Axis Health System is a private, nonprofit healthcare organization established in 1960, providing healthcare to residents of Montezuma, La Plata, Archuleta, Dolores and San Juan counties. Axis Health System provides the care people need when they need it.

Depending on the clinic you choose, the professionals on your team will vary. However, all of our clinics provide a variety of support to help you get well and stay well.

Ended up needing 2 different emergency appt and they are extremely fast at getting you in and seen. The dentist is fantastic, he truly takes his time looking for the issue and giving you a detailed treatment plan! This whole office is amazing!

So far so good. Very informative and professional. Still have an extraction and deep cleaning to do so I'm only giving my opinion on my initial visit. Time will tell but I do feel confident that they will continue to do a professional and considerate job

My esperience was five star, for sure! The receptionist at the front desk was pleasant and had a calmness about her that was nice. The hygienist was awesome....I was so nervous at first that I didn't catch her name. She was professional, very thorough, caring, and on top of all that, she had a sense of humor, all of which quickly put me at ease. She did an excellent job of cleaning my teeth and explained things very well. My gums are already feeling and looking better.

It's been a long long time since I had been to a dentist. I was terrified leading up to my appointment. Even when we got there I wanted to leave I'm so glad I didn't! Made my visit so nice and they were so happy to help. If I would have had any other experience then the one they gave me I would have never gone back to them or anybody. Thank you so much and I'm happy to say I'm actually excited for my next visit.

I'm so grateful for the Cortez Oral Health Clinic! They were able to get me in the next day for an emergency filling replacement. I had a filling that had fallen out during traveling (originally from a Dentist office in Boulder) that was causing me discomfort. This office was able to set a new filling even more secure than the one I had before. Super friendly staff and very warm vibes.

SOOOO AWESOME!!! Very gentle, kept asking me if I was comfortable. Had a tooth pulled and there was no pain. If you need a dentist this is the one you want.

Had a tooth pulled yesterday. Dr Vreeken and his staff were amazing! Absolutely no pain whilst being pulled and woke up this morning as if nothing had happened! Thank you so much! Cannot recommend highly enough!

Dr. Joseph D. Vreeken is a gentleman with great skill. His staffs and assistants are all beautiful and helpful. It only took him 40 minutes to set up a crown for me. It was a no pain, no drug and comfortable experience.

Well, Dr. Vreeken is my hero! I had a broken tooth, which had a crown, which had had a root canal many years ago. So, it required an extraction of what was left of the tooth. It wasn't easy, because the tooth had bonded to my bone. Dr. Vreeken was so very gentle, and kind, and careful, and I think he gave me a gallon of Novocain (LOL, and just kidding, but I did need a lot), because I wouldn't go numb... even with that he was super gentle. Also, he gave me affordable options for replacement, in my case I chose a Maryland bridge... which I'll get in about a week and a half. Super staff, affordable options, zero upsell on all of the things dentists like to charge hundreds of dollars extra for. He is fixing my immediate problem, and finding a client for life. Thanks, Dr. Vreeken!
