Dr. Wilmer, formerly Dr. Gerber, is a graduate of the MCV School of Dentistry, and has resided in Richmond since 2005. Dr. Wilmer was raised in Maine and upstate NY. Prior to moving to Richmond, she attended Hollins University in Roanoke, VA, where she received her Bachelors of Arts degree in Biology. In 2002, Dr. Wilmer decided to follow the path of her grandfather and uncle, from whom she gained her passion and love for dentistry.
Dr. Wilmer is a member of the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, the Richmond Dental Association, the American Association of Women Dentists, the Richmond Association of Women Dentists, and the Academy of General Dentistry. In 2014 she received the New Dentist Award from the Virginia Dental Association for demonstrating leadership qualities through service to dentistry and in 2018 she became an Invisalign Gold Provider. She has served on the Virginia Dental Associations Board and is a member of the Pierre Fauchard Dental Society. She looks forward to providing high quality patient care to you and your family and is excited to serve Richmond and its surrounding areas!

Dr. Wilmer and her Staff are beyond exceptional. Besides their kindness and compassion, they treat you like family. The Practice is Hi-Tech and has an innovative approach to dentistry, not to mention, the many services they offer. The entire staff are each very knowledgeable in their fields. This is the best dental-related experience I have ever had. It is always a pleasure to walk into Dr. Wilmer's practice (ready with a joke or two). This is an amazing place- the first time I have gone to a dentist and not felt pain during cleaning- thank you Emilie Ellis! Kelly makes the tedium and not fun bit of getting scans interesting and not uncomfortable! And Sara Wilmer, she was also able to work on my teeth without causing pain and patiently explained what and why she was doing things and has improved my mouth health immensely.

Dr Wilmer and her staff are awesome! They are very welcoming and understand the stress that can come with "going to the dentist". At past dentist's practices having Novocain was miserable for me - jaw pain, nausea, headache, and symptoms lasted a couple of days. With Dr. Wilmer ... painless, no jaw pain and felt great in about an hour! She definitely has a gentle hand. I am no longer a basket case going to her. Best dentist I have ever been to!!

The whole team is amazing and personable! So patient with my 2 year old! Excellent service! Emilie was amazing with my daughter and so patient. She let her count my teeth with her and took time to explain everything! Amazing practice! 10/10 recommend!

Absolutely LOVE this office! The Staff is so welcoming, understanding and easy to work with. I have been a patient here for a few years now and when I first came to this office, I was in need of SO much dental work. These girls have worked their magic on me and I have managed to reverse my gum disease and now I feel like I have a brand new mouth! Have referred several coworkers, my husband and friends to this office as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

I found Dr. Sara through the company website where she purchased her laser. My wife is recieving chemotherapy the medication causes severe mouth sores which require constant care. Marilyn has not been able to eat a proper meal without pain for the last three months which has caused weight loss. Marilyns first appointment at Cosmetic and Laser Dental Spa Of Richmond was on April 14th 1 week ago. Marilyn has receied 2 Laser treatments within a week and is already able to eat foods that she couldn't eat previously. Her mouth pain is diminished significantly after only two treatments. She is looking forward to returning next week.

First time visit and I was very impressed. The lengths that each person here strives for in being very thorough with each examination is incredible. They also break down each thing that they are doing so the patients have a better understanding of how and why these things are important. On top of these things you won't find a cleaner dental office around. Haven't been to the dentist in years but will definitely keep coming back here.
