The reason I became a dentist was to show people another side of dentistry. I wanted to bring a softer side of dentistry, with comfort, compassion, and precision, to everyday people like myself. I want people to get the dentistry that I always wanted to receive. No one goes to the dentist for fun; my goal is to have my office be a safe, pain-free environment where my patients feel completely at ease.
After graduating high school in 1983, I became involved in dentistry by working in the denture lab at UCLA. This built upon my foundation in the arts by utilizing my love of working with my hands. California State University at Northridge University of Texas at Houston School of Dentistry
My passion in cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry led me in my lifelong pursuit of surgical and prosthetic training. I have worked and studied in Texas, New Mexico, and Virginia, incorporating all I have learned to enhance my practice. For more than 20 years, I have tried to excel at what I do to master the art of dentistry and all its facets. I want my patients to experience the dentistry that I would insist my family receives.
Originally from Victoria, Texas, I have lived in Fairfax for seven years. I have an amazing wife, Sarah, and two young daughters, Alexis and Olivia. At home with my family is where I love to be when Im not in the office, but I take time to volunteer with the MOMS project to bring urgent dental care to those in need.

I am originally from Barranquilla, Colombia, and have lived in Aldie for a decade. I am married with two lovely daughters and a dog named Millie. My free time is spent with my family and watching New York Yankees baseball games.
I understand that many patients carry anxiety about visits to the dentist, but I believe that creating a genuine connection and listening may ease many of these concerns. I enjoy seeing patients of all ages, and work to provide a comprehensive array of treatment.
Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, I attended Centre College for my undergraduate education and the University of Kentucky to earn my Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree. I am very passionate about learning and regularly attend continuing education courses to provide the most up-to-date care for my patients.

Saw Jason Hwang twice in under a month and each time he has been rude and provided horrible craftsmanship. I have had a fake tooth for 15 years due to breaking it as a child upon major impact and have never had a concern.(fixed by a different practice that is no longer around). I recently broke the one right next to it due to impact, less that 3 weeks later it breaks again while eating cantaloupe. During my first visit I specifically asked Jason when I'd need to return for a follow up and cleaning, where he stated "I didn't." When I returned he stated it is because I needed a bite gaurd which was NOT discussed on the first visit. Now it's been less than a week since the second break and my tooth has broke AGAIN! Horrible work. Horrible customer service. And $500 wasted!!!

Had my teeth clean and pulled one tooth with no pain. Thank God! They numb my gums a little with a little numbing jell first before cleaning my gums since I'm sensitive and hate pain. They didn't mind at all. Everyone is so nice. Me, my mom and sister go here and tomorrow I'll call for my daughter Honest Dentist. Thanks!

I would highly recommend this place. Jong was one of the best Dental Hygienists that I have ever seen and the owner was extremely kind and gracious enough to accomodate a special situation for me. This is certainly the dentist office to use!

Continuously failed to bill correctly resulting in years long fiasco with how they should bill the insurance company. Been to many dentistries before with the same setup and there was no issue. Also often felt pressured to get dental work done that I did not want nor needed.

I saw Dr. Vetter today for the 1rst time and she was very sweet and gentle..She did my fillings and gave me a shot to numb the area before working on it...She was ver patient and explained everything she was doing..This is the second doctor I see here that is great! Last appointment I saw Dr. Alcatana and he was great too! I would definitely recommend this dental office to my friends and loved ones!!!

After suffering from severe TMJ and grinding my teeth to the bone, it was Dr. Hangval that could fix my issues. The crowns have given me my full teeth and obviously youthful smile and obviously a better bite and less jaw pain. I love my new smile and careful crowns he ordered. I only wish I had done this earlier.

This place is fantastic, Jong is a fantastic hygienist, he was incredibly thorough, knowledgeable, and professional with me. The ortho spent more time with me going over my specific issues than anywhere else. Outside of that the staff was helpful.

I have been going to this dental clinic for about 3 years and it is always a pleasant experience. From the moment you enter the clinic you are received with a smile and just taken great care of. All of my visits have been pleasant. My dentist is Dr. Alcantara and besides of having fantastic bedside manner, he is knowledgable, kind, fast, detail oriented, and always available for advice. His assistant Rozita is just the best, such a kind and caring person, she is always making sure you are comfortable. Rick from the front desk has also always helped me with paperwork and insurance documents. I also have had the experience to be treated by Dr. Hangval and he is amazing! Both of the Hygienists are also excellent. Thank you to everybody in the practice for your excellent care and dedication towards medicine, you are a wonderful team!

This practice is fantastic! The entire experience here is one of a kind. The staff is well knowledgeable and friendly, especially Emily R. and Dr. Whitman. As you leave they even give you a special flavored chapstick to go with your dental goodie bag. Love this place. I was very impressed all around!

Great Service - very flexible/and always welcome you with smile. We have moved further out but I still bring my kids here as it is very comfortable. I would give more stars if that was option.
