Ryan Teahen, DDS Dr. Ryan Teahen was born and raised in Iowa. He attended the University of Iowa for his undergraduate and dental school education, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2013. After graduation, he completed a one-year fellowship in general dentistry in Boston, Massachusetts, at a community health center. He practiced general dentistry for two years primarily in Chicago, while concurrently working with a pediatric mobile outreach clinic that services at-risk neighborhoods. It was during this time that Dr. Teahen found his passion for endodontics. He then returned to the University of Iowa for a two-year advanced education program and earned his specialty certificate in endodontics in 2018. During his time at the University of Iowa, Dr. Teahen earned the Deans Student Leader Award in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013, recognizing his leadership within the college; the Practice Management Award in 2013 for his excellence in the treatment he provided to patients during dental school; and the American Association of Public Health Dentistry Award in 2013 for his achievement in community dentistry and dental public health.

Coolidge Endodontic Study Club. He has enjoyed participating in dental outreach initiatives both locally and abroad including service trips to Jamaica, India and Ghana.

Contemporary Endodontics was founded in 1981 by Dr. James E. McCormick. A graduate of the University of British Columbia, Dr. McCormick decided to start his practice in Chicago after completing his specialty training at the Loyola University School of Dentistry. Through Dr. McCormick and his associates, the practice quickly established its reputation of upholding the highest standards of patient care, a commitment to excellence and a passion for the specialty.

Having completed his dental training at Loyola University School of Dentistry, Dr. Carlos Diaz-Albertini served as an officer in the United States Navy Dental Corps and completed his specialty training at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, after which he found his home at Contemporary Endodontics in 1995. Dr. Diaz-Albertini and Dr. McCormick continued to pursue their passion by staying at the forefront of the field of endodontics and expanding the scope of their practice throughout the south suburbs of Chicago.

Contemporary Endodontics was officially adopted as the moniker of the practice in 2012. Dr. Richard J. Pasiewicz joined the practice in 2014 as an associate and worked alongside Dr. Diaz-Albertini and Dr. McCormick until their retirement in December 2014. Dr. Pasiewiczs passion for endodontics and his commitment to excellence and providing compassionate and professional patient care paralleled that of Dr. McCormick and Dr. Diaz-Albertini.

Since assuming ownership in 2018, Dr. Pasiewicz, in addition to his associate, Dr. Ryan Teahen, continues to serve the community that Contemporary Endodontics has been a part of for so long. They are dedicated to continuing Dr. McCormicks and Dr. Diaz-Albertinis legacy of professionalism, distinction in the field of endodontics and compassionate patient care.

First, this office erases low reviews. Dr. P totally misdiagnosed a cracked tooth under a crown for months leading to an infection. Again, low reviews are totally erased. I did call the office to ask how this could be missed and Dr. P came up with some excuse to charge my insurance an ungodly amount which still didn't explain how he missed such an obvious infected tooth. Thankfully another specialist found this before it became a full blow infection. I lost a back molar due to months of being misdiagnosed. And my dentist told him this tooth was tricky. So many other great specialists in Orland and Frankfort. I also was brushed off by Dr. P.

Dr Pasiewicz and Assistant Cindy were excellent, professional and very compassionate. Had to go in for an emergency root canal. Was in so much pain. Wanted to be sure to everything was fine before I reviewed...it took time and now I'm so much better. Thanks Dr Pasiewicz and Cindy for a job well done. I HAVE TO REVOKE THIS REVIEW... 10 DAYS LATER MY ENTIRE BRIDGE FELL OUT & HAD TO SEE AN ORAL SURGEON. I WAS INFORMED THAT I SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAD THE ROOT CANAL IT WAS IN BAD SHAPE AND WAS VERY POSSIBLY SHATTERED DURING THAT PROCEDURE. I CAN BELIEVE THAT BECAUSE AT ONE POINT I FELT SUDDEN EXTREME PAIN AND DR PASIEWICZ WAS BRUSHING IT OFF SAYING THAT WAS NOTHING SERIOUS. I'M SO ANGRY....

Highly recommended. I called at 1pm with pain in my tooth and was in the chair 2 hours later. Had a double root canal which was painless. I was drinking a Chocolate shake from McDonald's on the way home. Don't call anyone else. This is the place.

Dr. Richard J. Pasiewicz, and his entire team were professional, caring, and expert at a time of uncertainty and anxiousness for me. Dr. Pasiewiczes bedside manner placed me at ease during the consultation that in my mind the root canal was going to go well, and it did. Doctor and the dental assistant worked in perfect concert together with the assistant anticipating what Dr. Richard was going to need making the whole procedure efficient, lasting much less time than a root canal I had previously on a different tooth by a different endodontist. The practice front desk receptionist was effective in billing to my dental coverage and I was pleased that my insurance was billed directly and covered completely on the first submission. The state of the art technology allowed me to see exactly what needed to be done and how it was completed. Dr. explained every part of the process and procedure making my anxiousness dissipate. I look forward to recommending Dr. Pasiewicz to friends, family, and clients because I know the people I care for will be well taken care of to my high standards of care. John, R.N.

I visited Contemporary Endodontics for a 2nd option on implants. They were very professional and used a CT scanner to provide the answer. Based on the scans which show valuable pictures of the tooth & gum line I'm going to move forward getting my implants.

I had a root canal procedure that was the best one I ever had. No pain during or after the procedure. I am highly recommending Dr. Pasiewicz who has the best chair side approach to his patience. Very skilled and professional.

I had to have a root canal for the first time and went to Contemporary Endodontics. I was surprised at how quickly I got in the chair - I saw a dentist at 8pm the previous night and was getting the root canal by 10am the next morning. My pain was instantly gone after my first appointment and they finished the work after the second. I literally could have fallen asleep in the chair - that's how pain free my root canal was. The staff was great and follows up the next day after every visit to make sure things are okay. I couldn't have been happier with my experience.

I was so nervous to have my first root canal. I had a bad experience on this same tooth with a previous dentist and the experience made me nervous for my next encounter. But Dr. Teahan was soooooo good and reassuring and calm. Very understanding and kind. He did a wonderful job. I felt no pain. He explained every step. I definitely recommend him. I'm so thankful for his skills!
