Dr. Kellye N. Rice graduated from David Lipscomb University in 1982 with a BA in Biology, and 1986 with a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree from University of Alabama, Birmingham. She has been practicing general and cosmetic dentistry since she opened her practice in Cool Springs in 1986.
Dr. Rice is recognized by the American Dental Association and the Tennessee Dental Association as being in the Top 10% of the profession for exceeding Continuing Education requirements. She excels in the area of Cosmetic and Reconstructive Dentistry but puts the basic health of the mouth first in all her treatment planning for her patients. In 2012 she expanded her emphasis in Laser Dentistry and Dental Sleep Medicine at Cool Springs Laser Dentistry.
Dr. Rice and her husband, Jeff, have been married since 1984. They have three grown children Haley, Hunter, and Hope. Dr. Rice loves theater, music, reading, and jewelry making. Most people dont know that she can play the drums, piano, and violin (although the violin only gets played when no one else is at home!)
Elaine Jonas has been a faithful hygienist at Cool Springs Laser Dentistry for over 21 years! Her periodontal experience in her career is invaluable to Dr. Rice in getting patients to their optimal gum health. She is a New Jersey native, but has raised her 3 children right here in Middle Tennessee. Her time is now spent taking care of patients and having fun with her 4 grandsons!!!! And while she is expecting 2 more, she might be hoping for a granddaughter!!!!
Janeane Kinnaman has been contributing to the world of dentistry for over 40 years. She started out as a dental assistant right out of high school and quickly learned that she wanted to further her education into dental hygiene. She received her degree in dental hygiene from East Tennessee State University and has worked for Dr. Rice for the past 9 years, since late 2008. She also teaches in Dr. Rices Dental Assistant Certification Program, the Dental Assistant School of Nashville, and is most beloved by her students!!!
Taylor is a RDA that is passionately working as Dr. Rices Sleep Assistant. She can answer all your questions about sleep disordered breathing and guide you into learning your best treatment options. Taylor is originally from Winchester, TN. She now lives in Chapel Hill with her husband, Travis, and their 3 dogs. They are happily expecting their 1stchild in June 2021!
Yeain was born and raised in Korea. She graduated from Middle TN State Univ. majoring in Biology with Chemistry as her minor. She then went to our Registered Dental Assistant School. She joined our practice in 2019 taking a gap year before she goes to Dental School. Yeain has so much passion for the dental field, volunteering with state wide nonprofit pop-up clinics. She is also a piano accompanist of the choir at her church, and loves to bake desserts.
Khannaw is our Lead Registered Dental Assistant and has been an assistant for 7 years. She comes from a long line of Dental professionals and is very proud of that! She is very passionate about her patients and loves what she does! When shes not working she is spending time with her 2 kids and Oscar her cat. She loves going to the gym and DIY projects around her house!
Kaye Burton has been a valued part of Dr. Rices team for over 26 years! In fact, she was the very first employee when Dr. Rice opened her practice in 1986, being absent for only 6 years while her family lived in Georgia! Kaye knows exactly what patients are fearful of, and how to calm their fears. She is also extremely knowledgeable about dental insurance, payment plans that work well for patients, and how to be the advocate for our patients.
