Dr. Spyridon (Spyros) Varthis is a board-eligible Prosthodontist and an Oral Implantologist, specializing in dental implant surgery, esthetic dentistry, porcelain veneers, and smile makeovers. His stellar educational credentials with top tier medical institutions and his highly specialized training and experience in Implant Surgery and Prosthodontics place him right to the top of the entire field of dentistry, both nationally and globally.
Beyond his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, Dr. Varthis received his Masters of Science and a Certificate in Prosthodontics, after completing a three-year postdoctoral program at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. In addition, he completed a two-year General Practice Residency Program under the Oral Surgery Department of the Presbyterian Hospital at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. He has also received an MPhil and a Ph.D. degree in Science Education from Columbia University.
Dr. Varthis has served as a full time assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at New York University College of Dentistry, as well as a Research Investigator at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Currently, Dr. Varthis is an assistant Clinical Professor at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine.
His affiliation with prestigious dental organizations include his membership at the Pre-doctoral Educational Committee of American College of Prosthodontics, The International Congress of Oral Implantology, the American Academy of Prosthodontics, the American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics were he serves as a Fellow.
Dr. Varthis research and articles have been published in the International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants, Journal of Prosthodontics, Journal of Cranio-Maxillo-facial Surgery, and others, while he is a peer reviewer for several dental journals such as the Journal of Prosthodontics, Clinical Implant Dentistry and related Research, The Journal of Advanced Prosthodontics, etc. As a Speaker, he is invited regularly at major national and international symposia and conferences.

Dr. Habib always takes good care of my cleaning and other dental needs to make me look good. Even though I move around within the U.S.A. because of my job client's assignment, I make sure to always go back to his clinic for my dental check-up.

I had a dental implant that started more then 2 years ago. The wait time in the office with Dr Habib was typically 1-2 hours for a 10 minute procedure. They have tried twice to implant a front tooth. Both failed within 30 days resulting in roughly 8 months between the next attempt. I still have a missing front tooth. I will never go back to them and I would strongly recommend not using them. They have never attempted to refund any of the wasted money I paid them.

I was extremely anxious before my first treatment. Now I look forward to appointments. The office staff including billing, hygienists, doctors, assistants, and receptionists provide excellent patient care. The office building is comfortable, attractive, and clean!

Even though I was not a regular client I was provided emergency care with a knowledgeable Dr. My consultation was not rushed and the Dentist took all available time to work through my dental problem. He was kind, professional and gave me all options.

Over the years have had some horrendous experiences which left me a very scared nervous patient. I had my teeth cleaned yesterday by Dr. Habib and for the first time in years had a good experience due to his kind and caring manner.

I had implant done one month ago,I went there thinking I would be there for 5 hours hours because there were 33 people in one hour ,after reading the reviews and I talked to some people that said they waited 7 hours there before ,well it was a surprise for me because the dentist saw me after 30mjn that I arrived ,the implant took 30min and after two weeks I returned for a follow up and the dentist was late just 40min and the followed last 5min.Now in February I will put the crown,so far so good. I didn't need bone grafting because I had done 8months ago with another dentist then maybe who took hours there waiting they might had bone grafting done
