Cordata Dental Professionals - General dentist in Bellingham, WA

Dr. Zweber spent many years as a dental assistant and as office staff at Zweber Family Dentistry prior to attending dental school. She is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, and has received honors for her work with children.

The Cordata Dental Professionals office was founded in 2009 by Terri R. Zweber D.D.S. (formerly of Zweber Family Dentistry in Mount Vernon, WA) with the vision of creating a dental practice that treats each patient of any age with respect and quality care. The assistants and office staff at Cordata Dental Professionals are well-trained and exceptionally friendly. Our goal is to educate our patients on oral health practices so that they will be able to make decisions regarding their treatment. We understand that, for many, visiting the dentist can be a stressful experience. Our comfortable surroundings and compassionate dental professionals will ease your fears.

I have lived in many states and I can easily say DR Zweber and staff are the best dentist and office I ever been too! My whole family are clients and most of my coworkers.

This place is terrible! I went there for a cleaning and x-ray. My insurance said they cover the cleanings and x-rays at this place 100%. Just to make sure, I asked Cordata Dental Professionals several times if they covered my insurance, and they said yes each time. However, when I got here for the cleaning, they did a procedure to the teeth and did something. At the end, after they had completed this procedure, they told me they actually didn't do a cleaning and did something else instead. The people then told me that they would do a cleaning on the next visit. They didn't even alert me that they weren't doing a cleaning but just went ahead and did something else to the teeth without telling me! Then at the end, they told me I have to pay $60 for what they did and so I had to go ahead and pay. I said ok, as I thought this was normal, and I made another appointment to get the cleaning done next time. Then today I went again for my wife, whose regular doctor was busy, for a cleaning and x-ray. Again we asked if the insurance covers this cleaning and x-ray, and they said yes 100%. But at the end again, they told us we had to pay another $120. They didn't tell us before that we would have to pay! Then going back to the last visit, when we had paid $60, they told us the insurance would pay for the rest but today Cordata Dental said you have to pay $120 more because the insurance won't cover. So, the problem with Cordata Dental is that they take money out of your pocket without telling you and say that the insurance doesn't cover that money if though they initially said that your insurance covers all the fees 100%. So, do they do the same thing (taking money out of pocket without saying) for you guys too?

Dr. Zweber ruined my teeth! I went in for a crown; they told me my gums were receding because of the metal in all my fillings and other crowns (I made the mistake of telling them I had a nickel allergy). They proceeded to rip out perfectly good fillings and crowns and replace them with tooth colored ones and shoddy workmanship. Three years later and now I have to get my crowns REDONE because they are splintering with cracks all over and my teeth are hurting. The fillings they did are bumpy and create a breeding ground for bacteria. My longtime trusted family dentist back home was appalled at what they had done. They even took out a permanent retainer for no reason, and then my teeth moved slightly so that they were hitting my top teeth and caused one of my teeth to chip! Also, they assured me that they'd get my health insurance to cover it on the grounds of it being an "allergy issue" and when the insurance said "hell no" they said oh well, pay us $3000 now please. So essentially I paid 3k out of pocket for these people to absolutely ruin my teeth. They should be sued for malpractice and I'm surprised they are still in business at all.

We had been patients of Dr. Zweber's for some years. Particularly for my daughter, I was happy to find a female dentist who seemed kind and competent for my then 3 year old, who had been pretty traumatized at Apple Pediatric Dental. Most of the work she had done for us was just fine, and my kid loved going to the dentist. However, recently my daughter (now 6) had a cavity in her molar. Dr. Zweber filled it, but it later fell out because the tooth continued to decay. This happened again - more decay and another (gigantic) filling needed. Why wasn't it filled properly the first time to avoid this? But by now the tooth root had died. When we went back for the giant filling, she also did a pulpotomy. She said it could abscess, but didn't think it would. Well, it did. So we came back in to have it looked at and she recommended that she extract it. (I should also mention that we waited forever at this appointment to even see her [talked with the tech only for a while], and Zweber apparently recommended extraction before even seeing my daughter). So we went ahead with it. She did local anesthetic, which seemed like it was sufficient but wasn't really due to the deep nature of the infected tooth root. The extraction was a complete nightmare. The filling broke during extraction, so the rest of the tooth had to be pried out in pieces. During this whole ordeal my child is whimpering and crying in pain (but Dr. Zweber assured me that this was "just mental trauma - if it was actual physical pain, she would have stopped" Oh ok, great to hear!). I'm sitting in the chair with my kid, holding her hands, crying also because my child is in pain and they're struggling to get this tooth out. Finally it's done. With any tooth extraction there are certain things you need to do after to care for the hole in your mouth. We received nearly no guidance ("just eat soft foods") and no paperwork on what to do or look for (to avoid damage/further infection/dry socket, etc.). No follow up appointment was mentioned. Antibiotics were not necessary since the cause of the infection was removed. However, I was concerned that the potential for bad healing/reinfection was there, so we did a follow-up today with Unity Care, and they were great. They immediately did an x-ray (which Zweber also didn't do) and saw that a piece of the offending tooth still remained in my kid's mouth. This isn't entirely unusual, but one more thing to be aware of due to her shoddy dentistry. I can't help but wonder if she would have done a better job in the first place if we had different insurance (we have Apple/state insurance for her). I hate to leave such a bad review but I want anyone else with a kid on state insurance to be aware of our experience. My kid wanted to add: the day of the procedure, she was very upset the rest of the day, and doesn't want to see this dentist again.

As a senior citizen, I value patience, kindness, quality work, and efficiency. It is available at Cordata Dentists. Those of us who live in the Cordata area have access to highly qualified dentists, and support staff. I'm very glad I found them.

I'm terrified of the dentist and I had not been to see one in 4 years. All the staff made me feel very comfortable and at ease even during a more intense cleaning for which I am very grateful! They were also quick and affordable even without insurance.
