I value the opportunity to connect with people beyond their teeth. I love the stories that every patient brings with them and how they include my team and me in their lives. I look forward to learning who each patient is and find that listening to them not only gives me insight into how best to help them with their oral health but it also helps me better understand the world.
I got into dentistry by accident. I always enjoyed science and knew that I wanted to be part of the healthcare field. After completing a Bachelor of Science in Biology, at Columbus State University in Columbus, GA, I went to work for a dentist as their assistant. Five years later I knew that I loved everything about dentistry and so I applied to dental school!
Being a dentist means being a life-long learner. Revolutionary technologies and new techniques are constantly being researched, developed, and made available to practitioners. Through continuing education I stay at the cutting-edge of these changes. I can then provide more options to my patients and treat both simple and complex cases in the least invasive way.
I have completed post-graduate courses with the Spear Institute, the Pankey Institute, and through the Linhart Center for Continuing Education at New York University. I am currently taking courses through the Dawson Academy.
Additionally, I am an active member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Ninth District Dental Society, and the Yorktown/Peekskill Dental Group. These organizations allow me to learn from the leaders in the field, as well as stay up-to-date on the latest research.
I grew up in Lagos, Nigeria, and came to the United States for college when I was 17. For more than 15 years Ive lived in Cortlandt Manor. When not seeing patients I am most often with my husband and three children: the two oldest are in college and the youngest is in high school.
I am active in the community, too. I participate in the Give Kids a Smile program and the Nigeria Higher Education Foundation. I also volunteer at various activities in my childrens schools and am a choir member at Faith Bible Church.
After practicing dentistry for almost 20 years, I still wake looking forward to the day before me. I enjoy the science, medicine, and art of the profession almost as much as I enjoy the friendships that develop.
Sunny appreciates Dr. Nwokorie and our teams experience, friendliness, and professionalism. When youre here, Sunny wants you to feel safe, heard, and respected. She and our team care about you and your wellbeing, beyond your oral health, and are always happy to answer questions, provide encouragement, and sit and chat for a bit.
Sunny is a single mother of five children, three stepchildren, and one young grandchild. When shes not working or babysitting her grandson, she volunteers as an Emergency Medical Technician for Mohegan Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Very professional. Cortlandt Manor Dental care about their patients health and well being! Dr Nwokorie has a very good sense of humor and makes it easier to to appreciate her passion for excellent dental hygiene! Chevy is an excellent addition to the staff as well as Cindy the office manager! They are all friendly and care deeply for their clients!

I'm definitely not a fan of dental visits, however they helped lessen the anxiety with their smiling attitudes and faces. Calm atmosphere, and respectful professionals very attentive.. Highly recommend!

Going to the dentist was often a scary and anxiety-inducing experience for me. But that changed when I began seeing Dr. Nowokorie. She immediately put me at ease with her compassion, calm demeanor, and delightful sense of humor. She has a light touch, takes her time, patiently answers any and all questions, and will gladly talk you through the steps of any procedure. Sunny, the office's front-desk administrator, warmly greets patients, and her professionalism makes dealing with the practice a pleasure. Most important, both Dr. Nowokorie and Sunny clearly care about each patient's well-being and go out their way to make each one feel comfortable.

Dr. Iffy is my favorite dentist of all time. Never Before have I looked forward to coming to the dentist but I always enjoy my visit. She is caring, kind and always shares an amazing smile and am infectious laugh, not to mention her skill and expertise in dentistry. She never does More than she needs to, or less and she is incredibly trustworthy. The office is well run, and I feel safe there, even I'm these days of the pandemic. Cortlandt Manor Dentistry was cautious with there reopening and takes every precaution to protect their patients and ,I trust and hope, themselves. A special shoutout to office manager Sunny who is expert at keeping on top of appointments, sending reminders, handling insurance and always making us feel welcome and cared for. I highly Recommend Dr. Iffy and her crew!

Excellent POST-COVID experience in June 2020. Dr Nwokorie has all the rigid protocols in place and her experience and her professional and calm demeanor makes this Dental Practice the BEST in the area. I would also like to point out that her staff is Top Notch as well.

Doc Nwokerie and her staff do amazing work. Their covid protocols are up to par and make you feel completely safe. Everyone is friendly and they always remind you about appointments. And as someone without dental insurance they work with you to find you the most savings they can! Also when you have a dental emergency they fit you in ASAP!
