Dr.Hirschfeld graduated from New York University in 1977 witha Bachelor of Arts in Biology. Thereafter, he received hisDoctor of Dental Surgerydegreefrom New York University in 1982 graduating in the first quartile. He then did a one year residency in general dentistry at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. This was followed by a one year senior residency in Dental and Oral Surgery at the Brookdale Hospital Medical Center. His formal training was completed at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine where he did a one yearresidency in anesthesiology.
Upon completion of his post-doctoral training, Dr. Hirschfeldmaintained teaching positions as anAttending Dentistat The Mount Sinai Medical Center, Clinical Instructorat The Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and was appointed as an Associate Clinical Professor of Oral Medicine (Pain Control) at theNew York University College of Dentistry.
Dr.Hirschfeld is a currently a diplomate of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology; Director of the New Hampshire Dentist Well Being Committee; Affiliate Staff member of The Memorial Hospital, and on the Board of Directors ofthe New Hampshire Professional Health Program. In addition, he serves as a Clinical Research Associatefor The Bluestone Center for Clinical Researchat New York University.

Had no compassion for a previously traumatized patient. Would never recommend this man to anyone.

I'm low-income and this was one of the few places that took medicare I could find in state. After making an appointment for March 1st and requesting time off for it, I was called to confirm a completely different time and had to alter my time off request. Then, today, I was called and told my appointment was actually February 22nd and when I voiced my frustration to the receptionist, she flat out refused to see me. Thanks for wasting my time, truly. I will never recommend this place.

I had an incredible visit with Dr. Hirschfeld and his staff. They went out of their way to make sure I didn't forget my appointment by calling me a few days in advance, plus I also received a text message. Upon arrival to the office I was greeted by two smiling ladies sitting at the front desk. They had my new patient paperwork ready for me to fill out and along with a copy of my insurance benefits. Shortly after finishing my paperwork the dental assistant came out and called me by name and I was whisked off to start my appointment. My experience with Dr. Hirschfeld's assistant was relaxing and she was very reassuring (I have severe dental anxiety) the doctor came into the room and and introduced himself (super nice and understanding) to me and stated all my concerns back to me and from there we made a treatment plan we both agreed would be best for my dental issues. Checkout was a breeze and my experience with Dr. Hirschfeld and his staff was an A+++. I HIGHLY recommend this office!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Dr. H attempted to save me from a root canal in order to save me some $$ but unfortunately it was inevitable and the pain came back. He got me in quickly and let me do payments as root canals are insanely expensive without insurance. The staff was great as I have dental anxiety, I did not even need laughing gas. The staff explains things and Dr. H tries to take the conservative route to protect one's natural teeth. I have a great crown now which my root canal and crown were half the price the Endodontist I was referred to quoted me. Dr. H has also filled a few teeth as well. Overall a great experience. The staff get back to you quickly. My root canal was pain free (i was told it would be horrific)... just some aching for a few days after but much better than the searing pain i had from cold sensitivity. This is the best dentist I have ever gone to!

Let me start off by saying I have mainecare (witch is free to low income) they younger lady that handles this (seems) Incompetent, lazy and just doesn't want to be bothered I went in as a first time customer and was told I would have to pay for my first exam. Called mainecare they said no it was covered . And gave me a number she could call , like so many her age she knows better then me and would call her own person. After another round of calls to mainecare they told me to go and dispute the charge after and that was the only way they could call and get involved THATS NOT ME . The reason I gave them 2 stars is the rest of the staff was excellent and the dentist was the best I have ever been to In closing if u have the money they are the place to go if ur dealing with insurence call around urself I have already put in a complaint that mainecare should not be sending people there

Excellent dentist, very friendly staff and overall great experience. No pain, no numb for 4 hours later from over medicating, no unnecessary x-rays, a common tactic to drive up the bill "just to be sure from other dentists" Just a great quick fix for a loose cavity replacement.
