if I can give to Lora Costa negative star. I will do it. I never ever see this kind Dentist in my life time. Who gave to her license? which school she was from? Why she is still can open business today?

This was the worst cleaning my wife, daughter, and I have ever experienced in our lives. She only took 5 minutes to finish the cleaning for the 3 of us. No discussion on the x-rays taken of your teeth (not a pano by the way, only for the back molars). For my wife she only looked at the backside of 3 of her upper teeth and 4 of her bottom. For myself it felt like she was skipping through and hardly paying any attention and my daughter felt the same way. I barely registered it as a cleaning as I was in and out in mere minutes. Maybe the insurance does not pay her enough for these cleanings and that is why she feels it is acceptable to treat these appointments so haphazardly but for the patients it is important to know if our teeth are actually good or not. I truly have never experienced a cleaning like this and I hope I never have to again and that no one else does either. I urge everyone to avoid this dentist at all costs, unless all you want is a quick 5 minute look and a "you're teeth are great". Keep in mind the other negative reviews as they are only trying to help others avoid undergoing such a terrible experience as well.

I don't leave reviews often but felt obligated after becoming another victim of the scam and fraudulent activities of this dentist office. I've reported them to the CA Dental Board at the recommendation of my dental provider. I'd get into the long story, but simply put, do not go here. It's in the hands of the insurance company and the CA Dental Board now. Under no circumstances would I ever return to this place.

Lara Costa is the true definition of a scam artist. If I could give less than one star I would. I was literally yelled at for refusing additional dental work that I don't even need. This office is not to be trusted so don't waste your time. I will never step foot in this place again!

I had more than one issue at this office. Summary at the bottom. My boyfriend and I scheduled back to back cleaning appointments. He was called back before he could finish his paperwork (red flag, he hadn't actually agreed to any terms yet). His and my cleanings took less than 15 minutes each and it didn't include any fluoride, polishing, or anything besides basic x-rays and scraping. I've never had a cleaning visit that short in my life. The hygienists did nothing, all work was done by Lora as fast as humanely possible. The dentist informed me I had 8 cavities. Now, I do have dry mouth and acid reflux, hadn't gone to the dentist in 1.5 years because of Covid, and had some mild tooth pain but I have yet to verify the validity of all of these cavities with another dentist. I asked for advice on how to prevent more cavities as 8 is pretty major but the only advice I got was to use a prescription fluoride rinse (but wasn't offered a prescription, and I already use a regular fluoride rinse). I find it hard to believe there's no other treatment options or advice that a professional can provide me. They scheduled me to come in and get the first 2 filled, one of which was giving me some tooth pain so I didn't want to wait and find another office. At my filling appointment, the dentist proceeded with filling 4 teeth despite me being scheduled only for 2. The dentist filled all 4 teeth in 30 minutes flat. After the numbing agent wore off a solid 6 hours later (was told it would be gone in 2) I had major tooth and gum pain for the rest of the day. But the best part is that they told me the cost was a flat $250/tooth. I did not receive a breakdown of the cost of filling and numbing but I thought that cost seemed high. I paid $1000 (expecting to only pay $500 that day) and called my insurance a few days later to confirm costs. I should have only paid $212 total for the fillings and not charged for anesthetic at all as my insurance completely covers it (not sure if this was a coding issue or an issue on the insurance's end but the rep seemed surprised I had been charged). My insurance called the office and explained this and had them confirm that they would return $788 to me within a week. It's been two weeks and I'm still waiting on my money and have filed a financial complaint through my insurance. It also seems a bit weird that the filling cost, which varies depending on the tooth filled, added with the anesthetic to exactly $250 in the quote for all 8 of my fillings. I'm worried the quality of the fillings was poor and one of my molars that has never hurt before now hurts when I eat after being filled. Tl:dr, cleanings were rushed through in 15 minutes and didn't include all the services my insurance pays for, 4 fillings were somehow completed in 30 minutes, and I was overcharged $788 and still not refunded after my insurance filed a financial complaint. Go somewhere else. Update on 1/17/2022: I'm still fighting these charges. They suddenly decided I had received other treatments that day and sent Cigna documentation but Daisy refuses to provide it. She also claims the office has never received either of my 2 complaints or the resolutions from Cigna despite the office providing documentation for both. I can't wait to see the forged document they made that proves I signed for rooting and planing (a service I didn't know existed until I saw it on my updated claim). Cigna had to pay me my initial refund because the office wouldn't pay up. Please save yourself from this absolute nightmare. I just want my money back so I can go get one of my teeth refilled because it still hurts. Also, NEVER pay without getting an itemized bill and knowing your HMO plan costs!

All the negative reviews about this doctor are TRUE - IT IS A SCAM. She has only one solution for all problems - deep cleaning (which apparently they provide at the discounted rate of 250) Dr and her staff team up on you during unprofessional cleaning and scare you about so many things including cavity, fluid in your gums and etc. After that they come to either deep cleaning or filling and make it look like you need to perform next step asap like some person from pyramid scheme selling a product. Out of fear or pain may be you would opt in. I almost did as it was impossible to get new PCP's appointment within a day with HMO plan. Luckily someone took me in and I immediately changed my PCP and that Dr's option was simple, it is a wisdom tooth pain and need to be extracted. Also Dr Costa wouldn't even prescribe you any medicine until you don't book next appointment. I haven't received a claim from them, but I am pretty sure they are going to put some "uncovered" charges to bill and going to ask me to pay.

This Dr Scams patients, she told me I needed a crown, i decided to visit another dentist for a second opinion and turns out I did not need one. She also charged me for cleaning. I called my insurance and they made her refund me my money. Don't waste your time!!

(Translated by Google) If I could, I would not give it one star, terrible service from the receptionist who attends the premises, they charge you for gloves and keep the premises clean, it is assumed that when you pay for the service it is already included, my insurance covers me a free cleaning every 6 months and according to them my insurance does not cover the floruro, when my insurance tells me that it covers everything of the cleaning. They steal money from people, apart from doing procedures without first consulting with their person.

Please, check her Yelp reviews. This dentist has a clear history of scamming and doing unnecessary procedures (in particular, crowns). Don't make the same mistake I made.

My children have been coming to Dr. Costa for several years. I have always been happy with her service. All the staff is friendly and I haven't had a problem with billing. They have been extra patient with one of my reluctant children.

This is the worst experience I have ever had with a dentist. It is well worth driving farther away for another dentist. I now have a new dentist that is charging me a fraction of what they did. The dental assistant dropped many things onto my teeth during exams and fillings, and the dentist refused to believe my daily cleaning oral routine. One time they simply did not show up for an appointment, they closed the office for the day and didn't send any notice that my appointment would be canceled. I would not recommend coming here, especially with HMO dental insurance.

I went in for fillings but Dr. Lora Costa decided I needed a crown and went ahead with the procedure, then she disappeared from location where to my surprise there was another dentist in location I had previously seen her. Anyways to make story short this dentist took X-rays of the same tooth which kept bothering me and saw that the crown was not even done right nor placed correctly!! This to me was so infuriating!! What's wrong with dentists? They just take advantage of us.

Dr. Costa and her wonderfully well trained assistant are absolutely fabulous. I have been going to see Dr. Costa and she saved me from really bad tooth decay under three crowns. We found cavities.. Had I not replaced them, I would have been in trouble. What's also amazing is that the whole procedure is relatively painless and she does it so quickly. I highly recommend Dr. Costa and will continue to go see her.

Unheard of, they charge you $20 for the mask the hygienist wears, & another $20 for the dentist's mask. They also load things you don't need... They're money hungry & unethical -- Keep your hands on your wallet & run...
