We are pleased to announce that CTMAX is back to (new) normal services. We are still maintaining a cautious approach and following the recommendations by the CDC, the Connecticut Department of Public Health, and all local authorities regarding the ongoing COVID-19 issues as they relate to protecting our patients experience in all of our offices.

At this time, we are pleased to announce that CTMAX will begin to resume normal services starting on May 20th. At the same time, all of our patients should rest assured that we continue to listen carefully to the recommendations put forward by the CDC, the Connecticut Department of Public Health, and all local authorities regarding the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.

For the past several weeks, we have successfully run an emergency oral surgery clinic to service those patients with only emergencies. Our clinic was limited to a single office location and targeted patients who might otherwise be forced to seek emergent oral surgical needs through the hospital emergency rooms. We would like to recognize and thank Dr. Brett Weyman and our dedicated staff that made this possible through the very peak of Connecticuts Phase I COVID-19 curve. By using specific protocols that aligned with the CDCs recommendations for safety, CTMAX successfully ensured the health and wellbeing of all patients needing treatment during this period while preserving the safety of our own team.

Our experience over this period has been invaluable and is assisting us as we plan for reopening our offices to elective services. We have always employed the highest level of patient protection and sanitization methods to preserve a surgically aseptic environment. Similarly, our doctors and staff are accustomed to operating in a hypersensitive environment. In years past we have confronted and practiced in the face of infamous epidemics, including, Hep A, B & C, HIV/AIDS, SARS, H1N1, Ebola (EBV) and others. Therefore, we understand how to mitigate the risks of treatment for both the patient and the doctor. We will use the additional experience of what we have learned recently as well as over decades of practice to keep you and your family safe.

We would like to say that this message is our last regarding this situation and that we will resume normal operations on April 6th, however, we are aware that we will have to react to the facts on the ground and recommendations provided to us by our government health agencies. We wish everyone safety and good health in these difficult times. We believe that our people, communities and country will successfully prevail against this invisible enemy that we face.

It would not be the first time that a down economy has produced tradesmen and specialists out of thin air that profess to have an expertise in just about everything from building homes to laying new tile in your bathroom. In hard times, everyone is looking to putting food on the table and jobs are often scarce for what was previously an individuals selected profession. Unfortunately, the dental profession is no different. As discretionary funds are redistributed by patients to other more critical life-sustaining items, the professional in both dentistry and medicine may begin looking to taking on treatments that he or she may otherwise not have considered doing or at the very least would have sent to a specialist. In its worst form this practice can result in a fraudulent misrepresentation of the professionals education, ability and even licensure as it relates to what they are providing for the patient. My daughter , 9 , was being sent there from her primary dentist due to an adult tooth coming in and her baby tooth not being loose. The visit was suppose to be a "consultation " to determine next steps. My husband was told to head right over and they were going to call me ASAP to go over her significant medical history and the reasons why laughing gas and general anesthesia are not an option for her and what would be. As well as determine if she needed antibiotics for her gum. I had to call them, the first woman I spoke to was trying to help me, put me on hold stated she was speaking to the dentist, got back on the phone and gave me some crazy options I again told her could not work bc of my daughter's medical history and I was told the dentist was going to call me and I really wanted to speak with them prior to them seeing my child. Then another very very rude woman got on the phone and began to tell me how this visit was not a consultation and they would be removing her tooth and if laughing gas is something she could not have they would "SIMPLY NUMB THE AREA, IF SHE WOULD COOPERATE" , I'M sorry say what!! She is 9?? That is not what I am bringing her there for and nor is that what is safe given her history. I again ask to speak to the dentist, I was then denied and told no because she was not a patient, to not bring her in, as they would not see her because we were not in network. At that point she hung up on me. They are very unprofessional and clearly think pulling a child's tooth out with out parental permission is ok. I am sickened to see how they treat parents who are looking to go there for help. They were not even willing to offer suggestions of places to go or what can be done to help. They were rude and highly disrespectful to a distraught mom looking to get her daughter help. I would say don't go.

If you're going to be coming here, Dr. Staslusis is the one to see! Oh my goodness, I cannot tell you how great my experience was. I had had tooth removals elsewhere and they were horrific; Everything from the pain, to the procedure itself was just subpar. Going in, I was a bit apprehensive because again, my past experiences had not been great. Dr. Staslusis made my experience less about pain or discomfort, and more about being as normal an experience as anything. It was quick, easy and never uncomfortable. I was in and out of there in about 20 minutes, and one of the removals was a wisdom teeth! I am barely bleeding and eating like normal only 2 hours later. I am so glad that I was referred to him :) Great customer service, professional and extremely skilled at his job!

I got all 4 wisdom teeth removed on Friday, had no blood or excessive swelling at all. I was 100% pain free by Sunday. I even had to get my mom to verify that I did, in fact, get all 4 removed, since I had no pain on the top teeth. This place is amazing! 100% recommend!
