Collectively, Drs. Adam and Jana Cormier offer nearly 30 years of experience in private dental practice. Dr. Adam Cormier is a graduate of Parkway High School in Bossier City, LA. He received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Louisiana State UniversityShreveport and earned his D.D.S. from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans. He has been in private practice since 2001. Dr. Adam is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, Louisiana Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. Dr. Cormier has a special interest in the advantages provided by CEREC dentistry and dental implants.

Dr. Jana Sanamo Cormier is a graduate of South Lafourche High School in Galliano, LA. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA. She received her D.D.S from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans. She has been practicing dentistry since 2001. Dr. Cormier is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, Louisiana Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Facial Esthetics. Dr. Jana has a special interest in facial rejuvenation through BOTOX Cosmetic and dermal fillers.

Dr. Adam and Dr. Jana have been married since 2001 and have two children, Julie Anna and Jude. Both doctors enjoy tennis and attend Bellaire Baptist Church. They would consider it an honor if you allowed them to welcome your family into their family of satisfied patients.

While we do our best to make visits to the Cormier Family Dentistry offices a pleasant experience for all of our patients, anxiety about going to the dentist may still persist. Patients in our Shreveport office remain conscious and are able to communicate fully with the dentist and staff as well as breathe on their own. The sedation process simply creates a deep state of relaxation during treatment.

Depending on the amount of sedation necessary for the procedure and an individuals metabolism, the effects typically last between two to six hours. Because of this we require sedation dentistry patients to arrange for alternative transportation on the day of their procedure.

There are no long term effects of sedation. Patients typically feel groggy and tired after their procedure, but this feeling disappears after a few hours. While patients remain conscious during sedation, many patients do not remember the details of their procedures once the sedation has worn off. We ask you to refrain from driving while still under the effects of sedation.

Patients at our Shreveport office benefit from sedation for nearly every procedure from routine teeth cleanings to root canals.
