When developing your unique treatment plan at our Knoxville, TN, dentistry practice our dentists will thoroughly review your candidacy for dental veneers. It is important to note that veneers require a permanent alteration to any tooth receiving treatment. Once a porcelain veneer is placed, any treated tooth will require some sort of restoration moving forward. With that in mind, general candidacy criteria for porcelain veneers include:

A tooth must have a certain amount of enamel removed in order to make room for the veneer to sit comfortably. If you have thin or worn enamel, you may not be eligible for dental veneers. However, minimal and no-prep veneers may serve as a viable alternative.

Clenching and grinding teeth are characteristics of bruxism and can fracture the porcelain used for dental veneers. An oral appliance can help protect porcelain veneers from the destructive forces of bruxism; however,in some cases, our dentist will recommend resolving the problem before seeking treatment.

Small gaps and minor misalignmentcan be treated quickly thanks to porcelain veneers. Cases of dental misalignmentsuch as those that have a significant impact on the effectiveness and alignment of your bite will need to be addressed with orthodontics such as Invisalign.

Our dentists, Drs. Ruth Bailey and Kasey Sliger, can provide you with solutions to the cosmetic issues that make you unhappy with your smile. Our team can develop a custom-designed treatment plan to meet your individual needs. For maximum impact, we can combine professional teeth whitening with your veneer treatment plan to take care of any discoloration that may be affecting your natural teeth.

Our team of dental professionals uses sophisticated technology to ensure you receive the best possible oral care when you visit our office. This allows us to provide you with a preview of your new smile so you can make an educated decision about your treatment options.

Sometimes called no-prep veneers, these restorations are much thinner than conventional porcelain veneers. This allows them to be placed with less extensive removal of enamel for the tooth receiving treatment. Because in some cases no-prep veneers can be reversible, they may be a good option for patients who are unsure if veneers are the right solution for them. Our dentists can determine whether minimal-prep veneers would be reversible in your case. Keep in mind that due to their decreased thickness, minimal-prep veneers cannot offer the same dramatic coverage offered by traditional porcelain veneers.

Insurance usually does not pay for cosmetic procedures, so patients typically pay for veneers themselves. However, we offer flexible financing to help veneers fit into your monthly budget. Contact us to learn how we can work with you to make veneers more affordable.

Invisalign is an alternative to braces that uses clear plastic aligners instead of brackets and wires. Many adults and teens can benefit from this discreet orthodontic treatment option. Drs. Ruth Bailey and Kasey Sliger can let you know if Invisalign is right for you.

Dr. Ruth Bailey and her staff are simply 'the best'. I've lived in nineteen different cities in the country and have had roughly nineteen different dentists. Dr. Bailey tops them all!! Her office is friendly, professional, reasonable and extremely efficient. Everyone has a smile and treats you as if you were family and, indeed, that's how you feel when you're there. I highly recommend them!!!!

Great dental experience. Very friendly and helpful staff. Dr. Bailey worked with me to correct my smile, gave me multiple options, understood my budget issues and now I couldn't be happier. I finally have a beautiful smile and will be recommending Dr. Bailey and her staff to anyone who is looking for a permanent dental home. Smile!

Invisalign gradually brings teeth into alignment with a series of removable, clear aligners. The aligners are made of clear plastic and are custom-manufactured for each unique patient by a certified Invisalign lab. Because the aligner trays are designed based on an exact model of your bite, they fit snugly over your teeth. The aligners apply mild pressure to move your teeth and incrementally straighten your smile.

If you and our dentists agree that clear aligners are the best orthodontic option for you, we will send the model of your bite to an Invisalign lab so they can precisely fabricate your series of trays. Your new aligners should arrive at our office or your home within a few weeks.

Now the real treatment begins. You will begin wearing your clear aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day. You will switch from one set of aligners to the next in your series approximately every two weeks. If you commit to wearing your aligners for the recommended amount of time and follow our dentists' instructions, you should see your smile gradually become straighter.

During the time you are wearing your aligners (which usually lasts between 12 and 18 months), we will ask you to periodically return to our dental office in Knoxville, TN, so we can monitor your progress.

At the end of your treatment timeline, you will have straight teeth and an attractive, confident smile. To maintain your results, we usually recommend wearing some kind of retainer at night. Many patients choose to wear their final set of clear aligners as a retainer.

Our office will take every measure to make Invisalign as affordable as possible for you. Some dental insurance plans will cover part of the cost of treatment, so we will help you review your coverage and make sure you are taking advantage of every available benefit. Also, we offer several different payment and financing options that can allow to break up your treatment cost into manageable monthly payments.

Delightful. Welcoming smiles abound - friendly, professional, well coordinated staff that are obviously 'patient centric' from top to bottom. Thank you for excellent care and caring. I appreciate y 'all.

Dental bonding can be used to fill cavities or fix a chipped or cracked tooth. Bonding materials are strong and can last for many years with proper care. If your bonding material is chipping, Drs. Ruth Bailey and Kasey Sliger can determine the cause of this issue and develop a custom plan for treatment.

Little preparation is needed for bonding treatment. Your dentist will choose a shade of resin material that closely matches your natural enamel. Next, the surface of the tooth is roughened. This helps the material adhere to the tooth.

One of our dentists then applies the tooth-colored composite resin to the affected tooth. This material is flexible and can be molded into the desired shape. Using this material, our dentists will conceal any cosmetic imperfections and bring balance to the smile.

Once the resin has been applied, it is hardened with a special dental curing light. Next, any excess material is removed and the tooth is shaped and smoothed. Finally, the tooth is polished to a natural-looking shine so it blends in with your smile.

At Cosmetic Dentistry of Knoxville, our doctors use only the highest-quality materials available. For cosmetic bonding, we use a biomimetic approach to enhance the teeth using minimally invasive processes and natural-looking materials. The two primary biomimetic dentistry materials used at our practice are Kuraray and OMNICHROMA. These materials produce a bond that is 400 percent stronger than conventional dental bonding materials. OMNICHROMA also picks up the color of the surrounding tooth structure,so patients can undergo teeth whitening and the color will still match.

My husband and I had such a great first time experience at Ruth E. Bailey D.D.S office! Everyone was super friendly, the office was so clean, and we spent so much time with the Dentist. We are excited to have their group as our new dentist! Very glad we made the switch.
