Dr. Bryn Vaughan Cooper has been a Bear, a Longhorn, and a Billiken onher long path to become a board-certified orthodontist. Sheearned Bachelors and Masters degrees in Biology from Baylor University in2005 and 2007, respectfully. While pursuing her Masters degreeat Baylor, she researchedwater quality controls on the Central Texas Watershed. Thatresearch led to presentations to the national and Texas branches of the American Society of Microbiology, and the Texas Academy of Science.
After her stint as a Baylor Bear, she became a Texas Longhorn by attending the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antoniocompleting her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2011. During dental school, she authored or co-authored nine article reviews.
Finally, Dr. Cooper began the last leg ofher orthodontic journey by joining Saint Louis Universitys orthodontic residency program, where she becamea Billiken. Upon completing the program, sheearnedan orthodontic certificate and a Masters ofScience. During residency, she presentedto the American Association of Orthodontists and collected and analyzed genetic dataas part of an orthodontic thesis project. The resultingthesis, titledGenes Influencing Mandibular Size, wassomepart of the genetic expression research in orthodontia and led to a pending patent submission.
Dr. Cooper proved her qualificationsto a board of her peers in both written and oral formto earn herAmerican Board of Orthodontics Certification. She serves onthe College of Diplomates American Board of Orthodontics. And since moving to Houston, she has gotten involved with the local dental and orthodontic communities, including joiningthe Southwestern Society of Orthodontists, Greater Houston Dental Society, andthe Texas Dental Association. She looks forward to serving patients and networking with doctors throughoutthe Houston area.
Dr. Cooper lives in theGreater HeightsArea of Houston with her husband, daughter and golden retrievers. When she isnt walking the trails with her family and friends,you can find her sampling the new restaurants fares, reading a best-seller, and working onher business.After growing up in the DFW area, she isexcited to be building deep roots in the city of bayous.
