Dr. Mark Coreil, DDS is a Board Certified orthodontist. He is also an Associate Professor of Clinical Orthodontics at the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry. Over the past 25 years, he has worked with many children with craniofacial problems, and he is an actively involved orthodontist on the Childrens Hospital of New Orleans Cleft and Craniofacial Team.

Dr. Mark Coreil graduated from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 1986 and completed his orthodontic specialty training at LSU in 1988. He completed the Roth/Williams Advanced Clinical Program in 1993.

He lectures both nationally and internationally on several topics about orthodontics. In addition to being an outstanding orthodontist, Dr. Coreil is also an outstanding father to his three children, Jeffrey, Justin, and Laura, and grandfather to Rye, Reid, Vance, and Leo.

Dr. Mark Coreil is committed to continuing education. For instance, through continuous study of scientific literature, continuing education classes, and study-group involvement. He also hosts continuing education classes for the other dentists in the area.

There is a common misconception that when the braces come off, the orthodontic treatment is finished. This could not be further from the truth! When your braces come off, we will begin the retention stage of your treatment. Once the teeth are in their final positions, it will take effort to keep them there, because the natural tendency is for the teeth to shift or drift back to their starting points. The retainers will hold the teeth in their corrected positions while the gums and bone structure adjust to their new positions. Retainer wear is critical to long-term stability!
