Dr. Afshar grew up in Burbank, California and attended Burbank High School, where he graduated in 1997 as Valedictorian of his class. He attended the University of California at Berkeley where he graduated with Honors with a Bachelor of Science in Integrative Biology with an emphasis in Oceanography. He went on to attend Dental School at the University of Pacific in San Francisco, a top-ranked clinical and educational institution. Dr. Afshar graduated in 2005 and has been in general dental practice since.
He opened Corbin Gentle Dental in Nov. 2010 with his sister Dr. Poolak Zand and his mother Dr. Farnaz Zand, an established orthodontist. Dr. Afshar continually attends educational courses to remain up to date on the latest techniques and technology, including imaging, implantology, cosmetics, and restorative advances.
He lives in Woodland Hills with his wife, Naz, and his dog, Honey who is often at the office with him. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially outdoors in great weather. Dr. Afshar is a fan of art and design, watches, cars, and travel. He enjoys skiing, tennis, mountain biking, and golf.

I've been a patient of Dr. Zand's for several years. She is so talented and kind, and each visit is a breeze. She will not perform unnecessary work. A few months ago, she asked to fill a cavity that seemed to be worsening and the most difficult part of the procedure was easily me - laughing at Netflix and forgetting she was trying to fill a cavity. Her staff is equally praiseworthy and the space is so clean and welcoming. I will never look for another dentist.

Amazing service! Best I ever experienced, friendly and very professional staff. Saw Dr. Poolak A. Zand, is a magnificent dentist, always checking with me for any kind of uncomfort or pain through the whole procedure. Exceed my expectations, have a few more appointments to go with her in the next weeks\ Highly recommended!
