Dr. Stephen Chan began his medical career in the same area he spent much of his young lifeSouthern California. He earned his bachelors degree in Biochemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and went on to complete his Doctor in Dental Surgery degree (DDS) at the UCLA School of Dentistry. Afterward, Dr. Chan completed a two-year residency at UCLA Medical Center, where he provided vital dental services to the medically compromised, liver and kidney transplant recipients, and mentally and physically disabled persons. During his residency, he administered conscious IV sedation and performed dental treatments for patients under general anesthesia.
After completing his residency, Dr. Chan went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas. Simultaneously, he successfully finished a residency program in oral and maxillofacial surgery and trained at myriad hospitals, including Childrens Medical Center, Zale/University Hospital, St. Paul Hospital, Parkland Memorial Hospital, JPS Hospital at Fort Worth, Baylor Hospital, and the Veterans Affair Medical Centerduring which he also completed a general surgery internship and training as an anesthesia resident.
Dr. Chan specializes in dental implants and advanced bone grafting, ranging from single tooth replacement and multiple teeth restorations to full mouth reconstruction using the All-on-Four technique. He also focuses on wisdom teeth, pathology, trauma, and soft tissue surgery.
Dr. Chan is certified in advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS), pediatric cardiovascular life support (PALS), advanced trauma life support (ATLS) and is permitted to administer general anesthesia, IV and oral sedation. Earning a stellar reputation in oral and maxillofacial surgery, Aidan Phan D.D., M.D., grew up near Chicago, Illinois, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Premedical Sciences from the University of Wisconsin. After graduating from Indiana University School of Dentistry with the highest honors.He went on to earn his M.D degree at the University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW), as well as general surgery internship, followed by an oral and maxillofacial surgery, residency. He is specially trained in the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, encompassing wisdom teeth removal, dental implant surgery, bone and soft tissue grafting, reconstructive surgery of trauma injuries and different anesthesia techniques.

Unfortunately, I had an awful experience. The consult was on time and friendly. Dr Phan was calming and answered all my questions. On the day of surgery, everyone was prepared and on time. They were all done and were giving me instructions when I asked about the bone graft. They had not communicated to the dentist so they had to open me back up. (I paid an additional $1500 for the service up front so they definitely knew). I also expected a check in phone call the next day but got nothing. I went in 6 days after surgery due to pain and the stitches coming undone and they accused me of taking them out when I just clipped the 2 inch string hanging out as the nurse on the phone told the to! Overall, the staff treated me like I was a "problem". I'm a very good patient and have never had this kind of treatment. In summary, not a good experience and I won't be back for the implant.

I had my implant surgery late last year. The recovery from this surgery was a breeze... I did not even take a pain pill. I highly recommend Dr. Phan and his staff if you are in of any type of oral surgery. My personal experience was awesome.

Worst experience of my life!!!! I will never ever do any business with these people again. They request that you pay for their services upfront and do not perform the service you paid for and then pretend that your insurance did not cover some of the expenses so that they could not issue your refund and remind you that the plans offered were just estimates. Estimates were more than $600 off?!?!? Worst oral surgery experience ever!!!!

Very cool place. The staff is excellent. Everything on point. Surgeons are the GOATS. Had my surgery and it went well. I had complications afterwards but a having faith on my Surgeons words allowed a fast recovery. Again very good place Trustworthy.()

Dr. Chen was the most amazing oral surgeon. He answered all of my questions and really eased my fears about getting my wisdom teeth removed. He did such a great job especially since my case was such a difficult one. His partner was such a great help with an unexpected follow up visit as well. Highly recommend this team.

Had my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Phan recently. He was knowledgeable, made me feel comfortable, and he and the staff made me feel like I was in great hands! It was evident to me that my comfort and well being was a priority and I highly recommend them!
