1st of all, i have been a patient at what used to be Cornerstone dental since they opened, then when they changed names my appointment had to be changed to another date (2 months later) because they were short handed. So i had my X rays transferred to another dentist. I decided to just have my X rays transferred back and give this place a chance. So I had my X rays sent back and even verified the day before my appointment which changed from 9 AM to 12:00 noon, I received 2 forms at 10:28 AM to return by 10:30 AM. I do that and arrive at 11:55 AM for my appointment, and they ask me to fill out 2 forms, I said I already did, then at 12:25 I ask how much longer before my I would get in for my cleaning, turns out at 12:45 PM they finally get me in,then the person tells me she cant find my X Rays which were sent there the day before. Then the hygienist says she can't find my X rays and the charge for my cleaning would be $66.00. I said it shoud be free because of my insurance. They get that all figured out and find my Xrays but the hygienist starts cleaning and tells me I should take better care of my implants which I then tell her I never had implants , I tell her to look at my Xrays which she never did. She says oh ok! She did not do a very good cleaning. So I won't be back. Feel free to reach out to me for more information.

I came in to see the dentist because I had broken a tooth. The doctor and her assistant were terrific and very nice. The printout was incorrect with the dollar amount for the procedures as explained to me so I hope they'll be a new one when I come to my appointment on Thursday. It was a good day at the dentist. Thank you

Billing system sucks The transfer from cornerstone dental to sage Dental leaves a lot to be desired.

I had a really good experience for my first visit to Sage Dental. The staff was warm and welcoming, polite and kind. The dentist, Doctor Huesner, was very nice with a sparkling personality. She was knowledgeable about my needs and understood my wants. I can hardly wait to see the dental plans she puts together for me.

I've had a few disappointments during this changeover. First, the doctor orders the wrong piece...he tried to talk me into a bridge but I didn't think it would work so I just wanted the crowns and a new partial . He ordered the bridge anyway and it just complicated my bill and took much longer to get the crowns.I kept getting paper bills in the mail, too, but even today, it isn't straightened out. Not sure if it's just me but my appointments average 2 or 3 hrs. It seems I wait a lot for the doctor.I'm hoping things get better.

I had very bad experience from Sage Dental of Lakewood Ranch. Fist of all, one time they forgot that I was sitting in dental chair waiting for the doctor, it was about an hour before they realized they had left a patient in the room. On another visit I was again left waiting in chair an hour, I was told they are understaffed. I came to the office because my tooth was hurting on and off. Dr Matthew Byars told me I needed 2 crowns to be replaced. After X-rays, nobody told me why this one tooth was hurting sometimes. Temporary crowns were placed, however I still had pain on and off, I thought it was normal after procedure. Temporary was left for a long time, finally I got crown put on. Still I was in pain, finally went back but different doctor, Dr. Angel, at the same office and the diagnosis was I had an abscess and one of the teeth that had a crown replaced had to be removed. It was very painful, since I had infection and it was a very dangerous situation since an infection was already in my bone. Dr. Angel did a good job. From my observation, Dr. Byars was always in a hurry, never examined the source of my pain (always in hurry!). One time he forgot to blow the air on the tooth (assistant told hime to do it). Everything cost me money and one tooth, which I had to replace now with an implant. Please avoid Dr. Byers, and the entire clinic, as well.

Not happy that a cleaning will take two visits. It felt like Aspen Dental which I didn't care for. I think after my cleaning completion I'll look for a dentist closer to Venice

I waited for 6 months for my appointment since i work and it is difficult to schedule appointments around work. I ended up canceling 2 if my work meetings with my teams to get a call 2 days before my appointment to tell me there was a mandatory meeting and my appointment would was getting cancelled. I explained the scenario and the receptionist told me the practice would do the right thing by me and make an exception for my appointment. I went on 9/15 to get a small chip fixed which started 30 minutes later than it should have. When i went to reception to pay and reschedule my cleaning, i was told that the next appointment was in late October (hardly accommodating for cancelling my appointment) I manage an IT practice and have my meetings with my team before work hours not to interrupt my clients. Although we live in a community where a lot of people are retired, that is not the case for everyone and it needs to be thought of before simply cancelling someone for a last minute meeting

I was very happy with my experience with Cornerstone Dental and would travel a distance to have deep cleanings every four months with their dental hygienist, Monica. I also felt very confident with Dr. Franklin and looked forward to seeing the office representative, Holly. That changed during my last appointment with Monica and a very rude and condescending Sage manager. Monica did not spend the usual treatment time with me and did not explain that some extra rinse she gave me would be an extra charge. I will not be going back to Sage.

After 45 minutes nothing was done for a cleaning. First I had to reschedule due insufficient help. No I have a new appointment which I will probably cancel and find someone new. My time is valuable too

Rosa was my hygienist and I have never had a more thorough and gentle cleaning! Dr. Angel was marvelous, too. Since this office was taken over by Sage Dental, it has gone from a one star experience to a 10 plus!!! Excellent care!

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a dentist. I have been going to Cornerstone for years and was very happy. The staff was very friendly and attentive and never recommended unnecessary procedures. That is not the case with the new Sage Dental. The hygienist was very unfriendly, barely said hello and did not introduce herself. I experienced the most unthorough and painful cleaning. She scrapped at my teeth and gums with a metal instrument and then barely ran the polisher over my teeth. That was it. No floss, no gum check, no brushing. I even asked if that was the whole cleaning. I then had the dentist come in to do my exam. I was immediately told that I have two serious cavities and will need two fillings right away. I go to the dentist every six months, when I was there last there was no signs of any cavities. I even cancelled my husbands up coming appointment because he went last week for a "cleaning" and it was recommended that he needed a special kind of deep cleaning that would cost over $300. There is no way he is going to pay that kind of money for a cleaning after what kind of cleaning I just experienced. I do not recommend anyone go to Sage Dental. Me and my other family members who regularly have used Cornerstone Dental will not be returning. The only positive about this place is Holly at the front desk. They are very lucky to have her, because without her I am sure many more people would not be returning to Sage.

Cornerstone Dental and Dr Franklin were great. The acquisition has been a comedy of errors, billing errors, system glitches, right hand not knowing what the left is doing. I had hoped it was growing pains but after months of unanswered voice mails, long wait times, confused staff, and the worst service I've ever experienced in a dental practice I've determined it's just mismanaged. Try Lorraine Dental. They know what they're doing.
