Dr. Rutsis brings a unique set of skills and talents, drawing on advanced training in whole-body health and wellness. While attending the prestigious College of William & Mary, she earned a dual degree in Kinesiology and Psychology, while also serving as team captain of the collegiate running team. She learned early on, the powerful connection between mouth-body health. Following college, she decided to pursue dentistry, earning her Doctoral of Dental Surgery degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry.
As the daughter of a widely respected dentist and educator in Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Rutsis grew up witnessing the value of doctor-patient relationships, community service, and lifelong learning. Throughout the years, she and her dad led numerous mission projects together, providing compassionate dental care to underserved populations. It was through those shared experiences that Dr. Rutsis developed a deep and genuine passion for serving others. Dr. Rutsis values life long learning and makes it a priority to attend a number of continuing education classes each year. In her free time she enjoys spending quality time with her family, home cooked meals, fishing with her husband, running, and staying active outside.

As a first time patient with multiple tooth and gum issues I was happy to find a nice bright clean dental office with very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I am now confident about the future of my teeth!

I always enjoy my trips to the dentist. I know that sounds strange but Dr. Rutsis and her entire staff are such nice people how could you not leave their offices smiling. I've seen many Dentists over the years, but Emily is my absolute favorite. She is not only engaging and very personable, but always professional keeping her patents calm and medically/procedurally informed throughout the visit. While her staff is excellent I want to give a special shout out to the always pleasant (and funny) Tatiana who perform my cleanings and assists Dr. Rutsis with many of the procedures. Tatiana is the model of professionalism.... and she drinks coffee like a long haul truck driver which I can appreciate. I can't recommend Emily and Coral Family Dentistry enough. They'll be my family's dentist for many years to come. She is VERY highly recommended.

This professional team absolutely catered to my comfort, which is no easy feat! I am a "chicken!" The process involved replacing a very old crown. Prior to the day of the event, everything was explained to me and Dr. Rutsis asked me numerous questions to assure I would be comfortable during the procedure. At the beginning of the crown replacement appointment, Darlene immediately set up the nitrous gas for me and continued to check on my level comfort through the entire thing! Dr. Rutsis was so gentle during the numbing procedure and she was attentive to my comfort too. The temporary crown, that the super experienced, Darlene, made was wonderful. (I seriously could have stayed with that one.) But upon my return appointment, for the permanent crown to be put in place, this went just as smoothly. Afterwards, my recovery was super easy. I am 6 days in with my new crown, I am pain-free since day one, and I feel like a Princess! Thank you Cortni, Stacey, and Susan also, for being part of this superior team!

SMALL HANDS! Not mine, geez. Dr. Emily Rutsis has small hands, perfect for high quality dental care. I was in today getting a filling. As always the services and support of her entire practice was exceptional. I think I fell asleep in her chair again. I can't say enough about the high quality care that I always receive under Emily's care. Coral Family gets the highest of recommendation.

Wonderful staff and Dentist! They got me in for an emergency filling, but I will be coming back for all my dental needs. The front desk staff was very welcoming and kind, the dental assistant Darlene knows her job very well and was very pleasant to talk to and Dr Rustis was extremely thorough and explained everything. I will be recommending to everyone I know.

From the front desk to Dr. Rutsis, and everyone in between... this office is THE BEST! Dr. Rutsis answers your questions, calms your fears and makes the entire experience pleasant. She gives me her undivided attention while I am in the chair and my visits are never rushed. Highly recommend.

Dr. Rutsis and her crew are amazing!!! They always accommodate for our family. When there is a concern that needs to be addressed they will find time in their schedule to get it resolved. Susan, who is a very patient and knowledgeable hygienist, was able to clean my fearful son's teeth with ease. I was delightfully surprised. Dr. Rutsis is an outstanding dentist and I am so blessed to have her taking care of my family's dental health. She is the best of the best!

Simply the best dental practice I have ever been to. From the front office staff to the hygienists to Dr. Rutsis they are professional, courteous and provide an exceptional service.
