Dr. Cope is a Colorado native from Aurora. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center at the Fitzsimons campus, he practiced in Oregon for a few years. Oregon was a beautiful area but he missed the Colorado sunshine and came back to build his practice in Erie.
He was recently a part time Professor Adjunct at the University of Colorado school of Dental Medicine. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, and the Boulder/Broomfield Dental Society.
Dr. Cope will take the time to discuss your dental options and answer your questions. He strongly believes in making sure you have the information to make knowledgeable decisions that are best for you and your dental health.
Dr Nelms is originally from Vermont. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Sciences from the University of Vermont and a dental degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. She and her husband, Mike, moved to Fort Collins where she has been practicing since 2008.
Outside of the dental office, Dr Nelms enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children. They enjoy Colorados mountains year round and can also be found on the soccer and hockey sidelines supporting their kids.
Dr Nelms is a member of the Larimer County Dental Society, Colorado Dental Association and American Dental Association. She looks forward to providing gentle, compassionate care to her patients alongside Dr Cope.

I don't know if I have ever experienced a more welcoming and professional dentist and team! Dr. Cope's chairside manner and expertise is a comfort, as is the caring and professionalism of his entire team. My tooth, as I anticipated, needed a crown. From start to finish I was fully informed of every step, with my comfort being addressed throughout the process. This is a practice where they truly put their patients needs and concerns first. I couldn't recommend this practice more highly!

I have been going to Cope Family Dental for a couple years now and their staff is friendly. The technical staff is excellent and provide the best experience I have had at a dentist. Dr. Cope is top notch.

I called to make an appointment 3 separate times but nobody answered. I left a message with my contact info (as requested) and never heard back. I called a fourth time and somebody finally answered, but the person who answered was very unfriendly and did not seem to want my business. I'm sure the Dentist is great, but I will be going elsewhere.

They were great for the last 5 years until they decided to not take our insurance (Delta Dental PPO) any more. I guess they had too many patients and we were the lucky ones to get kicked to the curb. Bummer

Dr. Cope and the staff at Cope Family Dental are very friendly and professional. They are on time for my appointments and explain in detail the services and care plan that I need. I feel confident that I am getting the best service. My cleanings and crown were done with care. The hygienists and Dr. Cope are very gentle, which is huge for me!

Nothing but the best experience with Cope Family Dental. Every check up and visit has been seamless! The whole team is very informative on every visit for cleanings, X-rays, the whole nine. Savannah always makes sure you're comfortable and is more than gentle. Well worth the wait to schedule an appointment!

My family has been going to Cope Family Dental for many years. All the services - cleaning, x-rays, crowns etc are great. I am most impressed with all the staff. Everyone is friendly & super helpful. Absolutely shattered my tooth at around 7pm, called Dr. Cope's number as listed in the voicemail and received a call back within ten minutes, and was able to see him around ten minutes after that. He was extremely kind and thorough when examining my tooth, went over every single option I would be able to do since I am definitely losing the tooth. I will recommend this dentist a million times over!! Thank you so so much Dr. Cope!

Dr. Cope is a miracle worker, and our new family dentist for life! I had a bad crown (on an implant, on my front tooth), from a previous dentist, and I discussed my desire to improve it with Dr. Cope. Due to some challenges - I've had a bone graft, which limited implant placement - my expectations were a little tempered, but still high - this tooth is front and center after all! I could not be happier with my new crown! The shade is perfect, as is the contour at my gum line. It is indistinguishable from my adjacent (real) tooth. After dealing with an inferior crown that stood out like a sore thumb (and kept falling off), I'm so relieved to now have a robust, natural-looking crown that I dont have to worry about or feel self-conscious about. I've since moved all of my family members to his practice, and I'll probably have him redo my other less-than-perfect crown.
