and rebuilding anything and everything, riding steam trains, watching gold mining and logging shows, and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. DeAguiarwas born and raised in Sonoma County, and is so excited to have returned home following the completion of her time in dental school. She has had many adventures, and thinks there's no place like home!After graduating with honors in acquiring her BS Degree from UC Davis, she completed her dental education at UCSF. She performs all aspects of general dentistry with a gentle and thorough demeanor.
Dr. DeAguiarhas participated in numerous local and international mission trips providing dental care and medical relief to underserved populations in Jamaica, Mexico, and several parts of the North Bay area. As a student, she was involved in severaloutreach organizations, including serving as President of Childrens Health Hut, anorganization dedicated to improving the health of Bay Area youth. She pursued additional certifications in Invisalign as well as a clerkship in endodontics.
Catherine is one of our phenomenal dentalhygienists. She was born and raised in San Francisco, and when she was a child, she visited Sonoma regularly. She fell in love with the Vallley then, and made the move to Sonoma from the city about 20years ago. She graduated from The University of the Pacific's Dental Hygiene program in 2005 and been practicing dental hygiene in Sonoma County ever since. She works hard to educate her patients and be meticulous in her work, and feels lucky to absolutely love her career!
In her free time, Catherine enjoys the outdoors, home improvement projects with her husband, and learning Spanish. She loves animals, horseback riding with her lovely horse Drew, Giants and Warriors games, and plays golf as often as she can.
Grace is one of our exceptional Registered Dental Hygienists. She started out at our office as an intern in the dental assisting program we participate in, thenrejoined our team first as a dental assistant, and more recently as a dental hygienist, and we love having her back in our work family!She was born and raised in Petaluma and was inspired by her childhood dental hygienist to pursue her career early on. She graduated fromGrande High School, and completed her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene atSanta Rosa Junior College in 2018 and has been loving her work ever since!.
As a Dental Hygienist, she enjoys working with each of her patients and helping them to have healthy smiles. She gets a lot of satisfaction from sharing her knowledge and resources with patients to help them improve their oral health and making sure they have a positive and comfortable dental visit.
Margie is our lead registereddental assistant.She was born and raised in Nicaragua, where she attended dental school in Managua.She then immigrated to the United States and settled in Sonoma County, where she lives with her husbandand 4 beautiful children.She has been a dental assistant since 2011 and loves what she does!
Margie is passionate about patient care and comfort, as well as learning new techniques and expanding her knowledge to better serve our patients. She is always willing to lend a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on when needed.
