In 1996, he opened a dental office in New City, where he continued to deliver high quality dental care to families in the area. Dr. Joel and Dr. Dani make up a father-daughter dental team that can meet the needs of patients of all ages. Both of our dentists have completed extensive training and continue to expand their educations so that they stay on top of the latest dental advancements. For Dr. Scheir, his choice of future career came down to either becoming a dentist or an auto mechanic because he wanted to work with his hands and he decided that dentistry would keep his hands a bit cleaner in the long run! Today, he loves this line of work because it presents new and unique challenges constantly, and he really enjoys interacting with his patients too.
After completing his dental doctorate at New York University, Dr. Scheir attended a General Practice Residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn to further expand his clinical skillset. Today, he has over 600 hours of continuing education credits! He is also a member of the following dental organizations:
Dr. Scheir is married with two grown children his son works in the private equity field and his daughter, Dr. Danielle Scheir, works right here at the dental office! He also has five wonderful grandchildren. When he isnt busy at work, one of his biggest hobbies is being a driver instructor for the Northern NJ Porsche Club. Teaching people how to drive on a closed-circuit track is really rewarding for him. He also likes to cook, ride his bike and motorcycle, play tennis and racquetball, and work out at the gym.

Called up yesterday morning. Told them I was having an issue(discomfort) lower left side. Dr Dani was able to see me same day. Perfect, attentive and reassuring. I've been going to this same practice for over 15 years and will continue to do so!!! Thank you all for seeing me yesterday!!

I used to hate going to the dentist but coming here has really settled those nerves. All of their staff is so kind and they take their time to explain everything to you. Every time I go I get in on time and the office and rooms are always clean. I would never hesitate to recommend them!

This is my favorite office by far. Dr. Danielle Scheir is wonderful. The staff are warm and friendly. The facility is well kept and clean. Their COVID health and safety protocols put me at ease, and their dental screenings are proactive and above and beyond what most dentists offer. Kathy, my hygienist is super gentle and one of the kindest human beings I've ever met. She always asks after my mom who is also a patient here. :) 10/10. I highly recommend this office.

Dr Scheir and his daughter are amazing and thorough dentists and Although I am very sad to say goodbye to Dr Joel who has gone on to a well deserved retirement, his daughter Dr. Dani is just as amazing. The office staff are extremely warm and welcoming, and the techs and hygienists are so competent, pleasant and caring. I've had the best cleanings I've ever had since I started going there a few years ago. I travel almost an hour from Orange County to get there, so it's obvious how happy I am with the care and treatment they provide. I highly recommend Cosmetic & General Dentistry in New City. Oh and PS... they tell u you will feel a little pinch when the novacaine goes in... and you feel NOTHING! Lol! They are the best!

I was hesitant to visiting a dentist during COVID, the office was clean and all precautions were taken to ensure the safety of myself and the staff. Well run office with an exceptional staff.
