Dr. Susan Sheahan graduated from Nova Southeastern University and has more than 20 years of experience. She was awarded a United States Air Force scholarship while in dental school and served as a dentist after graduation. Captain Sheahan received advanced training in the Air Force, working under the supervision of specialists in the field. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the International Dental Implant Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Florida Dental Association, anda member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. She is an Ambassador of The Breathe Institute. Dr. Sheahan enjoys spending time with her horses and volunteering for herchurch.
Dr. Douglas Wasson graduated from the University of Washington Dental School and entered the United States Air Force, where he served for 23 years. He completed Prosthodontic Residency training and a Masters Degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio as well as achieving his Diplomate status from The American Board of Prosthodontics. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the Manatee Dental Society, a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists and the Florida Prosthodontic Association. He enjoys spending time with family, volunteering for his church and fishing in Bradenton, FL.
Dr. Dana Lucy graduated from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Arizona and was elected into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor fraternity. After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University, she earned a Master of Science degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. She lives in Bradentonand enjoys swimming, tennis and going to the beach.
We are blessed to have Michelle Williams as our office manager. She pays special attention to every detail when dealing with insurance providers. My wife and I both go here. Excellent staff and excellent service. My wife has had such bad experiences with dentist offices around the area. We found this one and we are both very happy.

Simply the best dentist office I have ever been to. I had to switch practitioners due to another dental office jerking me around with billing. After about 15 years, I switched to my husband's dental office (Cortez) for a filling and a crown. I had the best experience with Dr. Legradi. She put me at ease right away with her comforting voice and banter. Her dental assistant was excellent as well. I was in and out quickly but did not feel rushed. She is the sweetest dentist I have had. All office staff were equally polite and efficient.

I had a crown put on by Dr Sheehan. Had problems with it. Went back 4 different times. Each time she would grind a little on other teeth. After 4th time she said she couldn't grind on them anymore. I recently traveled up to Ohio and on my way the crown she had been grinding on came off. When I got to Ohio I had to have a new crown because the one that came off had a hole in it from the grinding. This cost me$930 dollars. This should never happened.

Simply the best. Dr Lucy Dr Sheahan and the entire staff are thorough, knowledgeable and all lovely people who really care. I was recently in pain without an appointment and even though they were booked they managed to fit me in (and take away both the pain and it's underlying cause.

I feel like people typically only do two types of reviews... ones for either a really good experience and/or for a really bad experience so I feel kind of bad continuing in the spirit of my really bad experience but here I go...I had been seeing the same dentist since high school that I really trusted and was terrified to change dentists based on horror stories I had heard but my parents had been seeing Dr. Lucy who they really like so I thought I try going there. On the day I went she wasn't there so I ended up seeing Dr. Wasson. They did all the xrays and he came in before my cleaning which I thought was weird because my other dentist normally came in after my cleaning was done and he preceded to tell me that I had SEVEN cavities ...I repeat SEVEN cavities . I thought he was kidding honestly that he was going to eventually say "haha just kidding you only have two" or something. I honestly wanted to run out of there ASAP but had already prepaid for my cleaning so I stayed. I ended up going back to my old dentist for a second opinion and he said quote "In no way possible do you have seven cavities". He said he couldn't even see how Dr. Wasson thought I could have that many cavities. Honestly the only thing I can think of is the guy has to figure out a way to pay his mortgage. Seriously be ware of that guy he's a major quack!!!!!!!

I used to hate going to the dentist. Honestly, all that has changed after going to Cortez Dental Center. Every single person I encountered who worked there was so nice and accommodating. I could not recommend a better dental center. Absolutely 5/5 stars, would rate even higher if I could!

DO NOT GO TO DR DOUGLAS WASSON!!! I was told by this office that I had two cavities and I went in because I was having pain there. This doctor refused to do anything about my pain. He told me they were not "bad enough to fill" and that he would only do it if they became severe. When I asked questions about why they would do that because I thought taking care of Something when it was minor would probably be easier and smarter than putting it off until I was in severe pain. Any question I asked the man he gave me a condescending answer. He told me that he WOULD NOT HELP ME and needed to find a new dentist. I was shocked to hear any doctor brush off your pain like that. HE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR PAIN. He was arrogant and was plain rude when I voiced concerns. I have never had any dentist tell me "you have cavities but we want them to be so severe your in constant pain for to do Anything" I also was told I couldn't have my annual cleaning which was the ENTIRE REASON I WENT TO BEGIN WITH. I have never met a worse doctor in my entire life!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!

I have had bad experiences with other dentist in the past. I broke a molar 9 days ago. I thought it was gonna be an extraction. But I was so happy when Dr. Sheahan says she could just do a new filling. She was very nice and gentle.

I Accidentally showed up at the wrong office. I was in need of a tooth extraction and a Dentist, The office manager was able to fit me in. She even went as far as taking me right to the X-ray machine and doing it herself. The help around the chair was so pleasent, Answered all questions and made you feel right at home. Doctor Dana Lucy is a phenomenal Dentist. Dana Lucy made sure I was comfortable and explained everything in detail. During the extraction, Dana Lucy was in Great communication with me and her assistant.. She has a lot of Patience and it shows. My visit was very successful, In all this entire office did an Awesome Job.. Highly Recommend this office to anyone.. I have no need to go anywhere else..
